Private room and toilet in a beautiful house.
Separated from the rest of the house, with access to patios and a lot of privacy.
The house is located in the coolest area of Guadalajara, surrounded by bars, restaurants, shops and many cultural activities.
There are several bus stops 3 blocks from the house, and downtown is 20-30' walking.
There is a market one block and a half from the house and two small convenience shops in the corner.
Libraries at 7-10 blocks.
Laundry 1 block.
Gas station 1 block.
Café 2-3 blocks, Starbucks 8 blocks.
Ice cream 4 blocks.
The house is very comfortable.
The guests are welcome to sleep in the room that is located on the ground floor, with its own bathroom, near the kitchen and a large patio to enjoy a break.
The house was remodeled respecting the 50´s style and decor. Each space has a particular style that will make your stay in Guadalajara a super-super trip.

Host was great. She took care of our dog. He loved her. We could not stay here because she was booked. But she offered to care for our dog.
I wrote a previous review - and I came back for a second stay.
Being midway between Chapultapec and the Expiatorio (and a manageable walk to both), the location of this house is ideal for a car-less visitor to Guadalajara.
Good food is close by:
Just walk straight up the street where the property is. Half a block and to the right is a great place for breakfast and lunch. There's also a very clean fresh fruit vendor who is usually in front of the school just beyond the gas station. There is a fine-dining Japanese restaurant that's a great value. One more block and you're on La Libertad which has over a dozen restaurants. Across Libertad there are a couple of cafes and two bakeries. One more block and you're on Vallerta which lined some of the city's older and most beautiful mansions.
Downtown is just a short cab ride away. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and the house is artfully designed to be naturally shaded, so even on the hottest, sunniest of days, it's cool inside, yet full of natural sunlight.
If you stay in Guadalajara it's better to stay in the Julieta and Mario's listing (named for its art deco architecture), not downtown which is noisy and fume-ridden during the work week.
Julieta and Mario's place is in a quiet, low traffic, in a residential neighborhood. Abundant food choices are a short walk away including a very handy local fruit market. Downtown is just a short cab ride away. (Taxis are the best way to get around in GDL and they're cheap.)
If you're coming with a car, street parking looks easy.
The space is called a "private room" but it's really a studio apartment.
The space is very private and spotlessly clean. You enter the property through a common entrance, walk through the big common area one-room kitchen/sitting area and then through your own private courtyard into your apartment.
The bed is comfy and the bathroom is sensibly laid out with a big shower with good water pressure. The apartment is light-filled without having the sun beating down on you and it stays refreshingly cool during the heat of the day.
Julieta and Mario are very nice hosts. You can ask them for help and advice and they're very happy to share it. They have a young daughter, who is adorable and two intriguing small dogs.
As a guest, you don't see them much. When they're home, they spend most of their time in their apartment.
If I could give the place, the location and the experience 10 stars, I would. It's a great base for a traveler in Guadalajara.
Great neighborhood, perfect room with a lot of privacy and moreover a wonderful family. We had a great stay with our baby and dog. Julieta and Mario were very welcoming, we couldn't ask for more. Would definitely come back here!
julieta and mario were fantastic. kind, helpful, personable, and lovely. they were very responsive with communication and accommodating of our changing arrival time, as well as our 5.15a departure time! they re-arranged our taxi at 1.00a for us when the pre-arranged taxi driver had his car break down.
the house is wonderful. beautifully decorated, spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. on a side note, we were working on our trip and the wifi was strong and reliable.
the neighborhood was great and incredibly charming. walking distance to all the sights, as well as close to a ton of non-touristy restaurants and bars. very convenient.
would not hesitate recommending this place to anyone.
The Family is AWESOME! A very sweet and artsy place. I arrived on Dec.24, 2014 so Julieta and Mario invited me to their family Christmas dinner. Julieta checked with me multiple times before I arrived. The room is in an individual back room with a private bathroom and a queen size bed. My favorite thing is to watch movies on the comfortable sofa. There's a lot of good restaurants and bars nearby, and it is close to the downtown.
I spent Christmas eve and new years eve in the house with wonderful memories. huge thanks to Julieta.
Julieta was a fantastic host, despite the fact that she had to juggle work, family, hosting and having the flu at the same time! I had a million questions for her about where to eat, drink, shop and sightsee in her neighborhood (which is the coolest one in GDL), and she was super helpful, responsive and just all around buena onda. The room—really more like its own apartment—was great, just as in the pictures. Julieta and her husband have great taste. Comfortable bed, cozy towels, good water pressure in the shower, good wifi, adorable outdoor patio space ... I have no complaints and can't recommend this place enough. Thanks Julieta for the best stay!
