It’s a newly renovated apartment that overlooks the bay of Valparaiso. The view is unbeatable day and night. It has a well-tended garden, with different blooms depending on the season. Beyond the garden, you can see the roofs of the ravine, with beautiful cats that enjoy the sea view, placidly, freely and confident that life will provide.
It has an integrated living-dining-kitchen. Two futon (Prince size) very comfortable and practical. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, appliances and towels. All crockery is white (beautifully designed), therefore easy replacement. It has linen for the three beds (double bed and futons). All of the daily cleaning items are available. Radio / CD player with USB port and good speakers, small TV(not flat). The master bedroom suite with view has a large closet, a double bed and two nightstands with individual lamps. The bathroom is fully equipped. IMPECCABLE.
The building has administrative and cleaning staff. It has security cameras. For little money, you can get domestic service. The residents of this building are professionals and academics who undertook this project as partners a few years ago, and remain organized, so coexistence is respectful and pleasant.
To access you must walk up a staircase typical of Valparaiso, called Bocaccio, but you can easily arrive by car, taxi or colectivo, which is the usual way to get around Valparaiso. During mass celebrations, there are no possibilities for parking inside the building, but there is availability around. We who have lived here over the holidays, we thought it best to move on foot or by colectivos, because they are very cheap and run frequently: a real institution in Valpo. In addition, in Chile is forbidden to drive after drinking.
This department is a 15 minute walk, and 5 minutes by colectivo, from the gastronomic center of Cerro Alegre, and 10 minutes from Valparaiso Cultural Park. The distance is even less from Plaza Bismark and Puppet Theatre and Museum Clown.
This Department has a problem - for our family- … is so comfortable and so pretty sight. Sometimes we lose the urge to go out and stand contemplating the world offered us next to the greatest luxury of this era: free time to allow to elapse before our eyes.
Now: Internet, Wi Fi !
No derroches! No fumar adentro.
Two of us stayed in the apartment two weeks. Although the price jumped substantially from what was listed, they did end up giving me a decent deal. The condo is as pictured. Perfectly accurate. The hosts were responsive and helpful. The view is truly the best in the city, so if you're a view buff, this is for you. Close to Cerro Concepcion, the bohemian/tourist area. Also close to the clubbing area, Ecuador. Collectivo stops directly at the bottom of the stairs. Just tell them Cerro Carcel, Manzana Norte de Plaza Bismark to get back home. #s 40 and 27.. Perfect! We could've really used access to a laundry bc the one onsite ripped us off. We just washed our own clothes after that. No one's fault. We did our own dishes. Basically, loved it. Want to rent it again next summer. Thanks!!!
Had a wonderful time in Valparaiso. What a wonderful and unique city. Spectacular views, culture, food and great place to just relax. The apartment was clean and we felt like we were in our home away from home. Spectacular view. Wonderful hostess. Thank you.
We loved staying here! It was perfect for both a fun and relaxing stay in valpariaso. The view from the apartment is incredible! We would walk down and spend part of the day in the more touristy areas, but loved spending time relaxing in the apartment, enjoying the view. The bed was super comfortable, the curtains very dark and the area very quiet so we slept fantastically. The apartment is so cute and has everything you could need. Catalina is amazing and met us in Santiago and explained in detail how to get to the apartment, which collectivo to take (and what to say because we know very little Spanish) and also gave us a map and a list of places to go and things to see! She was super responsive and answered all our questions and made for a really lovely stay. I would absolutely rent this apartment again if I come back to the city and wholly recommend it to others.
I stayed here with 2 friends for one week in March, and it was definitely even better than we were expecting! The pictures don't completely do it justice- especially the incredible views from the living room window. The place was a perfect size for us, and we loved the location- a little ways away from the centre of town but we could still walk everywhere and it felt very safe. Catalina was a wonderful host and very easy to get in touch with; we had everything we needed.
The apartment was exactly what photos featured. The view mesmerising day & night. The apartment was clean and tidy. Easy to catch collectivo or taxi 'up the hill'. The steps get a wee bit of getting use to, but the sense of community in the apartment block was safe and friendly. Communication was very good considering I knew little Spainish. I recommend this apartment as the view was a defining feature in Valapariso for us.
The apartment just as pictured and the view from the apartment is wonderful. Not a large place, but we were comfortable. The owners were flexible upon arrival and departure which was very nice. The only drawback is the accessibility by car - the road, given it's location on Cerro Alegre, is difficult to navigate, and the stairs up / down are steep.
Loreto and Catalina's apartment is well-equipped with a phenomenal view. It looks exactly like the pictures. It was very convenient to grocery shop and cook for ourselves throughout the stay, and the kitchen has all of the basics available which was very nice.
Catalina was very helpful with getting us set up and answered our questions by email (in english) throughout the stay. There was a landlord on site who was around each day and helped us with calling a cab the last day.
We walked around mostly, but were unable to figure out the collectivos. The apartment is very far uphill and there is a lot of walking (the apartment itself is accessed in the middle of a large staircase).
The only warning I will have is that the area is out of the touristy area and me and my friend (both young females) did not feel comfortable walking around at night. That being said, I don't feel that Valparaiso is a place two young females should walk around anyways outside of the very touristy areas with restaurants. The apartment complex has a large locked gate on the outside which made us feel safe inside the apartment.
He viajado bastante, pero nunca suficiente.
