Apartment was centrally located and Chris was helpful and responsive. If you're a light sleeper, I would suggest bringing earplugs, as the walls are thin. Overall, a good stay and a fantastic deal for this neighborhood in Taipei.
Chris was very responsive and I was very happy to be able to reserve this room after my original plans fell through. location was very convenient, but away from the noise of the city. overall, it was good.
couple of things to note-- the room had a very strong smell of the cleaner that they used. good to know that they cleaned the room well, but did not dissipate during my stay. I tried using the AC to aerate the room, but the AC remote was also broken, which meant being very cold (especially as it was 50F/10C and raining during my trip).
Chris was really helpful. His place was clean and super convenient , right smack in the middle of DOng Qu with loads of cafes and interesting shops just right below the apartment. I had a friend who came to visit and couldn't get to me so he dialled Chris;s number from the answering system at the door, Chris immediately emailed to me within the next 10 seconds.
If you need a place with good location, great host, look no further. This is it. Oh did I mention the great price? Awesome Awesome Apartment.
Location is superb. Right outside door its a trendy area with lots of nice places to dine and shop. There are also cheap street vendors u can grab while walking on the road.
Room itself is cozy and nice. Spacious bed and shower. U got to know tho light outside room thru window is not totally blocked so if u re a person who cant sleep without total darkness then u got to bring sleepingeyema(website hidden)rsonally had no problem. Aircon is free to use so after shower leave it on for few mins and its not damp at all. Friendly reminder is that it was hard for me to find the place at first, so use (website hidden) map or ask local to look up on (website hidden) map. Local i asked was kind enough to walk me home. Hey im already calling this place home!!! Haha def im staying at Chris' place next time!
Really great location! I love that it was really close to MRT (5 minute walk). The room was spacious for one person. Lots of great restaurants and shops around the neighborhood. Would definitely be staying with Chris next time i'm back in Taipei! Cheers!
The location is perfect for those looking to stay centrally and be near the hustle and bustle of Taipei city. Many restaurants open 24hrs near by plus famous restaurants like Din Tai Fung are a 2 minute walk away. Shopping is right at your doorstep and night hotspots like Luxy are a short walk away. Room is fine for a stay with a comfy bed and sofa. Wifi works flawlessly. If you're going to Taipei for a short visit and want to maximize your time exploring but have somewhere central to sleep this place is for you. Chris is fantastic in contacting you if you need it too.
The place was really like what is in the pictures. The room was quite clean, but the air con was a bit noisy and we couldn't change the temp of it because the remote was spoilt. The room do no have any ventilation, so things took longer to dry and without the windows it just didn't like it was morning already. But wasn't a big issue for my boyfriend and I. The space is just right for 2 people, more than that might be a little small. Other than that it was okay! Chris was very prompt with his reply! Thank you Chris :)
Location of the apartment was great. It's in the middle of a hip area with plenty of shopping and food close by. Apartment itself can get a little noisy if you happen to have loud neighbors but Chris was very responsive and quick to take care of our needs.
good location. chris is kindly when we have problem he will reply us immediately & settle to us. room is clean , but the bed is not stable.
Firstly I wouldn't call this place a self-contained apartment because there is no windows, no kitchen and no place to eat. A real apartment should have these things. It is merely an independent room with bathroom en-suite within a bigger apartment.
Secondly, the television, air-condition and cleanliness issues reported by the others have not been fixed: I found lots and lots of long black hair all over the floor in the bathroom and the room room. It never makes a good impression if you can find loads of somebody else's hair on the floor.
I was unable to even turn of the TV set. The remote is entirely in Chinese (!) so I asked the native speakers for help and they failed to turn it on either. There must be something wrong with either the telly or the remote control. It was not the case of flat batteries because I replaced them with new ones without any effect. Eventually I wasn't really bothered by that so I didn't ask the host for help.
The aircon was loud and totally non-responsive to remote control whatsoever. It was not the case of flat batteries. That problem was reported by other users before and seems to be still unresolved. I don't mind sleeping in cold rooms and I'm no a light sleeper so again I was not that much bothered by that but you have been warned.
Other than that, Chris is very responsive and helpful so I'm sure he'll take care of you very well. Whoever cleans the apartment should be dismissed because it's way below at least US & European standards.
