The neighborhood is vibrant and alive. Unbelievably delicious places to eat one block from the apartment but far enough away from the 'scene' that it is quiet and relaxing. MUNI buses are one block from your room to anywhere in the city. There are fun places near by and practical ones too - you can get a quick blow dry, buy wine, get a facial, inexpensive jewelry (expensive too if you want!) or just sit in a beautiful cafe bar and eat $1 fresh oysters at happy hour while planning your evening.
We are situated in the heart of San Francisco one block from Chestnut Street. The location is fantastic with a bus stop right 100 yards away for easy access all around the city:
• 5 minutes to Palace of Fine Arts, Golden Gate Bridge or Fort Mason
• 20 minutes to Downtown, Moscone Center, Financial District, Civic Center and Union Square.
• 15 minutes to the Castro
Lots of great places to eat close by and much more.
• Cow Hollow
• Chrissy Field
• Golden Gate Bridge
• Fort Mason

This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the best parts of San Francisco!
1. There are 3 flights of stairs (52 steps) to our apartment and no elevator.
2. Only have street parking available and permit is required between 10 am and 4 pm in this amazing area of town.
3. Please read the house rules.

The guests determine the level of interaction -- from using the house as a base for their own activities, to sharing experiences and touring with us. Flexible.
I love everything about Chestnut Street -- the Apple Store, Peets and Starbucks Coffee, beautiful restaurants and people living, working and playing in San Francisco.
You can take the X30 (the fashion bus) early in the morning or the 22 to the Mission or the 30 to Embarcadero and Fisherman's Market.
The Marina District is a neighborhood located in San Francisco, California. The neighborhood sits on the site of the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition, staged after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake to celebrate the reemergence of the city. Aside from the Palace of Fine Arts, all other buildings were demolished to make the current neighborhood.
The neighborhood is also noted for its demographics, which since the 1980s have shifted from mostly middle-class families and pensioners, to professionals in their twenties and thirties. These now make up more than half of the population, although a small, affluent older population remains.

Great room. Private, quiet, well-appointed. Terrific location (except for parking but that's not Angel's fault).
Angel's place is amazing. The room and apartment is large, the bed is extremely comfortable, the apartment is clean and Angel was a great host. The kitchen includes an espresso maker which was nice, and Angel leaves room in the fridge and an empty shelf in the cupboard for guests to store food if they're interested to cook. Everything is easy to find and convenient. Angel is a very laid back and friendly person, and we even found time to have a beer together. As someone who is in the process of relocating to San Fran, I also appreciated that Angel was very helpful in terms of getting to know the area, and providing tips for my own apartment search.
Staying at Angel flat was a great experience. Not only the flat is comfortable, clean and well located, interacting with Angel was fun and rewarding. I hope I can have the opportunity to visit again.
Angel's place is GREAT! Angel's apartment is a half block from the main strip (Chestnut Street) in The Marina District of San Francisco. Walk a few blocks north and you will be standing on the bay staring at the Golden Gate Bridge. The Marin County Headlands stall tall across the water calling you to come and visit. As well, Alcatraz beckons;) from the frigid waters. Bike rentals are also located by water allowing you a fun ride through the local area.
The neighborhood is upbeat, clean and very safe. A diverse mix of ages, races and attitudes prevail. Ultimately, for a first time visitor to San Francisco, Angel's place is a choice location for all adventures. Restaurants, boutiques, bars and miscellaneous shops abound on Chestnut Street. Safeway (a major grocery store) is just blocks away, too.
We had the main bedroom while Angel was away on business. The apartment is clean and offers a cozy-galley kitchen, small-yet quaint dinning area, one-shared-standard bathroom/shower, comfortable living room and two bedrooms (main and extra).
Angel decorates with a Latin flare intermixed with a slight rustic and antique touch. His style is subtle and enjoyable. The antique/rustic style meshes well with the design of the older building. Trash shoots still drop from the top floors to the bottom via the central 'courtyard'.
Natural lighting penetrates Angel's place during the day, offering a welcoming feel. Hardwood floors lightly creek under your feet as you walk; shoes off while in the house as to keep the noise low for the neighbors below;)
If you travel to SF during the colder months and...well pretty much anytime, the heat may be turned on. As Angel's building is older, as are most of the buildings in The Bay, heat will be delivered via the radiators which are controlled only by the building management. Old-school radiators will occasionally rattle, hiss and pop...again life in an old building has its unique features. It actually reminds me of living in Chicago... similar circumstances.
While Angel was away he communicated via text and e-mail ensuring that all was well. Angel is considerate and eager to set up a positive experience. We actually met Angel as he passed through SF, stopping in to repack as he headed to Boston. He was just as kind and considerate as he was over text/e-mail. It was a pleasure meeting him.
Angel, like me, realize the value in finding like-minded hosts and guests. Hosts and guests who treat others as 'extended housemates' are a great match. We looked after Angel's place like it was our own and Angel made certain that his place was prepped and ready for us.
We are super pleased with our experience at Angel's.
