If you come to Tunis, and want to experience the genuine atmosphere of the Medina, you are welcome in our home.
We are two Engineers in our mid-twenties who are currently setting up a Nonprofit association that encourages social development in Tunisia. We enjoy hosting and getting to know people from all over the world and we look forward to sharing our home in the historical and beautiful Medina of Tunis with you.
The main room, richly decorated, can welcome up to 4 people, with 2 separate beds and one alcove for 2 people, with a bathroom and a sitting corner. This room is available at 60e/night/person or 75e/night/the whole room.
The smaller room is very simple, white and peaceful, with a double matress on the floor for two persons - we can offer it at 30e/night/person.
A 10 minute walk will bring you to the best city restaurant, Dar El Jeld. But if you prefer popular and cheaper food you can also find it on the other direction, at Bab Souika.
We are very close to Dar Lasrem Palace (2 min walk), the Kasbah (10 min walk), Jamaa Zitouna, the souks etc. ,and 20 min walk to Avenue Bourguiba. You can also take a cab to visit Le Bardo Museum, or walk through the famous village of Sidi Bou Saïd, or to La Marsa Beach, both 20 min by car. If you prefer fresh fish, go to La Goulette!
I'm sure you will enjoy discovering the city by foot, and coming home to the tranquility of a peaceful evening. It is a special experience to live in the Tunis Medina, which is both lively and peaceful.
Respect is the keyword.
The room was roomy and comfortable. I really liked the handpainted tiles! The best part was Taieb's hospitality though; he really made me feel welcome, and it was great to talk with him and find out more about Tunisia and it's people.
Taieb and his brother were helpful, especially when I arrived so late. The apartment is lovely, with beautiful old features (although the room is a bit cold in March). They made me feel very comfortable and welcome. I would definitely stay again.
This is the ideal AirBnB. Perfect location, reasonable price, beautiful room, great hosts.
I stayed for three days at Taieb's house. I had a very good time and nice chats with his flatmates and friends, they were all very helpful and nice. The house itself is nicely situated in the Medina and near the Zitouna mosque. The room I stayed in is quite large and looked like some of the old mansions I visited in the Medina. The bathroom is not very well maintained and the wifi signal is a bit poor but that did not significantly affect my stay. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and I would recommend staying at Taieb's house.
Abbiamo fotografato tutto. Rivogliamo indietro i nostri soldi immediatamente.
We are people that fit sleep anywhere but this time it was impossible. The room had no curtains and facing the courtyard , even the glass door was covered in more and would not close . The room was damp and cold , lacked the sheet and pillow covers, lights , the bathroom was dirty and no hot water , there were no towels , all the accommodation was dilapidated and not corresponding to the description , in the kitchen there was even coffee . The closet in the room was full of trash and smelled of mold as the entire room , we slept fully dressed for cold weather only the first night and went to the hotel for the second , we paid for a three star hotel near the medina perfect the same money of the room , it was not possible to find solutions , everything had to be completely renovated . One thing is the typical appearance , another a ruined house . We photographed everything. WANT our money back immediately .
Great location within the heart of the maze that is the Medina. The home has tremendous character, and the people that live within it are warm and friendly. Great experience.
Taieb and his housemates made me feel immediately welcome and at home and I enjoyed a wonderful time in their company. The medina is an extraordinary place and worth the effort to find your way into it - make sure you have a map/guidebook and study the streets carefully to wind your way through the souks and narrow alleyways. Clearly there is a trade-off to make in terms of comfort and services, but if you don't mind sporadic wifi and don't need to be waited on hand-and-foot then I thoroughly recommend Taieb's place. I'd be delighted to go back there.
I'm currently studying information technology engineering. I like to meet people from all over the world.
I love reading, and of course meeting my friends to go to cultural activities. My fiancée says I'm not a bad cook ;-)
This is some of my interests, but in reality they are wide as the world :-)
