The Space

Our home (email hidden) in Athens music history, lots of character and a large back yard with a fire pit. Depending on the time of year, there will be fresh herbs and flowers to enjoy in the yard.

We keep to ourselves for the most part, sometimes you won't even see us. We try to give our guests as much privacy as possible and let you set the level of interaction.

The historic homes and easy walking access to restaurants, coffee shops, nightlife and shopping makes our place perfect for travelers who would rather not do much driving. Our neighbors are fine with groups staying here.

There is a bus stop directly across the street from our house, and biking and walking to downtown, campus, and the stadium is a quick and easy.

Our house is full of interesting and quirky collectibles, art, books, and music that our guests are free to enjoy. We especially welcome artists, musicians, and all sorts of creative types to come enjoy and be inspired by the eclectic vibe of this space.

  • Serra (email hidden) with a beautiful home. She is really friendly, warm, and inviting. The house is a short walk to downtown Athens, and close to everything. I will definitely be staying with Serra again! Thanks Serra.

  • Serra was a great hostess and very nice. The house is quite old, but it's very cool with all the neat items she has collected and the bed is comfy. It's also a great location, being less than a mile from downtown and a 5 minute walk from some of my favorite restaurants in town.

  • I really enjoyed staying at Serra's. I was in town for a wedding for the weekend, and Serra headed over to Atlanta early Saturday; so, I didn't see her much. But she was friendly and helpful when I got there, and made sure I had an iron and ironing board to touch up dress clothes.

I stayed in the room she has set up for her daughter, mostly for the firmer mattress. The bathroom is attached (and shared with Serra). The house is, as other reviewers have noted, filled with eclectic and interesting decorations. A great vinyl collection, colorful walls, and a large porch with sheer white curtains to hang out on. It's older for sure, inside and out, which you can see from the pictures--and filled with character. If you're looking for a standardized hotel room, this isn't it. I like that.

The wedding I was there for was around the corner; so, the location was perfect. It's a couple-minute drive to the downtown campus, or a 15-20 min walk. I mostly walked. Within that short drive and walk distance you'll find restaurants, shops, shopping, etc.

I found it an easy and enjoyable experience and would stay again.

  • This house has more funky character than the photos show. Great location within walking distance of downtown and awesome record and book selection. Sami the cat was our house guide and he was such a sweetheart. Serra was fantastic throughout the entire process. Highly recommend this spot.

My name is Serra and I live in Athens, GA. I am a designer and stylist and enjoy going to shows and collecting all sorts of things. I have a cat named Sami who loves people (so if you don't like cats, this may not be the best place to stay, because he will want to hang out with you). I love music, art, and collaboration. I are more night owls than early birds. We have the option of both a private room and our living room futon, which folds out into a bed.
