Great check-in experience100% of recent guests gave this home’s check-in process a 5-star rating.

The Old Tea Hut is halfway down a footpath leading to the beach. It was originally built in the 1920's, and has been modernised over time. It still retains lots of quirky character and is in an amazing position with fabulous views over Whitsand bay and 2 minutes walk from a beautiful beach.. its a magical place in the summer and dramatic and wild in the winter. There is an open fire, and a conservatory so that even on chilly days you can enjoy the landscape.

The location in person is even more stunning than the photos. I would stay at The Old Tea Hut again! Our stay was perfect for a remote English getaway with beautiful views and fantastic local activities (courtesy of Rosie's recommendations). The 4 of us loved our time at the Old…

Great space with amazing views and access to a dog friendly beach. We were lucky with the weather and had a great time. Definitely recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Old Tea Hut - we stayed there the week after our wedding to have some down time before heading back to the real world. And it was just the escape we needed. We love the location, and in particular we spent a lot of time in the conservatory and …

Response from Rosie:
This was a booking that went badly wrong for us all and I am very sorry that Margaret’s experience was so negative. it was a great mistake on our part not to have cancelled the booking, but we did not want to cause disappointment. Due to a family tragedy we were behind with our winter maintenance program, and this combined with some dreadfully wet weather prior to Margaret’s arrival made it difficult to prepare the The Hut and its garden to the high standard which we aim for. We did do our best, but unfortunately communication between Margaret and myself was not good and this led to misunderstandings and issues that could have been addressed at the time not being mentioned. We are awaiting the advice of airbnb on what level of compensation is appropriate and apologise unreservedly to Margaret for her disappointment that her holiday was not as special as she had hoped. The issues which she mentions are in the process of being addressed, and we aim to have the Tea Hut freshly painted and deep cleaned in readiness for the main letting season. However, whilst cleanliness is of the utmost importance to us, it is important for perspective tenants to note that this is an old building in a very exposed location. We do have a rolling programme of improvements and maintenance, but there are inevitably some things that are a bit worn. We aim for the Hut to be a practical, comfortable and relaxed place for families who like messing around on the beach, getting away from the TV and simply enjoying the fantastic location. it is not marketed or priced as a high end luxury property.

Wild landscape, beautiful, and sometimes a little brutal under the wind of winter, but always unforgettable. The house is nice, with a very nice view and equipped for a lovely stay. Rosy's welcome is warm, full of kindness and availability. Thank you for these wonderful moments.

I booked The Old Tea Hut for the view and it didn’t disappoint-it is totally amazing. There is room for 2 people to stretch out on the cushions in the conservatory and soak it up! You can also see the sea from the kitchen and one of the bedrooms. An from the lounge looking toward…
