Awesome place to stay. Julieta was a perfect host. Location was great. I felt very safe . It was close to restaurants and bars but her house was very quiet , which I loved.
Oh where do I start?
Julieta and Mario made me feel at home. It was like if we already knew each other.
Their place's description is innacurate. Images and words can't capture the warmth and attentiveness I've experienced. You'll be surrounded by great art, lots of local pieces (they are a big suporter of the Guadalajaran art community), tons of beautiful plants thriving the awesome hot Mexican weather, colors, space, privacy, quietness, two awesome dogs (when I was there they were dogsitting for two more that were equally awesome), a darn comfortable bed and just the kind of comfort money can't buy.
They made me feel like a local. Julieta and Mario only recommended me to terrific places which all celebrated Mexico and Guadalajara's flavors, culture and history.
I could go on and on but I don't want to spoil it for you. I want you to experience Guadalajara yourself and through Julieta and Mario lenses.
I can't wait to go back, this time with my wife, and stay at their place to hang out with this beautiful family who shown me so much about Mexico and Guadalajara in only 3 days.
Beautiful home and lovely family, dogs are adorable! Julieta was quick and easy to communicate with and accommodated us last minute for a short one night. It was really nice to meet her and stay in their lovely decorated house. I hope to return soon!
It was a pleasure to stay at Julieta's studio! Both her and Mario were great and gave us great recommendations! The room was great, with stylish decor and comfortable! We loved the neighborhood and it's walk ability to great bars, restaurants, and downtown. Highly recommend!!
Both Mario and Julieta were gear. They welcomed me showed me around quickly. The room and living quarters was clean and comfortable. The location is great - just a couple of blocks to restaurants and business etc.
The cutest studio! Loved all the mid-century furniture and the cool, vintage art and movie posters throughout the home. If you ever get home tired from a day of adventure (like we did), and want to relax at home, they even have a cool projector with a large collection of blockbuster and indie films for you to enjoy at your diaposal. Made for a nice, relaxing night in. Our host was super welcoming and helpful when we needed cafe recommendations and even offered to schedule a taxi pickup for us to get to the airport. They have two adorable dogs that we got to cuddle and pet while we missed our puppies at home :)
The neighborhood was fantastic, so many great cafes and cenadurias to visit all within easy, walking distance. We took a lot of late night strolls to different dinner spots too, and never felt unsafe while walking back home, which was great. The area is also super bike friendly, and our studio had two bikes for us to use already which was thoughtful! We would definitely recommend a bike ride down Chapultepec Ave, grab a bite and craft beer at La Nacional, and enjoy some people watching! There is also a great farmers market on Sundays along this street you can't miss!
Hopefully we can visit Guadalajara again soon and stay here again! Great experience :)
Great place to stay! Super central and quiet. Very friendly and helpful hosts. I definitely recommend staying here.
