Delicious rustic apartment on two levels for lovers of recycling, 50 meters from the Rambla, realized rebuilding an antique shop typical of the Raval, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Barcelona.
The main feature of this loft is in interior design, made entirely recovering materials and objects, as the kitchen (Paletina, AnatomicaDesign 2012), winner of the Eco-Kitchen GarageDesign & CucineScic 2012 Prize during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. The kitchen is a island built with pallets, as well as other furniture in the house and is equipped with fridge, freezer and microwave.
The loft is composed by a double height ceiling living room with sofa bed. All the rooms overlook the living room, on the ground floor the kitchen and upstairs two bedrooms. The vaulted ceilings and use of wood give life to a rustic and cozy atmosphere.
Two bathrooms equipped with towels, are divided on two floors. Downstairs sink and toilet, upstairs a large shower.
We welcome up to 4 guests.
We offer the chance to live a new experience staying in the midst of downtown Barcelona. Adapted to a public who loves recycling, ecology and environmental sustainability, eager to spend the holidays in a place different from the ordinary.
The loft is located 50 meters from the Rambla, metro Liceu, line 3. 5 minutes from the Boqueria market. At 200 meters from the large city park of Montjuic and a 15-minute walk from the beach of Barceloneta.
A great place to spend your next trip to Barcelona
Alessandra is a great host: very welcoming and accommodating. The apartment is very cozy and interestingly decorated. It is a great place for a couple to stay as there is only one bed. However, there is a cot that is actually more comfortable than the bed, and two people could potentially sleep on the couch if really needed, so it can probably sleep 5. It is in a great location if you want to be right in the heart of everything. It is right off las Ramblas and about a five minute walk to plaza catalunya. This means that you are minutes away from great food, shopping, and late night party spots. However, this also means that it is very noisy. I had trouble falling asleep every night, and staying asleep also, and I am not a light sleeper by any means. It feels like the walls are made of paper, you can hear every sound from every direction. If you are planning on staying out late and enjoying the party scene, this might be the place for you; but, if you are trying to sleep 6-8 hours a night, well, good luck.
Alessandra and Paco are really friendly hosts. A late check-in was possible and they are both very flexible and relaxed, so that we felt very welcomed. We were 5 women and Alessandra gives us the permission for a small extra money, that the 5th person can also sleep in the apartment on the couch (normally you can book the apt for only for 4 persons).
The apartment itself is arty, made with love and at first sight absorbing. You get two keys, which is very practical. The beds and the couch are comfortable and you get towels for your stay.
I think, it´s important to give a honest review and if you want to book, you need to know that it can be very loud outside the whole night (we were guests on Friday and Saturday night). Sure, it´s next to the La Rambla, but this is not the only reason, because it´s the construction type of the front side, that you hear a lot from outside. If you are a light sleeper, it can be difficult. The apartment has less daylight, because you have only one window at the first floor, but this is not really important, when you go out to see the city and I think, it´s the spanish way of life. The steps to the first floor can be a little bit dangerous like you see on the pictures. And with 5 persons it can be difficult with the bathroom, when all want to take a hot shower back-to-back. Don´t forget your blow-dryer and slippers! ;)
The apartment is central located right next to the La Rambla, which is great. It´s a good value for money, when you stay there with three or four persons. We had a memorable weekend in Barcelona and if we will come for a second short trip, maybe we will book again. Thank´s Alessandra and Paco, that we could see "backstage"! At every Airbnb experience it´s a honor to live in a private apartment. Greetings from Frankfurt ♥
Charming flat practically right on the ramble. We adored the charming interior of recycled interior. Clean and well kept. Can highly recommend it. The husband found it noisy - but what isn't noisy right in the center of Barcelona. I slept like a log...
A flat full of character with easy access to all parts of the city. Thank you Alessandra - we'll be back!

Appartement incroyable, hyper bien situé, parfait pour quelques jours à Barcelone, super hôtes vivement conseillé !
The apartment was incredible! Really cool and ticked all the boxes for our stay. Location was great, close to the Ramblas, seafront and gothic area for restaurants and bars. The apartment itself is really unique and definitely made our stay more enjoyable. Highly recommend!!!!
That's a really original place to live. The atmosphere and the decoration are great. It's "arty" style. I really liked it.
The location is perfect. I could go everywhere by walking.
Alessandra is a great host. She answered everytime i needed her and tried to help everytime she could.
Thank you !
One night here was enough for us. We checked out with four nights remaining.
From cockroaches running across the kitchen (before we'd had a chance to even purchase food), to cigarette butts being thrown through the only opening window upstairs, bottles of urine greeting us at the door in the morning, unbelievable amounts of noise from drunks from 2:30am-5:00am , no kettle / toaster, no fresh air and being completely ignored by the host when we offered to compromise on a refund for the four unused nights.
We've stayed in backpacker hostels worldwide through to five star hotels and are Aussies in our 20's/ early 30's who keep a very open mind about most things; but this apartment failed on so many levels. We weren't expecting the Ritz and fully understood this apartment may have had the odd drawback; but our expectations were so far from what we received.
Staying here for the remainder of our trip to Barcelona would have been a disaster. I thought about not writing a review at all, but after being completely ignored by the host when it came to being reasonable and fair, I was left with little choice. Seems meeting halfway wasn't good enough.
Facility wise, this apartment is on par with what you'd expect from a cheap youth hostel and if you value fresh air, a half decent bed, and the chance to sleep past 3:00am, look elsewhere.
Spacious flat & nice location!
Alessandra was very kind to us! Her apartments are so unusual! It too close to million supermarkets, cafe and restaurants on Rambla. We recomended it in summer! And our recomendations to Alessanra`s host!
