Check in times will vary depending upon my work schedule. If I have the day off, guests are welcome to check in anytime in the afternoon or possibly sooner if they ask me ahead of time. If I am working (my work schedule varies from week to week, so it's hard to determine if I will be working on a particular day or not) then check in will be before 9am and after 7pm, unless I can arrange to have a friend let you into the apartment. Please let me know as soon as you can as to the time you would like to check in during your stay and I will do everything I can to accommodate you.

If I have a new set of guests coming in the day that you are scheduled to check out, I ask that you be out of the bedroom by 9am. You're welcome to leave luggage in the apartment, however, but I need access to the bedroom to change sheets and clean. If there are no guests coming in that day then you're welcome to stay as long as you need.

We look forward to meeting you!

  • We spent a great week in NYC at Gina and John's home. We also don't forget Boo, your quiet and friendly dog. The place was clean and the room comfortable. Gina and John's advices were helpful in our visit to Manhattan, they are great hosts. We also met other travellers, it was nice.
    A great address to note!

  • Stayed a few days with Gina and John. John helped us get around and pick places to eat. Very accommodating and great sized room. I felt safe at night walking around the neighborhood and had a place to park my car the whole time. Quick walk to the subway too. I would stay here again. Both were very lovely and helpful.

  • This is a very clean, hospitable place in a safe and interesting neighborhood. John and Gina are great folks with stories to tell and innumerable suggestions about how to get around NYC and fun things to do. Staying with them is making a few new friends.

  • This was my first experience with airbnb and couldn’t be better. Gina and John are amazing. They are always ready to help and suggest you places to visit. The apartment is clean, the bed and room comfortable. Price very reasonable. The location is good, close to the subway. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again or to recommend it to others.

  • I never got to meet my hosts during my weekend in New York, but even at a distance Gina was extremely helpful and accessible via text/email. The room is pleasant, comfortable, and easy to find -- equidistant from the Winthrop Street and Parkside subway stations. If you're hungry, Flatbush and Franklin have plenty of options (I highly recommend Mango Seed). Prospect Park, even buried in snow, is also great for a morning stroll.

The apartment is about 40-minutes commute from midtown Manhattan, but it is still extremely easy to get to. As a first-timer in the City, I was actually happy to experience the trip via subway to and from the apartment. Of course the price is very good as well, more than making up for any time spent traveling. We went out fairly late on Saturday night and still had no trouble getting back to the room.

My trip was set back by a snowstorm but Gina was willing to improvise on the fly, making what could have been a very stressful trip into a very easy one.

One final note, the family dog (Boo) is adorable and very sweet.

  • Gina, John and Boo were perfect roommates! They waited for us till almost 1a.m. Gina and John know a lot about NY, so you can have lots of information from them. Moreover we enjoyed the dinner time when we had a chat with them about our day. Boo, lovely, was so polite, kind, and quiet. We liked to play with Boo!(she even speaks! ask Gina to show it!)
Room was tidy and cozy, blanket was sooo warm. And closet was wide enough to put two luggages! Also it is quite close to metro station.
Gina&John always greeted us with warm smile. ^_^ Don't hesitate to stay here where you can enjoy and learn NY a lot!

    Response from Gina:

Sorry you had to drag your luggage on the subway. Sometimes a taxi is easier with baggage -- but can be difficult to find in rain/snow/winter! Also, with your last minute booking we didn't have time to help you plan your arrival. Have fun in Boston!

Hello! We are Gina & John and Boo, the wonderdog. I, Gina, am a Massage Therapist, Colon Hydrotherapist and Yoga Teacher (ExhaleHealingArts), John is a Civil Engineer and native NYer and loves to send our guests on crazy sightseeing adventures all over the city. We commute to work via the handmade Bamboo Bicycles we built. We are active--swimming, rockclimbing, traveling, hiking, you name it! We moved NYC after living in Rincon, Puerto Rico (10 yrs!) where we surfed, worked and built an Earthdome on our 5-acre property. Yes, we miss it! Boo is our slinky, wiggly-waggly, rub my belly best friend.
