This Studio is on one of the NYC's best streets! Steps from amazing shopping, dining and nightlife!
This is a spacious studio in the heart of the East Village. Steps to Tompkins Square Park. There are countless restaurants, cafes, bars and nightlife surrounding the apartment. It is located on the 3rd floor of a 6 story walk-up building on a quiet and beautiful street with tons of great shops and dining. Literally one of the best low-key blocks in lower Manhattan.
Transportation: 5 Minute walk to 14th street L strain at 1st avenue. 5 Minute walk to Astor place 6 train. 12 minute walk to Union Square L456NQR trains to anywhere in the city. 20 minutes walk/train to Grand Central or Times Square.
Our favorite part about the east village is that you can walk to all the best neighborhoods of lower Manhattan. Lower East Side, Chinatown, Soho, Nolita, Little Italy and Gramercy.
The apartment is furnished with an extra comfy queen size bed and a Futon sofa that folds down into a bed with room for 2 in each! Note: The apartment is definitely best for 1 or 2 but can certainly sleep 3 or 4, although longer stays may get cramped. There is a spacious bathroom and full kitchen with dishwasher. This is by no means a large apartment but certainly large for an NYC studio!
The apartment is very very clean with all new furniture/mattress and linens! Plenty of fresh towels and linens provided as well.
Anyways, ask me anything! I love to help with travel and fun city tips!
Many people ask about the price with fees and extra costs etc along with how to make payment etc. When you enter the dates you would like to stay into the site along with the number of people, it will return the total cost (including the cleaning fee). There are no taxes or extra fees on top of this, but AirBnB adds their fee. It varies between 6-12% on top of our price. The security deposit will be returned to you 48 hours after you check out as long as you leave the place in decent condition. So far we have never had to keep any of the deposits.
All the payments are safely made with credit card to AirBnB when booking. They hold the money until the day after you check in and will then transfer it to us. This ensures that the apartment is there when you arrive and prevents fraud etc. Thanks!
I will not be present at all but live close by if you need anything at all! :)

We had a superbly comfortable week-long stay at this studio. The location in the heart of East Village was perfect for us, we greatly enjoyed the chill atmosphere of the neighborhood. The apartment is also conveniently located for visiting both Brooklyn and Manhattan. Communication with the owners was swift and they were very flexible with the check-in and check-out processes. I highly recommend this place!
We had a wonderful stay in Melissa's apartment! The location is fabulous with lots of cute bars and restaurants close by, and there are many metro stations within a 5-10 minute walk. There were two of us in the apartment and it was the perfect size for us and all of our luggage. Melissa was very accommodating and helpful during our entire stay. We would definitely stay here again!
This is my second stay in this lovely apartment. Mel and Sam are the best hosts. The apt was clean and warm (essential this visit with all the cold weather!) and the location in the east village is close to everything you would want to do! i love it here!
My favorite airbnb apartment so far! Perfect location, very clean apartment, perfect size for 1-2 people. Melissa was a great host, responded quickly to any questions and was present when we needed her concerning a plumbing issue. I would always try to book that place again in the future!
My friends and I had the opportunity to stay at Melissa's East Village Studio while touring New York and we can say that it was an enjoyable experience. The place is just as it is described and the location is superb. We loved the easy access to the subway system to get around the city. Also the East Village area is so full of life, great places to visit, eat and enjoy a drink. Melissa was a great host, she had everything ready at check in, the place was clean and taken care off. If I'm to go back to NYC, i would definitely keep this place in mind :)
Melissa was a really nice host, even if we never met her, as we picked up the keys around the corner, she always helped us out, when we had questions about the booking, the room or New York itself.
The Studio was big enough for three friends to stay, clean and perfectly located. We tried out some of the restaurants she recommended in the guide and were not disappointed.
We had a great time in NYC and Melissa's place and would definetly consider it for our next trip to New York some day.
This was a great rental in a fantastic location. Everything was as promised. I don't have much to add to all the other reviews, except to point out that a trip (or two) to nearby Big Gay Ice Cream is a must.
We had a great stay. The neighborhood is really good, with plenty of places to eat, drink and nice shops, very close to many NYC attractions.
In the instructions Melissa indicates to call her or email her I did not get an answer to my calls until we arrived to the apartment so I think it would be better to connect with her by email.
We had a problem with the toilet and we sent 3 messages to Melissa and we had to solve this issue by ourselves, we manage to buy a toilet plunger and we solve the problem, but it would have been good to get some help from her on this.
We spent seven nights at Melissa's studio. Great location. Subway is two blocks (10 minutes) walking from studio. Also there a lot of great restaurants and bars around. The studio is clean, bed is really confortable and Melissa is very kind and attentive with her guests before and during the stay. We would come back in a new trip to NYC.
Melissa was a great host to my stay in NYC. She is very pleasant, communicative and quick to respond to any questions you may have. She's also proactive and flexible and made it very easy for me to coordinate after-hours check-in and check-out.
Her East Village studio was very cute, clean and smelled fresh. It may be a NY size but because it has a full kitchen (rare for NYC studios), a spacious full bathroom and a smart layout overall, it was very comfortable to stay in. It also has large windows that overlook the street. I'd say it's perfect for one person or a couple, though you can squeeze in more people if needed as it comes with a large couch.
The studio is in a great downtown location surrounded by literally 100s of eateries and shops all in a walking distance. Also in a walking distance to several subway stations on various lines, which was very convenient. I'd be back and highly recommended!
