La terrazza dei gatti di Roma

Apartment - Private room · Largo Bernardino da Feltre, Rome, Lazio 00153, Italy

The Space

Lovely and quiet room/studio, with small private bathroom next, with toilet, sink and shower. It's located on the top floor of a historic building, in the quiet area between Monteverde and Trastevere neighborhood - the heart of the town - in a private apartment with terrace where spend time when hosts are in (plus a panoramic terrace of the building with 360° view of the town, accessible to guests only if accompanied by the studio's owners).
The room-studio is equipped with two single beds (possibility of double bed); a closet; linen at one's disposal; tea and coffee pot; minibar; WiFi. Room-studio is in a secluded area of the apartment: a sliding door separates it from the rest of the apartment where the hosts live. The room/studio is perfect for one person. For two persons (an "easy-going" young couple, or two friends/fellow travellers) it's a bit small, but enough comfortable for a short stay. Italian breakfast at coffee bar doorstep is included.
Guido and Lisa make available to the guests - directly in the room - some welcome comforts as tea, coffee, snacks, soft drinks, etc.. They are also happy to provide information about Rome, sharing travel experiences (as the hosts are travelers) have a drink together if the guests feel like sharing time with the hosts. The thing that counts is that the guests feel free to take advantage (or no), of the help and the company of the hosts: it's not an obligation but in case it would be a pleasure.
The Trastevere neighborhood is full of life day and night: restaurants, taverns with excellent wines, street entertainment, fine libraries with books in foreign languages, delicious artisan shops. It is also the ideal starting point to reach the magnificent historical attractions of the town: from the apartment you can reach walking just 10 minuts Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, starting point for enjoying the nightlife. Thanks to the very central location of the room-studio, you can quickly reach on foot or by bus, the main attractions of art and history such as: Pantheon, San Pietro in Vaticano, Gianicolo, Piazza Venezia, Fontana di Trevi, Colosseo, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza del Popolo, Via del Corso, Piazza Navona, Teatro Marcello, Ghetto ebraico. Furthermore, you can go shopping in the Porta Portese market, the famous flea market (but... you can't find any more the things of the past!!!) which takes place on Sunday and is two minutes far from the appartment. For those who love to discover unusual places of the city, the nearby Monteverde neighborhood (home to many Italian and foreign actors, directors, writers, musicians) reserves interesting surprises as a beautiful park (Villa Sciarra), with botanical garden, just 10 minutes walk from the apartment.

  • Our stay in Rome was very pleasant. Lisa and Guido's place has lots of very nice features. The location is great for enjoying Trastevere. The little details in the room are extremely pleasant: there's a mini fridge, plates, glasses and utensils, a water boiler with tea and coffee, some snacks, fruits and juices and many many interesting books. All in all, the setting is very well thought of and our hosts were always extremely kind and helpful. When we asked for an anti-mosquito plug, they managed to get one. They also gave us advice on places to eat and offered us a nice tour of the upstairs private balcony and reminded us to book ahead for the Vatican museums in order to avoid the lines. Although we are very thankful to them for all their help and their warm hospitality, we made a couple of suggestions concerning the comfort of the mattress and the water output of the shower. We hope that in the near future they will fix these two points in order to make their place ... the perfect accommodation in Rome !

  • Lisa and Guido were great hosts! And the appartement was small, but very nice and on a perfect spot to explore the city, especially Trastevere and Testaccio

  • We had a great stay with Lisa and Guido. The appartment is in a fantastic 1930's block with a big shared courtyard. It is located really conveniently, near some great attractions and pretty river walk. We actually walked everywhere on our stay. Trastevere has to be the place to stay in `Rome. Loads of really cool cobbly streets with great boutique shops, bars and restaurants. It has a really peaceful feel. LIsa and Guido were lovely hosts and made us feel welcome.

  • Lisa is a wonderful hostess and we enjoyed our brief visit with Guido as he was out of town for all but the last morning of our stay. La Terrazza is in a nice location in Trastavere and the room and bath were attractive and spotless, if a bit small. Lisa provided a lot of helpful information and is an interesting and delightful person. With her help, we were able to find our way to most places via public transportation. We would stay here again.

  • My stay at la terrazza dei gatti di Roma in September was perfetto! Great location and the lovely Lisa is very welcoming and gave lots of advice and recommendations on the many local bars, restaurants, trattoria and gelati places around Trastevere and Testaccio. The room is very comfortable, including a small refrigerator and there is a private bathroom and big soft towels are provided. It is a very pleasant and easy walk across the river to see all the historic sites - I walked everywhere but there is a tram on viale trastevere that goes straight to the historic centre. I will definitely stay here again when I'm next in Roma. Grazie mille Lisa!

with pleasure we wait for you next in Rome! Grazie a te per la piacevole compagnia. Buone vacanze!

  • Very helpful hosts, a lovely room with adjoining bathroom, perfect for a short stay. Location good, short walk in to the lively bars/restaurants of Trastevere an easy to walk to all main Rome tourist hotspots. Guido was generous with his time in taking us out to the rooftop to show us wonderful views of the city. Couldn't find apartment at first despite Lisa's good directions but that was us misreading (website hidden) maps. Helpfully Lisa gave us a list of recommended bars/restaurants and we tried a few. All in all, a very good experience.

  • We had a great experience with Lisa and Guido. The apartment was very clean and we had everything that we needed. They had breakfast vouchers for us at the little place downstairs - great food and coffee! Lisa and Guido left us fresh fruit, water and recommendations on local hot spots. GREATLY appreciated! Great location! Lisa and Guido are very personable and pleasant. It was great to spend some time with them over a bottle of wine on their terrace. DEFINITELY made our trip to Rome better than expected!

    Thank you!
