We had a great time staying in Alix's flat! Although he was out of town when we arrived, he let us know beforehand and gave us the number to his assistant who was just as helpful and waiting for us when we arrived. The space is unique, clean, and has very easy access to public transportation. The couch folds out into a bed which could be helpful if a third person needs to stay the night. Overall we enjoyed the neighborhood and apartment and found the wifi device to be useful while we were out and about.
Good apartment, nice location, helpful host - everything you need for a stay in London. Thanks.
Great place! Perfect location with nice neighbourhood. It's very close to the two tube stations. There's a bus stop in front of the door as well. You can also take a nice walk to the Camden, Abbey Studios and Regent Park along the Regent's Canal (Little Venice).
The apartment is really beautifull, clean, cosy and well equipped. However is quite small - perfect for 2 (or couple with kid).
However we haven't met Alix there was a perfect communication with him and even late check-in went smooth.
Definitely we recommend Alix's apartment and hope to back there soon!
We had a great time in London! Alix's flat is very conveniently located. It's in a quiet and nice neighbourhood. We took the number 6 bus always everyday. The stop is right in front of the building. Pros: It's a small but well equipped flat; very close to all the big tourist spots; Alix provided us with the portable wifi device. Good value for money. It is in one of the most expensive cities. Cons: the flat is on the top floor and you have to climb the narrow stairs to go up; small things in the flat doesn't work, like the fan in the bathroom; it's very small flat. Two ppl can be comfortable in it but its very crammed for three.
I would recommend this place for someone who wants to stay in central London on a budget. Alix and his partner are very nice and prompt to respond my inquiries.
Our stay was terrific in Maida Vale, the apartment was all that we were looking for. It was clean, comfortable and we had continual support and contact with Alex throughout our stay.
We would happily stay here ion another visit to London and would highly recommend this space for anyone looking for a few days in a lovely suburb.
Maida Vale is a lovely quiet part of London with the Prince Alfred Pub a must visit and the apartment is across the road from a general store and 5-10 minute walk from Warwick Avenue station.
Note: It is quite small, however there is plenty of room on the to floor for storage etc and adequate room to cook (Alex also provided us with cooking utensils for our stay).
Alix's studio is exactly as advertised. Clean, comfortable, cosy and well equipped. The studio is situated in a beautiful and quiet section of London with access to 2 tube stations a short walk away and bus stop just in front of the buiilding. The lovely canals of Little Venice are an easy walk away.
Alix and his partner, Jurgita were gracious and efficient to deal with. Jurgita greeted us on schedule and explained how everything worked and then left us to our privacy however they were just a phone call away. WIFI reception was excellent with the bonus to have it as a mobile WIFI with us all day long wherever we went.
I'd highly recommend Alix's studio to anyone!
We stayed in Alex's flat for 2 weeks whilst we were re-visiting London from Australia. After having previously lived in London for 2 years we couldn't bear the thought of staying in a hostel or a hotel, but would rather stay somewhere where we felt pretty much at home and completely comfortable. This was certainly achieved in Alex's flat! We were greeted so kindly by his partner after arriving and then pretty much left to our own devices after that, which was perfect. It was like living in London again, really, which we loved. The apartment itself was very clean and cosy. The layout is very unique - though it might be small for more than 2 people, it was fine for us. It has a full kitchen complete with cooking utensils and crockery and a washing machine; very useful!! We'd also like to thank Alex for the very helpful mobile internet/3G dongle. The location couldn't have been better with buses into Central London (via Edgware Rd/Oxford St/Regent St/Park Lane) running frequently and one 24 hours. The tube (Maida Vale or Warwick Avenue) was also very close by (about 5 min walk). If you're staying a week or more, buy a 7 day travel card to save money! We also enjoyed many walks along Little Venice, where you can walk all the way to Regents Park (via Regents Canal, about 30 mins?) or to Paddington and beyond (cut through Hyde Park to reach South Kensington etc.). As you can see, the location was wonderful. Thanks Alex for a great stay! We will definitely be booking again when we return sometime!
My friend and I stayed at Alix's flat for about a week and a half and have nothing but positive things to say about it. It's in a very nice and safe area with amazing access to public transportation. The flat itself was very clean and was just what we were expecting. We actually ate many of our meals in and had everything we needed to cook decent meals.
The wifi card is amazing! Definitely a lifesaver - except for when we used up all of the data on it in the first few days. Alix was amazing in helping us obtain a new sim card though so we were set for the rest of our trip.
We didn't have any problems with the stairs leading up to the flat or the stairs inside (just watch your head when going up to bed). We did leave our luggage in the living area though. Two females and 10 days’ worth of luggage...we didn't have any problems with leaving our suitcases in that area either.
The neighbors and noise seemed to only be a problem when we slept in (9/10ish in the morning). It wasn't so much that they were noisy as much as it was the walls just being thin. It was never obnoxious noise - just tv/talking noise.
Overall, our experience was amazing and if I ever go back, I will, without a doubt, be staying here!
Staying in Alix's apartment was the perfect place to stay for a relaxing week in London. It is located within easy reach of Maida Vale and Warwick Avenue tube stations. The apartment itself is clean and comfortable and a great size for 2 people. We found the bed particularly comfortable as well. Personally, I didn't find the stairs an issue and they were definitely doable with luggage. The area is safe and quiet and has numerous places to eat.
Alix is a kind and generous host. He took the time to get to know my boyfriend and I- a rarity when it comes to most Airbnb hosts. We was very easy to communicate with and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay at the this apartment.
When I saw the pictures of the apartment online, I was blown away. When I got to the building, it reeked of cigarettes and the rugs leading to the apartment looks like they haven't been vacuumed ever. When we got into the apartment, the very first thing we saw was greasy grime on the backsplash and crumbs on the counter as well as leftover food from previous guests. The bathroom mirror had water splashes all over it and the shower had soap scum on the doors. The bed and sheets were clean which was a redeeming factor, but as the days went on we couldn't help but feel uncomfortable due to the lack of basic hygienics. We were not happy with the customer service we received at all. I would think twice before renting this apartment.
