Wigmore is 8 miles from Ludlow and a scenic drive through Mortimer Forest. With beautiful views, our one light and spacious room has private access, king-sized bed, ensuite shower room, private kitchen, sofa, log-burner and terrace - a mini apartment! Meals are served to you in your room, including dinners should you want! Talk to us if you would like to self-cater.
We only have one generous double room, so we can afford to make your stay extra special! You can see more on our internet site by searching Abbots Lodge Bed and Breakfast. The rate shown is for two people sharing, per night assuming a stay of two nights or more. A double booking is £95 per night. Single occupancy is £75 per night.
We serve you breakfast in your room. And to complete the treat, why not let Janet prepare an evening meal for you, delivered to your table for a private dining experience! Janet has spent her career working in catering, and is the former head chef at the Ludlow Food Centre.
What we want is for you to enjoy the same things we would like when we go away - fresh milk with your tea, space inside and out for relaxing, and a separate entrance to come and go by!
With access from its own south facing terrace, the bedroom is characterised by space, light, peace and views across the nearby rooftops and wooded valley. As well as a king sized bed, there is a sitting area with log-burning stove, an en-suite shower room and a kitchen. A television is provided and wireless broadband is also available.
Abbots Lodge is located in a delightfully peaceful setting between the church and the medieval castle. An unconventional property, it makes the very most of the elevated site and far reaching views.
The woodlands around Wigmore are full of beautiful walks and wildlife.
A short, beautiful and picturesque drive to the east through Mortimer Forest brings you to the historic town of Ludlow, renowned for its food and arts festivals as well as its fine dining, and high quality local food suppliers
Arrival is any time after 2pm, with departure no later than 11am. No pets, sorry! Parking is available on our drive. Access is level between the parking area and the entrance to the room, and the room is level throughout (including kitchen), with a single step into the ensuite shower room.
We felt so welcomed here. Janet was a fabulous host, such a great room. She was full of wonderful information, and made such fabulous meals. Wish we could come back.

We stayed but one night, however it was lovely experience. The apartment was super cozy, and romantic. We were also spoiled by great weather - woke up with the sun peering through the floor to ceiling windows. Janet was a wonderfully accommodating, and laid back host. Oh, and the breakfast was fantastic :) Wigmore village is quaint, with its Castle ruins and spectacular views. Nearby Ludlow was a surprising discovery, as well. We had the best Sunday lunch in a very long time. South Wales is also near, and provides amazing walks in Brecon Park. All around a very relaxing winter weekend.
We had a fab time. Would highly recommend staying. The food is great too if you're considering booking the evening meal option.
Beautifully presented b&b in a lovely surrounding. We decided last minute before Christmas to spend a few days there. It was quiet and peaceful. As lots of places were closed due to the time we were there the little kitchen proved very helpful. We would gladly go back especially for the eggs Benedict!
Fantastic. Highly recommended. The apartment is beautifully decorated and has everything you will need.
Janet is very friendly, helpful and a great cook. The wood burning stove is also a perfect addition for a cold winters night.
Our time at Janet's was idyllic; a perfect retreat away surrounded by beautiful countryside. The room was beautiful, lots of lovely finishing touches like books, DVDs, toiletries etc that just made it all feel very special. Both breakfast and dinner was incredible, exquisite tastes and ingredients. Thank you!
