We truly enjoyed our stay at Clothilde's house in La Croze. The house is spacious and bright with huge windows and doors. The house is decorated in a hip and modern way and there are tons of interesting details, history and photos to discover. The yard and garden were beautiful and relaxing and we enjoyed hiking on trails that lead right from the property. The neighborhood was so quiet and we could see so many stars at night. We saw a beautiful deer-like creature and a number of gorgeous birds right from the front yard. The location is perfectly secluded yet convenient to sites such as the Caves of Lascaux, the city of Perigeux, the Middle Ages town of Sarlat, and a ton of castles, gardens, and nature. It's also easy to get to grocery stores and other necessities, by car. Don't miss the Thursday market at St Astier (closes at noon so get there early). Thanks so much to Clothilde and her husband for being so easy to communicate with and for welcoming us to their lovely home.

Yes all really good helped by good weather. The grounds are great and we were able to eat outside every night, plenty of fallen wood for the fire. Interesting internal features including 16th century stone fireplaces. great mattresses for a good nights sleep. Thank you.

Our stay was everything that we expected. The integrity of the house and extensive garden was perfect for relaxation in a serene environment. We accommodated 8 adults easily. The kitchen was well equiped for meal preparation. Travel by car to local towns - Perigueux, Lisle etc etc was quick and easy for supplies. The local boulangerie in Mensignac was perfect for breads and pastries as long as you shop between 7.00 and 8.00 am, as it appears to mainly supply other local retailers with stock as its main business. It closes around 8.30 am. The Grand Frais market near Perigueux was perfect for all fresh food supply. Walking in the local area was enjoyable. All in all, 10 days of relaxation with our diverse family from around the world was the result. Perfect!

We had a fantastic time in Clothildes House! Beautiful area with nice markets but actually you don´t need to leave this incredible house, it offers a lot of space, a great kitchen, garden, lounge and just erverything you need for a relaxing time, even with little children. Clothilde was also a great host and gave us good advice for activities in the region. We really fell in love with this house and would come back anytime!

We really loved our stay at Clothildes and Donals home. They are such nice and generous hosts and made us feel very welcome with excellent communication. The property was everything we were hoping for. The house is absolutely beautiful and inspiring with a lot of charm ! We enjoyed the huge garden ( with a pool for the kids and a lot of toys ) , took a bath in the river and explored the surrounding villages and markets. These days were unforgettable, thank you so much !

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful and authentic old manor house. It was a wonderful opportunity to unwind and relax in the spacious grounds, wander the country lanes and cook for ourselves in the well stocked kitchen. Our kids were in heaven and so were we, as they could run wild and free and give us some space!
