About this listing
You'll have a spacious apartment on first floor with plenty of room for a family meal, or to decompress after your day. I live in the apartment upstairs so I am hosting you in my own home, but you'll have the entire, separate, downstairs unit all to yourself.
This is where my friends and family stay when in town. I'm passionate about hospitality, I have borrowed ideas from working in hotels for 20ish years.
I am also constantly upgrading the unit
You'll have a very spacious apartment on first floor with plenty of room for a family meal, or to decompress after traveling and site seeing.
I live in the apartment upstairs so I am truly hosting you in my own home, but you get the entire downstairs unit all to yourself.
Two bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment in the Tower Grove area. One block from the Missouri Botanical Garden, a couple blocks from Tower Grove Park, and only a 10 minute drive to downtown St Louis.
The South Grand area is about a 15 minute walk away, and there you can find restaurants, bars and an international grocery store.
The apartment has wireless internet, a washer/drier in the basement, full kitchen. You will have the 1st floor apartment in a 2 unit home, and I live upstairs so anything you need that's not downstairs I am happy to loan out.
There are 2 queen beds in the apartment. I also have a Queen sized pull out couch and a queen air mattress that is available to loan out, and a large couch that can easily sleep 1. The # accomodated is just my standard maximum number, but comfortably it can sleep 4 couples (with the air bed).
The apartment also has a TV that is hooked up to a computer. While there is not cable, you are able to use the computer to watch shows/movies through hulu, netflix etc.
Check in/check out times are 4PM check-in and 11 AM checkout. The times given are the times that I would need if I were to have someone else coming in/leaving that day, but they are definitely flexible. As it gets closer to your reservation, we can discuss different check in/out times.
FYI I have a dog who spends time in the backyard but if you are not a dog person, I can leave him in the house during your stay.
A spacious, full kitchen. Games, puzzles, cards and books all waiting for you. A dinning room with a table that is set up for four but can be stretched to accommodate eight. A comfy living room. There is a grill out back you are welcome to use it is connected to the houses gas so no need to bring charcoal or propane- I'm currently prepping to put in a patio. so unfortunately things aren't hospitable yet. However it is a secure back yard to let your pooch run around.
Interaction with Guests
I have worked as a concierge, and currently bar-tend in a hotel. I understand the city very well, and your wanting to go explore it. I love people (It is why I Airbnb) I am very available to you, but essentially you won't likely bump into me at all unless it is expressed. My downstairs apartment is all yours while you are here.
I come from a large family and live alone, so I love having some life downstairs, feel free to make some noise!
Contrarily I am very quiet and an avid reader, I've left plenty of old books downstairs. Feel free to take one.
The neighborhood is quiet, and full of beautiful old houses. It is great for walking to many coffee shops, wine bars, and ethnic restaurants. The neighborhood is bordered on one side by a large park, and on the other by the Missouri Botanical Gardens
Other Things to Note
There are also plenty of extra linens, towels, blankets and pillows in the hall closet.
Please, simply: Leave the place better or the same as you found it. Keeping in mind the guest following you, and their arrival time. Thanks
This is a non-smoking home
Belle maison très agréable et bien équipée dans un quartier très sympa près du Jardin botanique, séjour parfait.
Chris's place was exactly what we needed.] for our short stay in St. Louis. It was close to everything and the area was nice. He left a pass for the Botanical Gardens although we did not have time to go this time. The apartment was clean, comfortable and exactly as advertised. We would definitely chose to stay here again!
we stayed with our three kids, the apartment was spacious and nicly furnished. chris is a lovely host, he came to meet us and checked if everthing was fine. it was very hot at st.louis at the time, so we were really happy about the very good air condition of the house! the neighbourhood is very charming but purely residential, so without a car we had to walk 15 minutes to the nearest grocery, but there are busses around the corner. and the marvellous botanic garden is just beside.
Chris was a fabulous host he checked in on us on the first day to make sure we had everything we needed and the tower grove area is perfect to walk around and for families to enjoy with great places to eat. The space was perfect for two families with young kids. Thank you to chris for being a great host!!
Great little gem near the botanical garden for the price. My family and I had a great time and were super close to everything. Chris is a great host! And the kids loved his dog. Thanks Chris!

Great neighborhood, very spacious place with character and Chris provides everything you need including excellent recommendations for the surrounding area!
Our stay was fantastic. Chris is a wonderful host... very friendly, available, accommodating. The location is great. Historic neighborhood, easy access to main roads and freeways. The apartment has the character and charm that only an old house can have; kitchen is large and well equipped. We all just felt like we were home. Thank you so much!
