The neighbourhood is filled with many flourishing activities, this is an underrated part of Bangkok. You will find many expatriates staying in this area, drawn to its suburban lifestyle and the intimate connection to the locals. This is a place where you can truly experience how a Thai local lead his/her daily life.
There are many food stands around the area. The street leading up to the apartment is filled with local fares in all manners. Nearby shopping malls, such as the Fortune Tower and Central Plaza Rama 9, also provide great restaurant choices. There are a few bars and pubs around, too, with one, 'Proper Job', being very popular with expatriates staying in the neighbourhood.
Ratchadaphisek, generally shortened to Ratchada, breathes entertainment. Ratchada area is almost exclusively cater to a local Thai audience (foreigners are welcome though). This is an urban area for Thai city dwellers, offering an alternative to many of the tourist-crowded areas along Sukhumvit road and around Siam Square. There are many choices for food and shopping, with an area around Thailand Arts and Cultural Centre filled with interesting options. There is a PROM night market just next to Big C which offers a variety of chic fashion and Chatuchak-styled memorabilia.
The night scene in this area is young and vibrant. Friday and Saturday nights are the busiest, with Thai students in their late teens and early 20s flocking in great numbers to "RCA", a pedestrian-only road that stands for Royal City Avenue. Being a government-designated entertainment zone, clubs here stay open till 02:00, which is one hour longer than elsewhere in Bangkok. The bars and clubs which have spilled over beyond RCA onto the many sois Ratchadaphisek are rich.

I wonder how many words does one need to write about this issue to make it fully understandable.
Then there is the issue of a big cat sitting by the pool of the bed of roses where there will be a giant water lily waiting to float you across the skies and clouds to a place of destiny, a paradise of sorts, an oasis unparalleled in any other places on earth. So there, that is my humble home.

I stayed in Bangkok for 3 nights as I obtained my passport from the nearby Chinese embassy. I never got to meet Leo himself, but he made sure that I was properly introduced to the apartment through one of his friends. The apartment is off Soi 3 Ratchadaphisek, which is itself filled with stores, food stands, pharmacies, massage places, restaurants, and such essentials. It's a fair walk away from the main Ratchadaphisek road, but motorcycle taxis are available to take you there for 10 Baht or so, and once there, a couple of shopping centers are a block away, and both of them are linked to the Phra Ram 9 MRT station, which will connect you to the rest of the city.
The room itself is great - it has its own bathroom, the bed is large and comfortable, and the A/C works splendidly. The provided WiFi connection only allows for one device to be online at a time, which was a bit awkward, but sufficient.
I had a very comfortable stay at Leo's, and would certainly come back if/when I'm in town again. Thanks Leo!
The good house, the good location. Especially if you need a chinese or hong kong visa. The embassy is in 7 minutes walk. Exactly what we have expected. Not far from house is Tesco/Lotus If you want cheap and clean food and big malls if you want shopping. MTR, Airport line and ferry station are not far from the house too. We like this place, thanks for hospitality.
Leo is a nice host, he helped us pretty much about the area.
The room is ok, but mattress feels like you are sleeping on a piece of wood. The bathroom is clean. Location is a quite hard to find, better to ask people. There aren't restaurants in the area, only 7 Eleven. The street is calm and quiet.
The room is ok just for one or two nights.
I was in Thailand for 10 days mainly to take a photos and enjoy the night life of Bangkok. Leo's appartment is located close to the heart of Bangkok and could be reached easily by City Link or taxi (incl. TUKTUK). For me it was easy to reachfrom there both city center and Suvarnabhumi airport (I visited also Island of Phuket). Near the appartment I found very tasty streetfood as well as good and cheap massage.
Leo is very friendly.
The apartment was clean, light but small. It was perfect for solo traveler.
There was no lift. You need to walk to 5th floor, but quite easy to walk. It was a good exercise.
I liked the location. There were many street food. It took 15 minutes to walk to the MRT station.
I would like to stay for a week next time.
Thanks Leo and Kan.
A wonderful experience
Leo was a great host and took care of everything
the apartment clean and perfect connections to the city center are close by and easy to take
the neighborhood of the apartment is full of shops and restaurants
really a heartfelt thanks to Leo !!!
A nice place. Some negatives: Bed was hard and it was a bit noisy (neighbour's air-con). It's a bit of a walk to the subway station.
Would book again!
Well situated either to the Airport and to the Center of Bangkok. Actually, exactly what I needed After my Long flight to recover. What I liked is that the Place is Not packed with tourists. So I could have a Look how live is besides the famous places in bangkok!
Leo is a very friendly and helpful host. There were protests by the time I was in Bangkok, so Leo helped me with reorganizing my programme. The apartment is clean, comfortable and has good access to public transport.
Leo was a great host, checked up on me to make sure everything was okay and gave good advice on attractions and places to visit. The place is perfect for solo travelers or couples as it is quite small, but everything was clean and in good working condition. The mattress is very firm, but that really wasn't an issue as I was able to fall asleep without problems every night. About a 15 min walk to the nearest MRT station with lots of 7-11 stores and cheap street food along the way. I would recommend this place!
