Our family (myself, wife & young son) had a wonderful stay with Rhonda & Doug. They were amazingly welcoming, and made us feel at home. The setup is great, you have your own space downstairs, but can also interact with them upstairs. The house is conveniently located near the freeway in a quiet setting, yet is only 15 mins from downtown. Highly recommended!
My name is Jana and I stayed with Doug and Rhonda for 3 weeks in October 2014. Fresh flowers, coffee, popcorn, fresh towels, TV and nice guide to the city of Portland. They were expecting me, explained everything to me and made me feel like at home. Very kind, nice, energetic, communicative people always ready to help. We are even staying in touch now. I felt really comfortable, like a real family member of them.
This booking was for a visiting guest, who stayed with Doug & Rhonda during October and her personal review is above. I can add that Doug & Rhonda were great hosts, flexible and accommodating making the whole process and experience most enjoyable. Thank you
We thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations that Rhonda & Doug provided us during our wonderful stay in Portland. Rhonda has thought of everything to make your stay more comfortable! They truly made us feel so welcome.
Amazing stay with Rhonda and Doug! They have a beautiful home nestled in the quiet hills just minutes from downtown Portland. You can't meet more gracious hosts, they gave us excellent advice on where to eat and we spent most evenings out on the deck having wonderful refreshing conversations and watching the sun sink beneath the trees. They were never intrusive, only helpful and are truly kind, warm, people who are a true delight to be around. They're home is outstanding and inspiring and I consider them two new friends!
About the Host, Rhonda And Doug
Rhonda is a residential designer, originally from Iowa. Doug is a freelance writer and hails from New York, NY. We both work from home.
Both of us landed here in Portland in the late 1980s, back when it was transitioning from a sleepy little logging town, so we've seen monumental changes, most of them pretty good. We're tuned into the restaurant and performing arts scenes, so we're happy to give our guests recommendations and advice.
