While we had booked the apartment as listed, five days before arrival Graz moved us to another of his properties. It was too late for us to think about making any changes. The apartment we moved to had several issues, which was a problem. The off-set was that Graz was very responsive to our concerns and attended to most of the issues within 24 hours.
Great neighbourhood in Andersonville. Parking is a problem.
My advice to any Airbnb'er is check in with your host well before the arrival date to see if anything has changed.
The reservation was canceled 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The apartment was marvelous! Incredibly decorated, with a great kitchen and generous breakfast provisions. Host was cordial and very welcoming. Great neighborhood wtih free parking and access to the El. I'd stay again in a minute.
We stayed at Graz's apartment for a long weekend, and I would highly recommend it. The apartment is spacious, and has everything you could possibly need. Graz was a great host, and even supplied us with a huge bowl of fruit.
The location was great - a nice quiet neighbourhood within a few minutes walk of the L station, which made it very easy to get around. We were there during the Midsommerfest at Andersonville which was a nice walk from the apartment. There are plenty of convenience stores and coffee shops in the immediate vicinity, and a GREAT bakery just around the corner. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this apartment if you're visiting Chicago
Graz was a very nice host! We had everything we could possibly wish for and the apartment is amazing! It's huge and in a nice neighbourhood... Right around the corner you have starbucks, subway, 7-eleven and other shops. It's great to visit chicago! Graz was also very easy on the check-in and -out... So we will absolutly stay at Graz's again! Thank you...
A beautiful, clean space. Of all of the airbnbs we have stayed in, this one was by far the nicest experience -- more reminiscent of the attention you would experience in a b&b -- flowers, fruit on the table, etc....
I can only repeat what others have said before me; Graziano really makes sure that you feel at home and provides you with towels and fresh fruit, which is really nice and welcoming. Even though he was away for work during most of our stay, Graziano assisted with questions and even remotely helped to fix the kitchen faucet I thought I had broken :). He was even so kind to let us check out late on our last day as our flight left late. The place itself is huge and has a nice spacious terrace.
In terms of safety, I always find it hard to judge US neighborhoods, especially in big cities. But after learning who to avoid a bit and who is fine, we saw that we really lived in a relaxed area. The ‘El’ gets you downtown in 20 minutes and is fun to ride as half the stretch is over ground. A definite plus is that you get your groceries (and basically anything you might ever need) around the corner – and that Chicago’s famous Green Mill bar is just down the street.
I should add though, that if you are a very light and nervous sleeper like me, earplugs might be an asset, as you will hear the droning of airplanes. But since nobody else mentioned it, I guess, most people can oversleep it (including my mom).
I cannot but recommend Graziano’s place and himself as a very kind and super reliable host!
