Here in Chicago no matter what time of year you visit, there is so much to experience and explore and see! We provide temporary housing short term or long and a vacation rental service so you can experience all Chicago has to offer but not have to pay hotel prices to get them.
We guarantee you will love being a few blocks from awe-inspiring Lake Michigan. We are right off Lake Shore Drive and about 30 minutes from the city by public transportation (CTA). Great location! You are close enough to the city to enjoy all the city has to offer and you are far enough away that you sleep quietly in this peaceful tree lined neighborhood.
Our neighborhood is safe, a few walking minutes from the Red "L" line (the train station was just renovated), grocery store, fun dining and three blocks from the Lake Michigan and Hollywood Beach. The bike and walking trail along the lake begins here and it is a delightful thing to walk, jog or bike on. Yes, you can do that even during the winter months.
The apartment is a little over 1900 sq. ft. and for Chicago that is big! We have vintage charm with new amenities throughout the apartment. We love to decorate and our look is always very warm and inviting.
The room you will be staying in is spacious and at the same time has a cozy feeling and the decorations are easy on the eyes, extremely comfortable double bed. The room has WiFi.
We provide fresh coffee every morning of your stay and a bottle of wine for your first night with us! Red or White, you choose!
Our animals three cats and one dog are quite friendly and love everyone.
We are most happy to help guide you to fun activities in
Here is a review from two of our guests who stayed with us..."Tim and Kate are consummate hosts - so welcoming and fun - we just wish we had had more time to visit with them and get to know them. Their household is comprised of the two of them, in addition to three very sweet kitties and Fergus! What a great dog - we took several pictures of the four of them. And their apartment was a lovely oasis where we felt free to relax and have downtime - very comfy surroundings with a large front balcony and even a back porch - both filled with flowers and interesting and artistic touches. And Tim made great coffee each morning. Kate really has an eye for color and design, making their home a very restful and beautiful place. Three blocks from the lake and two from the El - it is perfect!! We'll be going back, for sure!"
We have been here for almost 8 years and have enjoyed having numerous guests share our home and we hope you stay with us soon.
Let our home be yours. Relax and let us help you make your visit to Chicago an adventure you will treasure.
PLEASE NOTE WE ARE ON THE THIRD FLOOR, THERE IS NO ELEVATOR.
You have access to our entire apartment, except our bedroom.
We talk with our guests and try to make them feel comfortable in our home.
I love that our neighborhood has families, singles, straight, gay, lots of dogs, lots of trees, so close to the lake and public transportation. It is a real neighborhood.
Public transportation is within walking distance of our home. Bus and train alike.
Be sure you are not allergic to animals since we have some. Also no heavy cooking in our home. We prefer our guests who are short term to eat out and our long term guests do little cooking or use the microwave.

Like walking into a cozy summer oasis in the middle of bitter winter. I loved the" decor", including the 3 fabulous cats and one spectacularly wonderful dog. I was visiting Chicago under difficult circumstances, and Kate and Tim made me feel like one of the family. They had a bottle of wine waiting for me when I came, took my bags in, and talked with me about their latest projects. The apartment is convenient to public transportation and to the Lake ( although I didn't avail myself of that perq in the Polar Vortex weather). There are several inexpensive and delicious restaurants within a few blocks, and the bed...ahhhh...one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Hope to stay with them again in the future.
I stayed with Kate and Tim for 3 summery months and it was absolutely wonderful! They were the perfect hosts in every single way - friendly, considerate, and neat. The room itself is very nice, complete with a closet, desk, drawers, bookshelf, and extremely comfortable pillow-top queen bed. I loved their pets too, especially Fergus who is a sweetheart! The location is ideal, with plenty of street parking, a short walk away from the red line, and great restaurants nearby. Lastly, I absolutely loved relaxing in their decks, especially during a nice warm Chicago day. I highly recommend staying at this place!
