Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
You’ll love our place because it's very clean and cozy. Our central location is only blocks from the Roosevelt light rail station. Beautiful Greenlake and urban forest, Cowen Park, are both blocks away. Gorgeous coffee shops, award winning restaurants, PCC Co-op, Wholefoods, tacos, pho, Thai, & Indian restaurants all within blocks. The soaking tub with endless hot water, freshly ground local coffee, & Smith Teas. Our place is great for couples, solo adventurers, & business travelers.

The space
Private newly remodeled 450 sq. ft. suite with high end finishes. Entire top floor of 1923 bungalow with private 4 piece bathroom (Large soaking tub & shower!), private patio and entrance.

Just a few blocks from Greenlake, Roosevelt light rail station, and is centrally located in Seattle.

Tempur Pedic queen sized bed with Brooklinen down comforter, heated floors, small desk, as well as antique two-seater school desk for enjoying coffee or eating breakfast. Kitchenette features mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee pot & tea kettle. Host will provide freshly ground Caffe Vita coffee, Smith teas and creamer of your choice as well as sugar in the raw, splenda and local honey. (And is happy to gather any other accoutrements for you.)

Kitchenette is perfect for those wanting to warm up leftovers, having a pastry or yogurt/granola & hot drink in the morning. (Not ideal for more involved cooking.)

We live on a busy road, and although the space is insulated and fairly quiet considering location, it’s good to note for people who have a hard time sleeping with road noise. People often note that the road noise is quieter than they would have thought, but it is in a city on a busy road. In the past year 4 older windows were replaced to help quiet the space and it does seem to have had an impact on road noise, but the space may not work well for people sensitive to road noise.

Host's family of 2 adults and 1 seven year old child lives in the house below.

Ear plugs and sound machine are provided, and we hope it is and people often find it to be better than described noise wise, but it is not without its noises.

Street parking is free and it’s rarely a problem to find something close.

Guest access
There's a separate entrance in the back of our home that you’ll access from 6th Ave. NE. You'll find your own private path, petit patio and private entrance. There's a door that connects our home to the space, but there are locks on both sides and we will not disturb you by opening the door. The door is sealed at the bottom and has a tight fit at the top. We've also installed a sound proofing panel on the door to help cut down on the noises you'll hear.

Other things to note
Because the space is the top floor of our home where we live full time there are times when we can hear each other moving about, which is something to be aware of if you are planning to stay here. My husband, child, and I are sound sleepers and will be mostly impervious to most of your movements and noises. As it’s an old house you’ll likely hear our footsteps, talking sounds, coffee grinder, blender, etc. We do keep and ask that guests keep quiet hours from 11 pm-6 am so we can all rest well. This means loud talking and laughing or loud music, tv, or phone conversations but please come and go as you please during these hours, take baths, watch tv, have quiet conversation. We aren’t that picky.

There is a noise machine and ear plugs provided for you, as well as a bluetooth speaker if you have your own white-noise app you enjoy using.

During the day you'll likely hear our kid being a 8 year old when they're not at school; sometimes a quiet 8 year old and sometimes a louder one. Most times they aren't too wild, but they have their moments.

Our kid sleeps well most nights, so you probably won't hear too much from them after 7 PM. We typically get going around 7:00 AM.

Neighborhood highlights

Our house is located 4 blocks from light rail station and from Greenlake Park which is a great park for walking/running. There’s a foot/bike path around the lake (Apx. 2.8 mile path). Also, a public indoor pool and place to rent small boats and paddle boards. It has two beaches for swimming in the summer and is great for watching sunsets too. We are also apx. 4 blocks from urban forest Cowen Park with miles of great hiking trails and old growth evergreen trees.

We are a couple of blocks from numerous local coffee shops, restaurants (Indian, Thai, Vegan, Breakfast, German), pubs, yoga studios, gyms, markets (Whole Foods & Local Co-op PCC), bike stores, book stores, among many other cool walkable places. We are about a mile from James Beard Award winning restaurants and are centrally located in the city of Seattle.

We love to share our favorites. We’ll provide a list, and are also happy to give recommendations for our neighborhood and all of Seattle.
