Description

The Space

Stay at our budget friendly coffee shack on a historic and award winning kona coffee farm with beautiful and amazing ocean and mountain views.

Nothing fancy... a comfy full size bed and offers privacy with your own entrance and a short walk to bathroom, covered outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen. As night enjoy the relaxing sounds of nature as you rest. Its like indoor camping. In the morning, arise to our farm fresh award winning 100% Kona Coffee, our homemade fresh pumpkin bread, and help yourself to our farm fresh fruit and duck eggs (at times when laying eggs).

Join me and my family and/or other guests in our communal outdoor kitchen and talk story over breakfast or in the evening.

Though the bathroom, shower and outdoor kitchen are minimal/no frills, we keep it clean. Its the like the facilities you might at campgrounds. And we have the perfect shower for rinsing off after a day at the beach.

If you are interested in experiencing life on a working sustainable Kona coffee farm in the heart of the Kona Coffee belt, then this is the place for you.

Enjoy the colorful birds and crazy antics of our 2 big and friendly dogs (Posse & Java), our affectionate cat (Buddy) and our farm ducks.

Our coffee Farm quietly produces some of the finest kona coffee in the kona coffee belt region with nearly 100 year old Kona Arabica trees producing smooth, powerful, and delicious brew.

Our coffee won the bronze award at the "2013 Cream of the Crop" cuppping competition and the silver award at the "2012 Cream of the Crop"

Communal outdoor kitchen with BBQ with side burner, microwave, mini fridge (shared with guests in our other room), sink with drinkable water, plates, cups, flatware, cooking utensils and pots n pans. The outdoor kitchen is shared with our family. We have Rocky Trails through farm/property and communal garden and seating area. Feel free to walk the farm and enjoy the sunsets under the mango tree. There are plenty of papaya, avocado, mango, pineapple, mountain-apple, tahitian lime, guava, citrus, several varieties of bannanas and even a few tomato trees.

Early mornings at breakfast or evenings are best times to talk story with hosts, farm workers and other guests. As this is a working farm, we get busy with farm work or running errands for farm, so do our best to be available as time permits.

We are right off the highway in Captain Cook in the Kona Coffee Belt with nearby eateries and grocery store. We have beautiful views of the coastline and sunset from the farm. The famed City of Refuge/Honaunau National Park and Two Step (famous snorkeling spot) are just 10 minute drive. Be Sure to check out our local recommendations posted in outdoor kitchen.

There is a public bus, but only runs near the farm in the early morning. Buses run periodically throughout the day from bus stop across from Manago Hotel which is 2 miles away. We recommend a rental car when staying at our farm, as you will need it for getting around and we provide parking for your vehicle.

This is a working farm first. so quiet time from 10:00 pm - 6:00 am. Our family is up and milling around at 6am and get started at 7am. We try to be quiet, but there may be a fair amount of noise. And during harvest season (late summer to winter), several pickers congregate as early as 7am. So, our place is more suited to early risers, which is our typical guest. If you are a late sleeper and disturbed by early morning noise, this may not be the best place for you. Guests are welcome to come and go as they please. We just ask everyone to be respectful of others on the farm during quiet time.