Just to let all you Airbnb browser's look no further.. Kate and Tim have it going on... even if I was from Chicago and knew my way around. Their place is wonderful.. My family wore me out so by the time I went to Kate and Tim's is was nite nite time.. Kate and Tim are very social people and sweet. The apt. is comfy and welcoming... My main and favorite thing was the BED!! SO COMFY !! I didn't want to get up and get going.. will stay again when all the family gets together.. Thank you Kate and Tim.. I will spread the word about you guys.. take care and hope to see ya soon..
I greatly appreciated Kate and Tim's generosity and sensitivity to my being a guest in their home. I had privacy when I needed it, and yet they were available when I needed information about the neighborhood or a good-afternoon hello. I think those who enjoy pets will especially enjoy their time here, with the three cats, each a interesting individual, and, of course, Fergus, with his furry heart of gold. Thanks Kate and Tim!
I had a lovely one-month stay. Kate and Tim are warm and welcoming hosts, and the apartment is altogether charming with easy access to public transportation. Be sure to try some of the wonderful neighborhood restaurants, especially Broadway Cellars, just steps from the front door. I fell in love with their pets, too, especially the eldest cat Winnie. 5-stars! I will definitely stay with Kate and Tim again.
My boyfriend and I was staying in Kate's house for 2 nights only, but we pretty enjoyed the stay because the house and our room are exquisitely decorated and truly homely with cute pets, Kate and Tim are really easy-going and nice people and tried their best to help us to get around the house and nearby restaurants, and also public transports such as bus and metro are easily accessible as well! We'll definitely stay in Kate's house again when we visit Chicago again!
My hosts, Kate and Tim, were easy to talk to and very accommodating. I loved the kitties and Fergus. Fergus is very sweet but he did growl at my twice. The first time was on my second day when I bent down to pet and whisper to him, and once when I tried to grab his chicken while playing with him. I learned to respect his boundaries. Don't grab his Chicken. ;) Also if you are sensitive to the smell of cat liter, be mindful. I also was unaware that they had a roommate until I arrived. It was a bit of a surprise, but I only saw him once. He kept to himself.
Overall, I had a wonderful time. I felt safe in the home at all times. The neighborhood is beautiful with easy access to public transportation. Kate is a gifted gardener and has a mind for detail. The place is lovely. Tim and Kate both are gifted actors, and I enjoyed hearing about their work. Kate also took the initiative to wake up at 5am to make sure I caught my taxi to the airport. That was really kind. I would stay with them again.
Great location, beautiful house. Kate let us use her bikes that really added to my experience in Chicago. I loved their cat Elliot and Newman and dog fergus.
The balcony and the deck is so beautiful and serene.
just know that if you are carrying heavy suitcase, you have to lug it all the way up to the third floor and down.
It's a shared bath- so anyone who has problems with shared bath, this might not be for them.
Kate keeps the place clean and beautiful and anyone who is welcome to stay there have to follow some of the 'house rules', like in any other place.
This house is in a peaceful neighborhood, no noise at night or day, close to the lake and restaurants (you can walk there)
This is such a great location for visiting Chicago! The lake and all the great trails that run along the beaches are a 10 minute walk away and the "L" is about 2 blocks. Kate, Tim and all their animals are very friendly and accommodating. Kate brought me fresh fruit and muffins from the farmers market on my first morning and provided me with maps, magazines, etc. with a bunch of info on what to do in Chicago. I honestly spent very little time at their apartment, but because of the location, friendliness, balcony gardens and accessibility I would definitely come back!
I subtracted one star (should be 1/2 star) because I ended up staying in a room one level below Kate and Tim in an area of the apartment that wasn't as "homey." It wasn't dirty or unkempt, but there were sheets on the furniture and it just didn't feel as welcoming. Very minor since I pretty much only slept there, but I don't feel like I could give my visit a perfect score because of this.
Gracious hosts. Really enjoyed my stay. Location was outstanding, felt right at home and would recommend to anybody.
