Great house, bright, clean, quiet, close to Venice beach 5 minutes by car.
You will be welcome by a lemon tree in the garden.
Cherry on the cake, there is a private parking for your car.
Leigh & Stephanie was easy to communicate.
Our stay at the Venice house was nothing short of perfect! Good location to Venice Beach and Whole Foods. Easy to find. Very clean! Just as appears in pictures. Perfectly fit four people. Stefanie was attentive and very quick to respond! Would absolutely stay again. Thank you for your hospitality!
The place was clean and light filled. The kitchen was well appointed, and there were some spices and coffee waiting for me. They also left a bottle of wine for me. It was great for my two day stay. And great location to explore Venice.
We arrived at the house and there was Leigh watering the front yard! He was very friendly and showed us how to get into the house, where to find keys, etc. and then promptly left us to our own devices (we were exhausted after flying in from NYC and visiting USC.)
The house was clean and quiet; they left us a bottle of Reisling and a couple of Toblerones to sweeten things up. The kitchen was stocked with basics, including olive oil, salt, sugar and coffee. It's a ten minute walk to Lincoln Blvd. where you can find an oddly named store called "Smart & Final Extra" where you can stock up on milk, bread and other staples for your stay.
The house was sparsely furnished with a kitchen table and 4 chairs, couch and tv set attached to Apple TV. We didn't realize that there was no antenna connected to the tv, so we had to go out for our PBS "fix" of Downton Abbey on Sunday night.
The beds were super cozy and one touch everyone should appreciate is the installation of blackout curtains in the room; there is a sodium vapor lamp in the neighbor's yard that casts light on the windows, and the curtains cut out the light completely. Nice touch, Leigh & Stephanie! These are the things that really make for a good night's sleep.
As I wrote, you can walk about 10 minutes to Lincoln for shopping and Benny's, which only serves great tacos, burritos AND these french fries that are battered and deep fried. Oh, you cannot get enough of these....
It is about a 15 minute walk to the beach in the opposite direction; the neighborhood is quiet and seems friendly. You should definitely drive over to the Venice canals to see the cute little houses (and drool over the waterfront property.)
We enjoyed our stay at Leigh & Stephanie's place and you will too!
We loved our stay in Venice at Leigh and Stefanie's. They were incredibly prompt and communicative throughout, the house is beautiful with comfortable beds, natural light, full kitchen ... The whole experience exceeded our expectations at every turn. Highly recommended!!
Super clean and cool spot close to all the good stuff in Venice. I really like the hide away front yard. thanks!!!
Leigh and Stefanie were great hosts and this bungalow was just what we wanted for a getaway to sunny LA. It's as bright and sunny and clean as it looks in the pictures. We had my 8-month-old son with us and they set us up with a high chair and pack n' play, which was awesome (= less for us to carry while traveling)!
This is the cutest little house I’ve ever seen! It was such a pleasure to stay here. The house is walking distance from all of the cool stuff Venice has to offer, including the beach, abbot kinney, amazing restaurants, etc. The bed I slept in was so comfortable that I was able to get the best sleep i’ve had in months while staying here! Leigh was very accomodating. Overall, a seamless experience!
Had a wonderful stay - so clean and comfortable! Highly recommend
Leigh and Stephanie are well on their way to having a 4.5 - 5 star rating. The positives are very strong: light, private, safe, and clean. The owners just had their first child on the night before we arrived. Despite fatigue, Leigh was very responsive to every request and gave us what we needed quickly.
We recommend that Leigh and Stephanie spend a weekend in the unit to get a sense of what it is missing. With a little more thought and attention, it could be a really nice, comfortable place.
It is much smaller than the pictures show and, as is, needs more to accommodate four people. The bedrooms each need a nightstand on the second side of the bed. The bathroom could really benefit from several more towel racks and possibly more shelves as the sink is very small. There was a cabinet for our use which was helpful.
The living room, dining room and kitchen were all one big space. That essentially works out fine but does not provide comfortable seating for four. There is one long couch facing a small television. Raise up the television, possibly get a bigger one, and put a second couch along the garden wall. Also, a lounge chair next to the couch would be helpful as well. There is a garden area that could have a larger table and nice chairs and would make eating and being outside a real asset.
The kitchen was reasonably well-stocked. Having more dish" towels (and hand towels and wash cloths for the bathroom would be very helpful. Saucers to go with the cute cups would be good. Another problem was a lingering unpleasant (to us) perfumy smell in the bedding due to the detergent that is used -- an easy fix.
Also, the unit is a 12 - 15 minute walk to the beach so "blocks to the beach" felt a little misleading.
Overall, we would recommend this unit to a couple or a small family if a few changes were made.
Thanks to Leigh again for his responsiveness.
