For those of you who haven't experienced a Bali adventure with us yet, make a plan, we'll do our very best to give you a 5 star experience too! :-)

If you're after an isolated, out of the way retreat, then Satori may be a little too urban for you. Here we offer the best of both worlds, close proximity to all the wonderful services that bustling Ubud offers, within a truly magical setting! We're handily situated a short distance from the heart of the village, hidden behind a high wall at the gateway to the village that offers no clue to the stunning property and rice fields that lie behind it.

Groups can rent both the Villa and Treehouse together.

The Villa at Satori:
The newly furnished and beautifully appointed 2 bedroom Villa is actually three stand-alone buildings side by side, set amongst tropical gardens. It boasts a spectacular infinity pool, a home cinema, and shared use of the fully equipped massage / yoga studio.

It is somewhat rare around Ubud in that it features a living area that can be made outdoor OR indoor, depending on your preference. The large dining/living area opens up on three sides to water features and the exclusive use pool that reaches out toward the rice field/temple view. This is one of the many features that makes Satori somewhat unique. Most traditional style villas have their living areas always open to the elements, it means that for many properties only your bedrooms have protection from all the life that living in the tropics brings.

Relax, read or entertain in this tranquil space or make use of, arguably, the best home cinema in Ubud, featuring a state of the art 3D/HD projector and boasting a growing library of over 100 movies and TV shows. The kitchen is perfect for entertaining (whether you're manning it personally, or you're leaving it all to our wonderful housekeeper Wayan) In addition to being equipped with imported kitchenware the kitchen features a washer/dryer, vegetable/fruit juicer and espresso machine.

The huge Master Suite features a super king size bed, sofa that coverts to a single bed for a child, flat screen cable TV with DVD and an Ipod dock/speaker system. It has a magical al fresco shower and garden bath. The charming Guest Suite boasts a stunning view and features a queen size bed, flat screen cable TV and DVD and a large bathroom with open roof shower. Both bedroom suites offer a selection of memory foam or plush pillows, quality mattresses with luxury cotton bedding and air conditioning.

The shared yoga/massage studio lies between the Villa and the neighboring Treehouse. It's furnished with two quality massage tables, yoga mats, oil burner and a stereo system pre-loaded with relaxing sounds and music. Pick from our menu of talented massage therapists to visit for the perfect end to a memorable Bali day!

At your service...
While there is no doubt Satori's accommodation and setting will impress we predict it will be our wonderful staff that will ensure your stay is truly memorable. Sak Ming our manager knows Ubud like few others. She is on call to help you with any query or problem. Kadek our Treehouse housekeeper, and Wayan our Villa housekeeper love to receive guests and help in anyway that might make your stay more comfortable.

At Satori we can assist you in arranging almost anything, at cost price. We never receive a commission or kick back from any service or company we might recommend. We simply want you have to have an amazing experience, at the best price possible.

Satori is handily placed only 2km from the heart of Ubud's dining/shopping area.

The propert lies amongst lush jungle gardens above a stream of great importance to the local village. At one end lies a small temple where holy water is collected from an underground spring for important ceremonies and at the other is a bathing and laundry area, a social point for local villagers. Making your home away from home at Satori means the magic of daily Balinese life is all around....

Satori is a celebration of all that is Bali. We hope you'll allow us the opportunity to create for you a truly magical getaway!

  • Our stay at Satori Villa was a peaceful oasis of five days with friendly hospitality by housekeepers, Wayan and Kadek and Dewa , our driver , who was most helpful in suggesting places of interest as well as pick ups from restaurants, suggested by our host, at night.
We were made to feel completely at home and relaxed in the main room of the villa while Wayan gave us a brief intro to Satori and Kadek prepared a refreshing juice ,we soaked in the magnificent views overlooking the infinity pool and rice fields.
Our spacious room was amazing with a king bed, so -o-o comfortable , plenty of hanging space with outdoor shower and bath in a secluded tropical garden.
Breakfast was included and fruit mountain won first prize with us , while Jeff claimed the pancakes came a close second. Wayan and Kadek produced some delicious lunches for us also with goods bought locally on the day . . . . authentic Balinese delicacies. Kadek offered us quite a choice of coffees which we would certainly recommend.
Organized in house massages were booked several times during our stay in the villa's massage room with great satisfaction and coupled with swimming in the our magical pool.
Manager, Sak Ming , was most helpful suggesting outings, shopping spots to visit, choices of meals as well as sightseeing and local culture.
Our host, Mark, was most obliging from the time we booked offering advice promptly with any of our queries so that our holiday was a wonderful experience with everything falling into place making this stay a memorable and unique Balinese experience for us to treasure.

  • Satori is everything we'd hoped for and more. The staff were lovely, funny and attentive - we had no idea they'd be so helpful, even making lunch or dinner in advance for us if we chose to stay in. The villa isn't just impeccably clean, it's so comfortable: beautiful linen, decent wifi, a mobile and landine phone, and other services like massage and driver just a phone call away. Mark was also helpful and a delight to interact with, even checking in on how we were during the stay. It was a complete pleasure to stay here and I'd recommend you don't go past this rare gem!

