A large, quiet, furnished room for rent in a 2 bedroom Apt available in the vibrant Crown Heights area of Brooklyn.
The blue bedroom is available for 11 days in March.
High ceilings, hard wood floor, shared bath, kitchen, and living room. All new appliances in the kitchen.
Located 4 blocks from the A express train and 5 blocks from the 3. 20 minutes to lower Manhattan, and walking/biking distance to Prospect Heights and Park Slope.
On the block there is a laundromat, pharmacy, and several restaurants. We are walking distance from one of NYC's best parks, Prospect Park. It is a 15-20 minute walk or 5 minutes on the subway. There are also many coffee shops, book stores, and a variety of bars and clubs close by.
I am a doula, writer, and activist. I've lived in the apartment for almost 3 years and really love this neighborhood. I try keep the apartment pretty neat and clean, and create a relaxed environment to live in. I have a very sweet cat, Sebastian. It would be great if you want to give him some love, but you will not be responsible for taking care of him.
Cool apartment with cool cat. But most important - host Jillian is very nice and intelligent person, with whom you can talk about some important stuff also. And she is a perfect roommate - no stress, no noise, very helpful, and most of the time she's at work:)
We had an amazing stay! The place was clean, close to the subway (which will take you right into the city in no time!), and very comfortable! Although we only meet with Jillian for a moment she was extremely kind and caring- willing to text us logistics and answer our questions! I would recommend the room to my friends! And we will be coming back as well. Thanks Jillian!
Wonderfully spacious and cozy. The place is full of character and gives you peace and quiet after a long day. And how can I forget Sebastian the cat! Always looking forward to come home to the softest cuddles. Jillian is eager to share her knowledge of the city and inform you of local events. They prove to be some of the most interesting experiences we have! Thank you!
Wonderfully peaceful, quiet and relaxing home in a down-to-earth racially mixed non-touristy New York neighborhood. From this oasis I could conveniently access NYC from the Caribbean eateries and Jewsih neighborhoods nearby, Manhattan, the saree shopping in Jackson heights, and not worry about coming home late because between the apartment and the subway are lots of normal people out late. My little daughter loved it. Grocery stores are nearby, and even a shop to get a local SIM card for those coming from abroad, and a few train stops away is a huge shopping center called Barclays (where real New Yorkers get there stuff). Internet connection was great and everthing I needed was thoughtfully set up before we arrived. This is not a bling- bling-fancy or impress-somebody-with-opulence place. It's old but peaceful and a real neighborhood.
We had a fantastic stay at Jillian's! The flat is v spacious, nicely furnished and homey. The kitchen is pretty well equipped, too. Jillian has a cat, Sebastian. He's one of the friendliest cats we've ever met and it was great fun to have him around. Subway stops are just a short walk from the flat, which makes it v easy to get around. There are more than enough little shops in the area so that you will never go hungry. (Check out the Caribbean places in the area, they're great.)
Jillian is a great host. When we arrived, we received a v warm welcome and some great tips on what to do in the neighbourhood. She was easy to reach when we ran into some issues with the Internet and helped out v quickly.
If you're looking for a great, lovely place in NYC with a fantastic host, we'd highly recommend contacting Jillian.
