Other Things to Note
The house is a historic property and is HUGE! Very roomy and perfect for large groups to hang out and enjoy the front or back porches and yards.
There are some basic rules. This is to make sure that everyone enjoys his/her time here as much as possible. The house was built in 1911. Old houses are dusty. There is 100-year-old hidden dust in every crack and crevice in this house and it does get stirred up! Please be kind and keep them in mind! Also please DO NOT MOVE FURNITURE....
To keep everything running smoothly please consider the following guidelines: If you use the kitchen to prepare food, please leave it the way you found it. Please do not eat or drink in bedrooms. There is a large dining room table for meals.
Open Door and Window Policy. Feel free to come and go as you please but remember to close and lock all doors and windows when you leave. This is for safety reasons and to minimize DUST!
No Shoe Policy. I would prefer that shoes not be worn in the house. It helps keep our home clean for all guests to enjoy. And you just might like the cozy and relaxed atmosphere it brings.
No Smoking or incense allowed on the property.
We had a perfect stay at G Maison! The house has great New Orleans character and is very spacious and comfortable for a large group (plenty of linens, kitchen supplies, etc.) The PIN code door lock made it easy to have individual schedules. It was an easy 20 minute walk to the French Quarter and a short taxi ride to other nearby neighborhoods. Highly recommend!
We loved staying here! Upon driving up to the house we were even more impressed with its charm. We fit 10 people comfortably. And had plenty of room to hire a private chef and enjoy dinner in the large dining room. It was an easy Uber ride to everything in New Orleans (and cheap!). There's a cute little street about a 10 minute walk away with nice restaurants, wine bar, and shops. Highly recommend this space for a group stay in New Orleans. Thank you Gianna!
We were a group of 8 friends and had a great time in Gianna's house. There was plenty of space for all of us. We liked especially the New Orleans flair of the house and the history you can explore in every corner. Gianna was a very responsive and helpful host. We had some special requests regarding check-in and check-out times which she tried to fulfill to maximum extend.
The area where the house is located at is probably not one of the best ones in New Orleans but very authentic and close to the French Quarter.
All in all the great house from Gianna was one of the reasons that our stay was unforgettable and I would definitely recommend her.
Gianna was an incredible host and met us personally when we arrived and introduced us to her historic home. It was really special for me and my family of 9 to come back to a beautiful and comfortable home every day after celebrating my brother's graduation and exploring the NOLA! There's everything that you could ever need for a stay here (linens, clean towels, laundry, kitchen supplies, space, comfortable beds). The place is clean and well kept, which we appreciated in our very detail oriented family. Since our family is used to hosting large get togethers, we really enjoyed cooking a crawfish and shrimp boil after a hot day touring the swamps. It was one of the highlights share a meal together in the dining room, relax, and unwind. Did I mention that this place is gorgeous and unique? You really do feel like you're living in nola for a week, which I think it better than any hotel. This was my 5th time visiting the city and the location was ideal for visiting both downtown (Bourbon, Frenchmen, etc) and uptown (Tipitina's, St. Charles). Technically, I think you can walk 15 min downtown, but we decided to drive most of the time with our big group. Bikes would be doable. We left after a week with great memories with family and friends. Thanks Gianna!
Gianna house was a brilliant place for a big group or family! Perfect distance to the french quarter we walked there one day but got taxis the rest of the time! The house was well equipped with everything we needed and the pin code lock was a great idea for a group as there were no keys involved which made everything so much easier! Thanks GIanna!
The house was absolutely perfect, and a very accommodating hostess. Easily walkable to the JazzFest fairgrounds, and a quick can to the Quarter. Front pouch was our favorite part of the house, which was our normal hang out spot. House was in great shape, very clean, and had a cool traditional New Orleans style. Plan on coming back next year!
We really enjoyed our stay here! Big house with plenty of room inside and outside. All the beds were comfortable and hose was very responsive.
Getting to the Quarter was easy, just jumped on the bus outside for $1.25, or you can walk the 15 minutes or so.
