Maureen was great! Loved staying with her, she made us feel comfortable and left us to ourselves :)
We stayed at Maureen's apartment for 5 months and we enjoyed our stay. The suite is perfect to accommodate two people. The apartment were very clean when we arrived. Moreover Maureen offers a lot of household products for keeping the suite clean. There is a lot of storage in the kitchen and two huge closets for your cloths. The apartment is perfectly furnished especially for the kitchen then you don't need to buy a lot of things at the beginning of your stay. There is only two small windows so there is not a lot of daylight. However, the apartment is not too dark because there is plenty of artificial lights. We didn't have the chance to enjoy the backyard because we were here from September to December but it would be a great place to enjoy a sunny day if you are planning to stay during the summer. To sum up, the apartment is really great and not too expensive for everything that is included.
Whilst Maureen was away for most of our stay , we did finally meet her and she was delightful . She left clear instructions on how to access our accomodation and the area was exceptionally clean . In all it was great accom for what we wanted even though it is in the basement. For ease of travel we needed a car from this location . I'd recommend this accomodation ;)
Maureen was a delightful host. She was friendly, informative and genuinely cared about making me feel at home. The suite itself was comfortable and fully equipped. It was also quite spacious. There was a laundry room next to the suite which was very useful for me as I stayed there for a month while on a business trip. The only drawback to the suite was that it was quite dark but this is normal for a basement suite. The location wasn't bad but unfortunately there were few shops or services in the immediate vicinity. The bus to downtown or the trendy Whyte Avenue area with shops, cafes and a Saturday Farmers Market was right outside the door however and took only 6 minutes to get to Whyte Avenue, 15 mins to downtown. Maureen had asked if I go to the gym and told me about a very good gym about 8 minutes walk from the house. It was a friendly, well equipped gym where you could pay either per visit or buy 10 passes for a reasonable rate. Overall, I can recommend staying here and it was excellent value for what was offered.
Our experience here has just been lovely. Maureen is an incredible, warm and charming host and she made us feel right at home after a long trip. The suite had everything we were looking forward to. The relaxed neighbourhood and the easy access to central Edmonton were also very welcome.
This is what AirBnB is all about: meeting such awesome people, like Maureen, who don't hesitate to show us all the important things about Edmonton and who also answered all our questions. Even though she was a bit disappointed with the cheesecake she shared with us, she definitely scored five stars with the home made banana cake and muffins... :-) We would definitely recommend staying with her to anyone looking for a home away from home.
Maureen was a very friendly and lovely landlady. We had two very nice dinners with her and great conversations. She surprised us here and there with her homemade goodies and was always there if we had any questions.
The accomodation was just perfect for a young couple like us and it felt like home from the first moment. It had everything you need including some movies, books and tourist guides. Bus stops are very close to the house and you can get almost everywhere with little effort. If you ever need a stay in Edmonton, this is the place to rent ;-)
Stayed at Maureen's place for two weeks. Had a lovely stay in her huge basement suite! Nice quiet neighbourhood and lovely hosts! Thanks so much Maureen for a great stay!
