This is a private room in an apartment with one female (Swedish/American) also living there. The bedroom and bathroom are on the other side of the apartment so it is almost like private quarters. It's in a clean elevator (no doorman) building on 102nd St, right off Broadway, close to subway, two parks nearby.
The bedroom has a sensational queen sized bed with memory foam for extra comfort, and high quality linens. Towels and soap provided. Two windows, closet, small desk, drawers, door that closes fully, adjacent bathroom. (Fast, high end) Wifi in whole apartment. The apartment is a spacious one bedroom, on top floor of 7 story elevator building, so lots of light. Living room, eat in kitchen, TV/Cable, work desk. It is located in the heart of Manhattan's Upper West Side, three blocks from Central Park and two blocks from Riverside Park. Restaurants, stores, cafes, all abundant in the neighborhood. 24/7 supermarket one block away and the subway is also one block away. (The 103rd St stop on the #1 line.)
Also living in the apartment, one female, non smoker, quiet, clean and not home much. My cat Jack is here sometimes, sometimes with my sister upstate. He stays with me in the living room, curtained off. He is never ever in the guest bedroom.
Also, high quality air filters in the apartment.
Laundromat is 2 blocks away.
Instead of breakfast, I provide guests with fruit, nuts and other snacks, as well as filtered water in the room. I am happy to provide coffee or tea as well, upon request.
The cleaning fee is $20. No deposit.
Appropriate for: One person or two who can share bed.
The whole apartment but mainly, bedroom, bathroom, hall, kitchen.
Interaction with Guests
I give them any help they need but try to give them space and leave them in peace.
Everything! Parks, cafes, restaurants, shops...
The subway (#1 train) stops one block from my apartment. The stop is the 103rd st/Broadway stop.
All is well. Just one window without a screen i don't want you to open, in the bedroom.
We had a wonderful time staying with Celia and the cats, Levis and Jack. Celia is very talkative and hospitable, she provided us coffee, cookies and chocolates every morning. She has a large room and a large bed. I would say it is a good place for two girls to stay. Also, she is flexible about check-in and check-out times. The location is good--only one block from the 103st subway station，and the subway will take you to anywhere you want! Thanks for providing us this fabulous place to stay in NYC!
My husband and I stayed one night in NYC to celebrate our Anniversary. Celia had to leave for the weekend but we crossed paths just as we were arriving and she was leaving. She made proper arrangements for a friend to thoroughly welcome us and provide us with information and the keys and Celia was quick to respond to text messages if we needed anything. She was very flexible with our arrival and departure timings and allowed us to leave our bags in the room while we finished exploring NYC on our second day. The room is very spacious and the bed (just as everyone else said) is very comfortable. The cats are very playful (knocking a few things over during our stay), friendly and, were always trying to find a way into the bedroom. The room was very convenient to the subway so we could easily get to anywhere we wanted to go. We really enjoyed staying here. It was the perfect spot for what we wanted to do.
We had a wonderful time at Celias home! she is a open minded person, we had a lot of fun with her. Celia was always helpful when we need to know something, she also recommend us a delicious breakfast restaurant. Her room is big, it has enough space for 2 Personen and big luggages, the bed was big and comfortable! her apartment is very close to the subway station, which was wonderful because we spend every day in Midtown. We will definitely come back to visit her, if she makes you a delicious hot wine you have to try it :) Diana and Bernie
Celia is a wonderful, friendly & knowledgable host. I text her several times while we were out and about asking for info, directions & suggestions and each time she was most helpful. She was very respectful of our privacy, yet open to friendly conversation as well. The room is just as she described and very quiet. I loved her cats but have 2 of our own so it felt like home. The subway is extremely convenient and there is a wide variety of shops and places to eat scattered throughout the neighborhood. We will definitely stay again.
It was a very warm welcome. Celia created a perfect athmosphere with candles and homemade Glogg. We felt at home from the very first moment. The apartment was cosy; the enterieur very tastefull. the bed was comfortable. We slept very good. The Apartment is located closed tot the subway and the Central Park is three block away. Celias apartment is located perfecly for those who want to discover Manhattan and Harlem.
Our staying at Celia's apartment was just so wonderful! Celia thought of all details one can think of to make our staying so perfect! Our room was big, spacious, clean and comfortable. A very large and comfortable bed. Lot of space for putting our baggage, champagne, flowers (even in the bathroom)! A very calm apartment in upper west Manhattan, an ideal and perfect place, less than two minutes from subway (very frequent line 1). Not only that, but also 2 lovely and adorable cats (which we miss so much) and one charming, kind and so considerable Celia! So dear Celia, thank you so much for all of that! Can't wait for next time!
Celia was a wonderful host! She was very warm, welcoming, and hospitable. Her place was clean and the bedroom was spacious and provided plenty of storage places for our belongings. The apartment was cute and I really felt like I was living as a New Yorker! As a bonus, she provided breakfast treats every morning during our stay. We really appreciated her generosity. The subway Line 1 was one block away and took us everywhere that we needed to go. Finally, her two cats were the most adorable additions to her place. We always looked forward to hanging out with them after a long day of tourist walking in NYC.
As a side note, we left one of the windows wide open during our sleep for fresh air. I am a very light sleeper and did hear some minor noises from outside. Good thing I always carry ear plugs with me anywhere I go. If you are a sensitive sleeper like me, I suggest bringing a pair as well.
Thank you Celia for hosting us!!