  • Our family of 4 adults and 3 kids stayed at Satori for a night and it was an awesome experience. The villa was as picturesque as what you see in the photos and the place is clean and well maintained. Mark is an awesome host and extremely accommodating and responsive to our requests. Wayan checks in on us every now and then to ensure that our needs are met and she whips up a wicked meal. We love her fruit muesli and banana pancake. Dewa our driver is also fabulous. He speaks good English and doubles up (email hidden)e team at Satori is extremely service oriented and we could not ask for more. We love the place, the experience and the people. We are definitely coming back again! Great job guys!

  • We’ve had an amazing time at the magical Satori Villa. The staff is absolutely fantastic. Wayan makes the best breakfasts, definitely try the delicious pancakes and fruit mountain! Kadek was a great help as was Sak Ming the cheerful manager. Dewa, the driver, did a fantastic job at showing us the daily life and beautiful places in Bali, even took us to a ceremony at the temple in his village.

There is so much to see and do in Bali, but staying at the villa, hanging by the pool and enjoying the view is also a nice way to spend a couple of days. We made use of the home delivery service, which was very convenient (we loved the food and drinks of Bali Buda!).

The rooms are spacious, clean and have great huge beds. The villa had everything that we needed and more. If we ever come back to Bali we would definitely want to stay at Satori again!

    Clean, beautiful & amazingly located.
    Exactly as described.

  • My husband booked with Mark, so my experience is somewhat limited in terms of the arrangements. However I can offer my feedback on Santori and the staff. I had been in Bali a total of 3 weeks, first in Ubud, then up North closer to Lavina and then back to Santori/Ubud for our last week. I feel I had a good exposure of different cottages, villas, hotels to compare with Satori.

Satori is an intimate house setting nestled between rice fields and the outskirts of Ubud. I would recommend staying at Satori, as it is walking distance to Ubud and anything you may need. As a traveler you can have as much chill time or opt for something more busy should you choose. The staff (Wayan and Kadek) are amazing, knowledgeable, friendly and helped us with many programs such as white water rafting, temples and massages. They made us feel welcome the moment we arrived to the last minutes of our departure. As a guest I appreciated the follow through and follow up that Mark and his staff did for us. I could tell that Mark really cares about your stay at Satori. Small things like having toilet paper, filtered water every day to brush our teeth, access/use of local cell phone and locally made coconut soap to shower with.

We celebrated my husband's birthday, our 25th wedding anniversary and Mother's day at Satori and Wayan had a bouquet of flowers in our room with "Happy Birthday Brent" from Team Satori. She was so excited about for our celebrations, the flowers were a beautiful and thoughtful gesture from them and we appreciated it very much. Mark would check in on us via email to ensure we were happy and you can sense he has pride in what he has to offer. It's not just a business for him or his staff. Wayan also invited us to a Balinese dance competition in her village. This was something very unique that we wouldn't have experienced if Wayan didn't offer it. Wayan taught us much about Bali and the history/lifestyle. Our stay in Bali wouldn't have been as rich in experience had we not booked with Mark and his team.

We highly recommend staying at Satori and we will return again.

Kudos to Mark, Wayan and Kadek.

  • Great place - i felt like a bit of a rock star while i was here :) Lovely staff and stunning setting. Not super close to Ubud centre but drivers/scooters can easily be organised. I would not hesitate to come back!!

  • Our 10 days in the Villa were fantastic. Our only complaint was that it all went so fast. It is like an oasis of peace amongst the business of Bali. Initially we were concerned with the noise of the traffic outside but it soon simply reinforced the idyllic nature of the the place. Such a juxtaposition. So many wonderful memories to help us get through the schlep of life in the burbs. Such as ending the day with a great massage, lazing in the pool, soaking up the view... Wayan & Kadek were so kind and helpful. Walking into Ubud was never an option but getting drivers wasn't a problem. This was by far the best holiday we have ever had. My concern in writing this is that it may make it even harder to get another booking next time. Like Arnie, "We'll be back".

  • The place is magic as soon as you open the door of the residence. The view is beyound any word.
We were a family of 4, with a 5 1/2 old girl and a newborn boy staying for 8 days.
The staff is wonderful making us very confortable immediatly. They loved the kids and the kids loved them so much. Wayan was like a big sister for my daughter. She teached her how to make offerings and went on grocery trips together. We felt safe at any time to let her go together.
Arrangements for restaurants, transportation, and activities were smooth. Pre-arrival arrangement with Mark was perfect.
Villa is very confortable and the home cinema is a nice bonus.
Mark was very nice to arrange baby gears for the boy, including baby bed even if he ended up sleeping with us in the big bed.
There were wet eyes when we left.
By far our best Bali experience (that wasour 3rd trip). We will come back, hopefully soon.

  • Three days of heaven ! We will be back . From the moment we walked in the door we were in awe of this little piece of paradise . The amazing hillside setting with its lush beautifully kept gardens overlooking the rice paddies just brings instant tranquility . We spent each morning sitting on our swinging chair drinking tea and watching the swallows swoop around the giant fig tree.
To add to the amazing location, Wayan , Kadek and Sak Ming looked after us and made us feel so welcome and pampered . They are the most beautiful people and felt like family . It was a pleasure to learn more about the Balinese culture from them . The food was amazing . The rooms comfortable , clean and linen so fresh . Dewa the driver was always there to help .
We could not have asked for more . Can't wait to come back .
