We apologize as we normally provide those guests who ask us the following information regarding our ski in and out situation for Morrisey Chalet at Sun Peaks:
HOW TO GET TO/FROM THE LIFTS AND VILLAGE:
FREE BUS/SHUTTLE: There is a free bus shuttle service available daily (available late November to mid April). This runs every hour from just after 8:30am to 4:30pm and it comes by and will pick up and drop off right outside Morrisey Chalet and will drop off/pick up right next to the Village Day Lodge (very close to the lifts). It loops around the village and doesn't really take very long. We have had a number of guests from Australia and New Zealand and they have commented on how great this bus service is for their convenience in getting right to the lifts.
FOR SKI-IN: For afternoon or a lunch return (if one wants to return by skiing/snowboarding to Morrisey Chalet by an easy route) there is a green (easy) trail ‘Fairways-Home Run-Mountain View’ from the top of the Morrisey Platter lift (or this connects from the run ‘Grand Return’ and some other black runs - including the amazing run Wringer - these also connect to this run). This trail comes back to just a little over a block away from our Morrisey Chalet. There is an intermediate run (Back in Time) and a more difficult run, Tumble Dry (from Mt Morrisey) which arrives after a short trail, close to our Morrisey Chalet (right across the street by skiing down a slope near our chalet - Note: we have three florescent balls hung from tree limbs to indicate the slope). On a powder day, you can have ski-in access from Mt Morrisey's new runs ‘Tumble Dry’ & 'Lint Trap' (I have had some amazing powder runs down Tumble Dry and Lint Trap this season).
FOR POTENTIAL SKI-OUT: And for ski out you can hike up the slope across the street and then ski-out to the Burfield chairlift. This is a bit challenging (we usually take the very convenient and free shuttle bus), however I know the people in a house just down the street, do this often.
NEW LIFT ON MORRISEY: Note, in 1 to 3 years we believe the new West Morrisey lift will be built just over a block away and will head up Mt Morrisey. The fact that they have created four/five new runs in the last two-three years coming down our way is an indicator of the commitment to the new chair lift in the near future.
So there are quite a few options in getting to and from Morrisey Chalet.
