Everything was perfekt, like last time. Sophia gave us a number to call when we arrive, and they were there with the keys in 2 minutes.
My wife and daughter joined me visiting my son who was studying at St. Andrews. The flat is perfect and so centrally located. It is very close to St. Andrews University all locations, a little over a block to the bus station and two blocks to golfing on the old course. Even if you do not gold the old course is worth walking on Sunday for free. At the same time, you are only a short walk to all restaurants and the historical attractions.
We learned about Thrifting which is a little know activity of the locals. We are told there are twelve small shops and we found eight with wonderful bargains for high end St. Andrews golf products, Kashmir sweaters, polo shirts, rain/winter jackets and women's shoes with a portion of the funds to charity. Certainly, all the high end boutique shops for clothing and jewelry are there with many created by local craftsmen and women as well as wonderful places to dine.
While we did not meet Sophia, she quickly answered any and all questions resolving any issue immediately.
My group of four golfers stayed at Sophia's flat for four nights recently. What a location! 3 blocks from the Old Course, and close to dining, pubs and (website hidden). Andrews is a very cool little town (check out The Blue Stane pub just down the street from the flat). The flat itself is awesome - plenty of space and well equipped. It was great to have a home base for our golfing adventures. Highly recommended!
We spent a lovely few days at Sophia's place in early July. The location was ideal--half way between the Old Course and the High Street (which, if you've never been to St. Andrews, will be your main ports of call).
The flat itself is furnished to a high level with a happy mix of older and modern pieces, but the bathrooms are both very modern and well cared-for.
We felt very lucky to get Sophia's place, and would very much recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting St Andrews.
My family and I visited St Andrews for a week and we have a wonderful stay at Sophia’s flat. Her tastefully decorated flat is as good as what you can see from the pictures. It is very spacious two bedroom apartment with lots of storage room and work space – perfect for a family of four or two couples. The flat is in a nice and quiet neighborhood right behind the main street. Super markets, café, bus station, West Sand beach and Old Course golf course are all within short walking distance. In addition, Sophia is a great host. She responds to emails very promptly and proactively arranges for us to drop off our luggages before the previous guest checked out. We thoroughly enjoy our stay at Sophia’s flat as we feel very at home.
This St Andrews flat is as beautiful and well designed as they come. Everything from the decor and furniture to the central location makes this the perfect spot from which to enjoy the town St Andrews. Thanks Sophia for a wonderful stay!
About the Host, Sophia
I am a 23 year old recent university graduate from New York City. As a homeowner myself, I know the care that goes into maintaining a rental property and I treat wherever I stay with the utmost respect and care as if it were my own home. I spent a year restoring a flat which forms part of a Georgian-era terraced house in St Andrews, Scotland and I'm quite proud of it.
