About this listing
Our historic home is in the largest historic residential district in the US. We are 3 blocks from a wonderful main street with great shopping. Our town has many museums, parks and restaurants. This room has an adjustable air queen bed and private bath. The bathroom has original turn of the century fixtures and is very quaint. Bedrooms are located upstairs in the back wing of the house and are very private and quiet. The kitchen is very large (15 x 30) but cozy and is available for your use. We do have pets and are a nonsmoking household. Quiet walkable neighborhood. An amazing architecture walk with map guided tour. The Dark Horse brewery is a quick walk away as is Schulers 100 yr old restaurant. Ample parking. Bicycles available. Front porch with swing for two, screen porch when its dark (no mosquitoes}, heated pool, gazebo and perennial gardens for relaxing. We can't wait to share our home with you so expect a tour! We are LGBT friendly. ALL are welcome.
A pet is okay as long as a crate is available for it to stay in if you're out. Thank you
We also welcome long term guests and if you are considering that option know that you'll have a cupboard and space in the refrigerator. You may also use our laundry. All of our long term guests have had pets so know that's also fine with us.
Michelle most definitely has the gift of hospitality, and she has a wonderful home to boot. Absolutely gorgeous historic house in a secluded neighborhood. We were able to walk everywhere in town, and take a dip in the pool on Saturday afternoon. Was a wonderful, refreshing getaway. We will definitely stay here again!
My mom and I really enjoyed our stay! Marshall is such a cute small town, with tons of history! Staying at Michelle's was great. Her house was really beautiful and Michelle was a really kind and accomodating host. Plus we were able to use amazon prime on the tv! It was awesome! Thanks again!
What a beautiful home taking its rightful place amongst the other mansions in the area! Great safe neighborhood near everything! Never needed a car or bicycle (which was provided) as everything is within walking distance. Exceptional private room and bath with shared sitting room, coffee station, laundry room and fridge. Huge pool was heaven during hot summer days and my little nieces that lived nearby were welcomed there as well.
During my month-long stay I noticed as visitors left Michelle cleaned the rooms in preparation for the next visitor...but the rooms weren't just cleaned, they were THOROUGHLY cleaned. (eg: bed linens washed (sheets, pillow cases, pillow protectors, mattress protectors, blankets, bedspread, throw rugs...everything!). The place is spotless. Can't say enough about the hosts - friendly, caring, interesting...better (MUCH better) than staying with family.
The beautiful deer family of 5 at end of the driveway each morning and evening just added to this delightful experience.
The hostess, Michelle was very welcoming. The home was in a beautiful old neighborhood that was quiet with pretty flowers in pots and window boxes and a lovely in-ground pool.
I arrived on short notice, so Michelle's son showed me to my room, and was able to explain how to get downtown and find restaurants, etc. The room was as described. Perfectly comfortable for the evening. Nice location for a walk around town. Also easy access to the freeway arriving and leaving. I would stay here again.
Michelle was a phenomenal host! We had trouble getting our car rental so we got to the house late. She stayed up for us and gave us a tour. The house itself is absolutely beautiful, it almost feels like something out of a movie! Great place, great vibes, and a great host! I would recommend this to everyone who is headed towards Marshal!
Felt like staying right at home. We got in late, but they showed me our room. We were both too tired to do too much. But if we would have been less tired we would have walked around the area, and definitely would have gone swimming in their beautiful pool! I will be sure to keep this amazing place in mind if we are up that way in the future.

About the Host, Michelle
We are a family with a college age son at home. Husband is an engineer and I am a Weight Watchers leader. Our passion is restoring our historic home and we'd love to share it with you. Our style of hosting is we want to know if there's anything you need or questions you might have and then we'll leave you be. 5 things I can't live without: sitting on the screened porch on summer nights, lunch with a friend, sunglasses/handbags, strong coffee and Luxe lipstick by Lancome. My favorite travel destination was Turkey. My next trip planned is to London.
