Welcome to beautiful Jeju Island! :)
The worlang house is a very cozy little space for the guests to stay in, the decorations and interior design is very modern too. Heung is a very nice person, he help us to key in the location for our rented car gps and recommended us where to visit in jeju. The apartment is also very well furnished. All the basic amenities are provided and the bed can be heated up! (It's cold when we are there, so with beds like these really make a difference at night). The overall experience at worlang house is awesome! And heung's 2 little boys are very cute!
Heung is a very friendly guy. Calls me back if I've walked in the wrong direction. Hahaha. Comes up to make breakfast for guests every morning :D The little boy of his came up too but was very shy. Gave me a ride to the airport which i was very thankful of!
The Worlang room was a very small, cozy and clean place to stay. The beds here were very firm and the ceiling heights were very low. We stayed in the room on the second floor. I bumped my head many times in the room which had sloped ceilings and at the petit doorway to the stairs. Also, on our first night...there was a roach in our bathroom. It was probably because it had been raining all day that day, however, I don't to well with bugs. Heung-Eom was readily available and took care of it immediately. He made himself available to answer any questions we had and even provided us a ride to the tourist information center so we could plan our day. My only regret is not booking an introductory tour with him to learn more about Jeju. Nonetheless, we had a great time. The American breakfasts were nice; toast, hash browns, fruit and OJ. It was nice to talk with some of the other visitors there and learn about their plans for the day. My only advice, if you are 5'2" or taller, stay in one of the rooms on the main floor.
Worlang house is a nice place that is very near the airport. Heung was very nice and it was great speaking to him in our limited Korean.
He also recommended some of his usual restaurants for black pork and meals and they were fantastic!
Unfortunately we didn't get to meet his children.
A cozy, well-equipped small room. Its location is good as many restaurants and shops can be found around there. Whole unit is in well and clean condition. I will definitely come again and recommend friends to stay.
Heung's wife is so nice. Although her English is not good, she tried to communicate with us and helped us with a lot of issues such as getting around in Jeju! This place is mad adorable! This is my second time in Jeju and she definitely made it way much more comfortable and easy!! :)
This guesthouse is very very good!
Heung Eom was really helpful from the start-go. He is quick with correspondence and very accomodating to our requests. Also, we hired him for 2 days to bring us around and he really tried his best to bring us to as many places as possible. Moreover, whereas other tour guides would just leave you at the attraction and wait for you outside, he accompanied us where possible (when the attraction was free for him) and offer to help us take photos. He is a good tour guide and we also shared stories in the car journey. He also bought us a bottle of water once when the weather was super hot/treated us seafood noodles and also brought us to the donation cafe which was really really cool. His rates are reasonable and if you wanted to hire a cab for a whole day to bring you around, he would be your best choice although be sure to liaise or let him know in advance as he might not be always free!
All in all, I had no complaints regarding his and his family's hospitality (his lovely wife also helped us ordered food delivery due to our lack of proficiency of korean). His kids was also adorable (:
The only complaint that we had was that the air-con for the room with bunk bed was quite cranky and noisy. Once in the middle of the night at 3am, when the aircon stopped working halfway and due to the hotness, I went to the kitchen to grab some water but pressed a bell/button that I thought was a light but was instead a bell to ring for heung and he really came up to see what happened. I was really apologetic for accidentally waking him up and perhaps his family but I explained to him that the aircon was not working and there happened to be a spare so he helped us changed the aircon. The living room was also stuffy as it was during summer that we went but I think he will on the aircon if you requested for it.
Another thing was that the pillows were really small, like kids sized pillows, so if you are anal about it, it could be a problem.
Otherwise, worlang house would be a good place to stay at, Heung also sent us to the airport even though our flight was at 8am, which meant he woke up at 7am to drive us there!
Thank you Heung Eom!
We were very pleased with our stay with Heung and got a chance to meet his adorable elder son. He goes the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and is a thoughtful and efficient host. It was our first time sharing a house with other guests and we were concerned about noise and privacy issues but those fears were unfounded. Light breakfast is prepared every morning but with the ideal location; accessible to many restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, you're not going to go hungry! A laundry mat is on the ground level which makes it convenient if you're running out of fresh clothes. We engaged Mr Heung to do a one day tour for us and we most enjoyed his introduction of Jeju. He brought us to this fantastic seafood place with a an amazing sea view, frequented by popular Korean stars apparently. English tours are hard to come by so it's best if you can get Heung to lead you.
Worlang Guest House was the perfect place to start my visit in Korea and Jeju. They were very friendly and helpful, the firm bed and room were very comfortable, the breakfasts just right, and the communal spaces were welcoming and helped me feel at home. Their location is very convenient to accessing downtown Jeju and heading out of town, and only a few blocks from the 5-day market. I would highly recommend Worlang Guest House to visitors to Jeju-si.
