  • Great home in a great neighborhood, especially if attending jazzfest or the fairgrounds. House is beautiful with lots of charms. Nice new kitchen and pletny of space. Would definitely stay there again!

  • This place is absolutely stunning. My and my friends had an amazing time over Thanksgiving. Gianna was absolutely lovely and very responsive. Great kitchen and living area with a nice courtyard to enjoy drinks in the sun with your friends. Great location too and would highly recommend to all.

  • Beware. The house is better suited for a movie set, it is not functional - 1 bedroom has a terrible mattress, doorknobs fell off the doors, and many doors and cabinets had no knobs at all (making it possible to lock yourself in a room). Master bath sink has zero water pressure making it useless and the towel racks were missing (only saw holes where they once were). Oven didn't work, which we had been counting on using. Downstairs shower literally exploded water out of the pipes when we tried to use it. Downstairs bedroom had a wasp infestation (we killed 50+ wasps and have photos to prove it --as well as a bucket of dead wasps we left behind for Gianna to witness). We advised Gianna of the problem immediately and, instead of simply calling an exterminator, she screamed at us denying the problem and said that if we didn't like it we could "f****ing leave!!" That is a quote. There is no excuse for such treatment. We were nothing but courteous and professional in our dealings with Gianna and treated her and the house with the utmost respect throughout the entire ordeal. We ended up asking Gianna, informally, to be partially refunded for the loss of use of the room due to the wasps (which we thought was fair, and simply common sense) and she refused denying there was ever a problem, necessitating AirBnB to sort it out via mediation. Because we were forced to mediate we thought the best way to handle would be for each guest (who stayed at the house and paid thousands of dollars to do so) to write in their own words their experience of what happened and submit it to the mediator. These statements were done respectfully and factually and only seen by the mediator. Once the mediator reviewed the situation, we were immediately refunded the cost of the room and other amounts as an apology for having to endure such a disturbing experience. A vacation we had been planning for 5 months with friends in from all over the country was completely ruined. We were forced to spend most of our time learning about and killing wasps and fixing showers, ovens and doorknobs. It was terribly stressful and disappointing. I have had nothing but positive experiences with AirBnB until this one.

    Response from Gianna:

The house is my HOME not a movie set. It is completely functional. Suzanne's expectations clearly were not met but I take great pride in my home. I also take issue with absolute lies. The experience of having her in my home was disturbing and upsetting. She did not kill 50 wasps. Not only has this guest denigrated my home, my property but also my character. Suzanne was the only person I spoke to or dealt with about this reservation but she encouraged her guests to attack me and comment on my behavior/professionalism, which is completely out of line.

The two instances where I tried to assist or resolve her complaints were misconstrued against me as an admission of “guilt”. As soon as she checked in, she wanted a refund - and I told her to leave if the house was not up to her expectations.

  • The house was fantastic. It is an old house, and with that comes some pitfalls (e.g. low upstairs water pressure, temperature variance within the home, dust, etc.), but it is beautiful, charming, and very well-maintained. Checking in and out was easy, and Kirah (the caretaker in Gianna's stead) was amenable and great to work with. If I return to New Orleans with a large group I would be more than happy to stay here again.

  • A group of friends rented the whole house for a week. We were very happy to be in such a beautiful house. The common areas are great to hang out, the beds are really comfy and the kitchen is nice to cook in. The host was super helpful in many ways. It is possible to walk to the French quarter although the host recommended us not to do so at night. Instead we took cabs that were reasonably priced. Overall, had a great time and do recommend this place.

  • Superbe maison du début du siècle, emplacement idéal et accueil parfait... rien à redire!
Gianna a été au petit soins pour nous! Maison à conseiller, nous y retournerons sûrement lors de notre prochain séjour à la Nouvelle-Orléans.

Beautiful house , ideal location and perfect welcome ... nothing to add!
Gianna was in small care for us! House to be advised, we shall return to it certainly during our next stay in New Orleans.

  • This house is gorgeous, and a perfect place to stay for a trip to New Orleans. It's even more spacious than the pictures let on, the kitchen is fantastic and the bedrooms were very comfortable. The sitting room had high-quality stereo speakers that we plugged our iPods into. We were able to walk to several delicious restaurants nearby, as well as Bourbon Street, Frenchman Street, Armstrong Park and the French Quarter. Best of all, when we visited a po boy restaurant on the corner, another patron pulled out his harmonica and started playing some fantastic blues, right out of nowhere. It was a perfect way to end the weekend, and shows how much character is in the neighborhood. Gianna was very nice, and responsive to my questions via e-mail and cell phone. The next time I come to New Orleans, I hope to stay in this house again.

  • My family, friends, and I came to New Orelans for a wedding. It happened to be the weekend after the Super Bowl and before Mardi Gras. Gianna's place was amazing. It was in a great location with great parking. The house was beautiful, clean, and well taken care of. All of the bedrooms were moderate sized to extra large. Gianna was a great host. She has a great personality and was fun to talk to. She knows the city inside and out so she was very helpful with directions and suggesting good places to visit, restaraunts, and parades to see. Gianna is a great cook and we really enjoyed her home cooked breakfasts. It was a real pleasure having her as a host.
