The Space

Escape the winter cold or the summer heat. Year round we have lows of 68 and warm tropical rain forest highs of 84-88 degrees on our patio. Hang out in a hammock on the patio, do yoga in the second story "sacred space", pick your on breakfast on the 7 acres or cool off in the creek on site. Bird watch in the enchanted bamboo forest or just be one with nature....

This price is for the privacy of renting the 2 bedroom Master Suite. This 2 room apartment is $700 a month May-Dec 15 and $1500 a month Dec. 15 through April 30. Price includes weekly maid and laundry, utilities for 4 people. See "Create your own YOGA Workshop" to rent 3 to 5 rooms.

The Master Suite has 2 bedrooms, full bath, kitchen, dining area and salon (sitting area). The Master suite is block construction and fully screened. El Lirio has a double bed and a set of bunks. Jasmine has a double and individual. A large tiled patio offers rocking chairs and hammocks, it's great for bird watching. The Yoga floor is above "La Casa Vieja".

Discover the real Costa Rica in Londres, 10 miles EAST of Quepos. Sleep to the sounds of Rio Naranjo and awaken at sunrise (Amanecer) to the sounds of song birds. The creek pictured is on site and Rio Naranjo, across the street becomes a lazy river (Dec-April). We are close enough to enJOY Manuel Antonio National Park, but worlds apart.

Londres is a typical Tico pueblo of 1500 people; with 2 mini-supers only 100 meters walk, a "soda" (cafe), full service restaurant-bar, plus parks, futbol (soccer) field and local bus service. Most of the "adventure tours" sold in Quepos actually take place out here: rafting, waterfalls, horses, ATV, repelling, zip lines, and birdwatching. Discover a nesting pair of Scarlett Macaws across the street, and the Titi monkeys have been on site enjoying the fruits of the finca.

The new 12'x 24' Yoga floor is upstairs. This can double as massage area or sacred space. The rich dark wood floor and bamboo construction is surrounded by Night Blooming Jasmine, overlooking Rio Naranjo and 7 lush acres of paradise.

Only 40 minutes by car (on a dirt road) to world famous Manuel Antonio National Park. Quepos is a typical tourist town with lots of restaurants and shops, only 20-25 minutes by car (40 minutes by bus 6 or 7 times daily)

This is the Pura Vida (good life) life for sure, disconnect from stress, NO TV, no cell phones, and this is a NON-SMOKING FACILITY. We have ICE "High Speed" (512K ) WiFi (sometimes). Just enough to stay in touch. We tend to play lots of games at night and have interesting Videos or bring some to share.

Finca Amanecer has been operating as an Eco-lodge at hostel prices since 2002. You'll find lots of happy clients on TripAdvisor, Happy Cow and other sites. We are in transition to a full Eco-commUNITY and transitioning out of the daily room rental market. We are heading towards retreats, workshops and the all inclusive "Longevity Education Center". We still rent rooms on a daily basis, preferring weekly rentals. "You'll be treated as part of the community rather than guests." What does that mean? We may have projects going on, y are welcome to play in the gardens or cut flowers for your room. Healthy meals are available at reasonable rates.

Suitable for Events. YES the Bamboo Cathedral by the creek is suitable for outdoor weddings, fiestas and sweat lodge. If YOU want to host your own retreat or workshop, please let us know and we can make arrangements for you to rent the entire facility, See the listing "Create your own YOGA workshop". The patio connects to the mini-suite with 2 more bedrooms, 3 beds sleeping. Both room have their own sinks, and the shower has hot water. The mini-suite has block walls to 2' and screened windows. La Casa Vieja adds 3 more rooms ( 4 beds to 5 people) Think of it like a big H

  • Elena's place is quite special, it's secluded, which made it a bit tricky to find, but it's surrounded by nature and very nice and pleasant. She showed us around, made us banana bread baked in sun oven, and we had a lot of interesting talks. We also met all kinds of interesting people staying at her place. Over all it was a wonderful experience that we won't forget.

    Response from Elena:

Thank you!! Yes, it is an "Experience" not just a hotel. And Londres is such a sweet Tico town. I am so glad your family was able to discover something other than "Hollywood on the beach". Hope to see you again real soon. Paz y luz, siempre...

This house is part of an Eco-Community. I have been guardian of the land since 2002. I guess you can say I am a visionary. I believe you can live better simply. I have taken an abandoned property and turned it into a 6 bedroom, 3 bath home with 2 kitchens. All connected by a common patio and Yoga floor above. The farm had been neglected for 10 years. Now, the campgrounds outback have allowed many young people to do their "journey work" as they discover life outside the box. We are planting pineapple, papaya, bananas and the vivero (nursery) is coming to life with tomatoes, cucumbers, garlic and more. I truly enjoy sitting on the patio, birdwatching and sharing "a Lust for Life" while living in harmony with neighbors and nature.
