Million dollar view in Nelson

House - Private room · Stafford Walk, Nelson, Nelson 7010, New Zealand

The Space

Our traditional spacious family house is in Nelson's dress circle on the Port Hills. We have the best view in town, out over Tasman Bay taking in the port entrance "The Cut", Abel Tasman National Park in the distance and snow covered Mt Arthur. Spend hours just gazing and daydreaming!

2 bedrooms available, both with sea views, with own separate bathroom. Large (palatial!) guest sitting room with adjoining breakfast room. Self serve breakfast of fruit, yoghurt and muesli is included in the rate. Tea and coffee is available any time. Home cooked dinner with a glass of Nelson wine is available on request with some advance notice. (NZ$40)

(Please note: if you book for 2 and would like 2 bedrooms instead of sharing a double, there is a supplement of NZ$40 payable on arrival ie a single supplement on the 2nd room)

Nelson city centre with galleries, cafes, bars, restaurants, movies etc. is a 20 minute walk. Nelson's famous Boatshed Restaurant is just a 5 minute walk away along the waterfront. Also on the waterfront are fish and chips and 2 other waterfront restaurants/cafes plus sailing excursions and ferry - plenty to choose from. There is high tide swimming at the bottom of our road and we are only a 15 minute walk from Tahunanui's enormous sandy swimming beach where you can kite surf or windsurf with the cool dudes.

Bus to town at the bottom of the road if you don't feel like walking.

Check In
  • I stayed for just one night between arriving at the airport and leaving next day on a bus. I was picked up from the airport by Candy, given tea and biscuits on arrival - we chatted on the balcony overlooking the wooded island and harbour mouth - and provided with a good dinner later (this is a paid-for extra - $40 when I visited). After a comfortable night and breakfast I was dropped off at the bus-stop in the morning. It's a beautiful house with a stunning view, and everything was perfect.

  • Amazing views, I was on a business trip and seeing the view morning and night made my trip. Great restaurants within walking distance.

  • Candy was wonderful - I wanted my parents to have some time to themselves for their first few nights in Nelson and they had a ball... Couldn't get enough of that view and the house and hosts were faultless.

  • This is the absolute perfect place to stay in Nelson. Candy is an amazingly generous and kind host, the view from the room is incredible, and it's a very easy/pretty walk to Nelson's town center. Could not recommend enough!

  • Candy and her house are lovely. We had a very short stay but it was still very nice to get to know her and she was incredibly warm and inviting. Breakfast was delicious. Next time we visit Nelson we'll stay longer!

  • Candy and her husband Charlie are excellent hosts. The house is beautiful with solid wood trim everywhere. It is close to town with an amazing view. Candy was quite helpful in my planning for the days that I was there.

  • Thank you to Candy and Charlie for hosting us in their beautiful home in Nelson. The Room and facilities offered were of a high standard. Even in the drizzly weather the view over Haulashore Island from the house could be appreciated, but in the sunshine this was magical. Restaurants recommended in the surrounding area were very good. Nelson was a lovely place to visit on the way from Marlborough through to the Abel Tasman region. Excellent response time to booking requests. Thoroughly recommend.
