Christine made us feel very welcome as she left some goodies in the kitchen which stocked with a good amount of kitchenware. There was plenty of toiletries, towels and bedding. The listing of the property was accurately portrayed in the pictures. It is an older home that Christine has started to renovate and rejuvenate. There are newer light switches and fixtures, an amazing amount of electrical plugs everywhere for our electronics, fast free internet, AC and Heater worked great and a good security system that we did not use as the house is located in a great neighborhood with lots of food within about 3 minutes of driving. Try ACME grocery store's bakery and Mama's Pizzeria's Philly Cheesesteak. Yum. At this time, the house will probably not work for you if you are looking for a modern, super clean home, although I believe the house will get closer to this over time as Christine cares about her house. The house feels homey and feels like you can sit back and relax and settle in and we were happy to spend the majority of our 4 days in the house as we were in town for two college graduations and rest. The house does not currently have large HD TVs, which was a slight disappointment for my mom and college graduate but we didn't come to Philly to watch TV so for us it was fine and cable does have lots of channels. The house is situated on a corner. The front side is on a fairly busy street but the street noise was never an issue and actually was good for freeway access. The other street leads to surrounding houses which are beautiful and families are outside playing and was fun to walk around. Most of the rooms were bigger than I expected except for the kitchen and the upstairs bathrooms which are average size and normal to this era of home. There is a downstairs master with good size, newer bathroom and large walk-in closet with a smaller adjoining family room that is private. Upstairs there are 3 more bedrooms all good size, one with a washer dryer unit behind a folding door, full bath and also a small walk-in closet. A shared bathroom upstairs for the other 2 bedrooms and another 1/2 bath down which was new. The stairway is a bit steep (not abnormally so), but for severely walking-impaired I would have them stay in the bedroom downstairs. This was our first time using airbnb and we were happy we chose Christine's home. We would stay here again if we were in Philadelphia. This house is perfect for larger families.
Christie's house was perfect for our trip to Philadelphia. It's close to the city yet far enough away as not to feel like your in the city. The accommodations were perfect for the eight of us. Christine was great to work with and responded immediately whenever I contacted her. I would definitely would stay here again.
Christine made us feel very welcome, leaving a bowl of goodies for us and contacting us a few days before our stay to give us instructions re the alarm etc. However, the alarm code we were given was incorrect, resulting in the alarm going off when we tried to access the house. Fortunately we were able to contact her and solve the problem.
The listing was accurate, with 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms and a powder room. The location suited our purpose, but the house is on a very busy road, so lots of traffic noise.
One major complaint for a house this large and expensive - PLEASE provide drawers in the main bedroom downstairs! Plenty of hanging space but not a single drawer. I had to put my clothes on the table at the foot of the bed!
Thank you for the constructive feedback. The alarm system was newly installed, the code was correctly given, the alarm system faulted. The system has been fixed. I'm sorry the noise outside was bothersome to you, it is right on the outskirt of the city. I apologize for your inconvenience of lacking drawers, my reasoning for not having drawers in that one bedroom is because the closet is the size of a small room with tons of storage shelving space & lots of hanging space, so I decided against a dresser. Maybe this will something to consider in the future. I'm glad you enjoyed your goodies & had a great stay
It's really nice house!!! And the host Christine she's really kind to help her guests!!! When we stay in her house before, we have many questions and problems to ask her(about transportation to Philadelphia central city. And we need to check-in really early, but she help us to check the last day have others guests stayed if have she did clean house soon. And because we have boys and girls stay here, she arranged the beds for our need in every rooms.(It's really hard work)) We need to say thank you very much to all your help and you are sweet host! And house it's excellent! Even the house not in central city(but not too far and easy to go central), there scenery so beautiful, comfortable, artistic and romantic atmosphere. There have many restaurants and shops too!
Okay!!! For the important, the house also excellent! Big house, clear, new, we like this house decorated!!!!!!
Excellent host, great location. Safe neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Christine was very friendly and enthusiastic about our visit. She immediately responded to all questions and requests.
Our stay was great! The house was clean and ready for us when we arrived. We enjoyed the treats in the welcome basket. Just what we needed after a long drive. Our family gathered for our son's wedding in Havertown so the location was very convenient. It was so nice to be together in a home instead of renting hotel rooms. I would recommend this lovely and comfortable home to anyone looking to stay in this area. Our stay couldn't have been better!
