A large, comfortable retreat in the middle of downtown Washington, DC. Steps from the National Mall, the Capitol, the Convention Center, myriad restaurants, and a 24-hour grocery store. You'll have everything you need to make yourself at home here.
This spacious (850 sq feet) one bedroom apartment sits in the heart of downtown Washington. In the shadows of Georgetown Law's Capitol Hill campus, it's a 10 minute walk to the Capitol Building, a 10 minute walk to the heart of Chinatown at 7th & H Streets NW, and a 15 minute walk to the central business district around Metro Center. There's a 24 hour supermarket around the corner along with a few local restaurants, a sandwich shop, a Philadelphia-style deli, a Chipotle, and a salad shop. And effective December 1, there's a brand new urban concept Wal-Mart around the corner so you're covered if you forget anything during your travels!
The apartment has a full kitchen, a bathroom with a washer dryer combination, an LED television with cable, and super-fast WiFi. The building is very quiet and has 24 hour security in the lobby.
The Mount Vernon neighborhood is home to the Walter Reed Washington Convention Center, which is about four blocks from my front door. This is a perfect spot to stay while attending a convention. New restaurants are opening all of the time (there are three at the end of the block including Korean BBQ, sushi, and a modern American bistro). A new Italian bistro is slated to open on my block by mid-December. There's also a 24 hour supermarket (as mentioned above), a few fast food places, and a Starbucks less than 2 blocks away. A new urban Wal-Mart is just two blocks away so you can pick up anything you may have left or forgotten at home.
Beyond the immediate range of the Mount Vernon neighborhood, the Chinatown/Gallery Place neighborhood is a short walk away and it has dozens of exciting restaurants, the Verizon Center (DC's largest live sports and concert venue), and a huge movie theater/cinema. 10 minutes in the other direction is the Capitol Hill neighborhood with tons of small restaurants, coffee shops, and inviting dog parks.
For tourists, you can walk to the Smithsonian museums and the National Mall within 15 minutes. There is a bike share around the corner where you can rent bikes by the hour to get around even easier!
I'm available to my guests by text or phone 24 hours a day should you have any questions or issues during your stay.

Great place to stay! Location is very central in downtown DC, near subway and walking distance of some of the main sights. Matt also was a perfect host and did his best for me to have a worry free stay, I would definitely recommend anyone staying here!
The apartment is a huge one bedroom. Exactly as described and Matt is a great host. He responds to all questions before and during your tip almost immediately and is very informative and helpful. The location for me was ideal, about a 5 minute walk from Union Station. Short walk to grocery store or the new DC urban Wal Mart concept. Easy to get a cab. Apartment was quiet. While DC is easy to get around using Mass Transit, cabs and walking - there is parking on the weekends that does not require a permit I noticed around the apartment. Comfortable bed, full kitchen, wifi, comfortable couches, its all there!
Only downside or precaution - make sure you ask Matt for proper instructions on how to use the intercom to buzz in!
Overall great apartment, great host and very reasonably priced.
Matt's apartment was clean, comfortable and extremely well located in the city. Its location is perfect for the wanderer. Walk just a few blocks from his place in either direction and you're among coffee shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Neighborhood is safe - never had an issue. We didn't meet Matt, since he was out of town, but he overnighted the key to me which helped greatly. Having a washer and dryer in the apartment was an added bonus, especially since we were there for 5 days and I hate traveling with dirty laundry. His kitchen has the essentials in terms of basic pots, plates, cups, cooking utensils, etc., which came in handy because we saved money by cooking in and not eating out for every meal.
We had a wonderful experience with Matt. The apartment was clean and well equipped. The location is very good, just walking distance from the Capitol. On top of that, we had a little accident (our fault) and Matt was more than understanding, we couldn't have asked for more...
Apartment is very well located, within walking distance from Union Station and the main attractions. More comfortable than on the photo. Check in was easy. Matt is a great host, I highly recommend his apartment.
Matt's apartment was great, very clean and super close to union station capitol building and the subway.
the communication with Matt was super fast check in check out was easy.
for people who are coming with a car you can park on the street most of the days (except Thursday 4-pm-6 pm) for FREE!!!!.
Would definitely recommend Matt's apartment to fellow Airbnb users.
Matt's place is super comfortable and the location is excellent. A short walk to all the attractions (even though they ended up being all shutdown and mildly flooded during my stay!) and tons of restaurants and amenities nearby! This was my first time using AirBnB and it was a great experience, for sure.
The reservation was canceled 16 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We enjoyed the stay at Matt's apartment a lot. It is clean, specious and very central. The communication and the check-in went very well. Matt's apartment is very recommendable!
Accommodations were great. Metro walk was a bit farther then we would have liked(15 minutes). There were no iron or ironing board or hair dryer available for our use. Spoke to Matt and he will be taking care of these. Don't hesitate to book this place!
