Location, Location, Location! This warm, cozy 1-bedroom apartment is situated in the beautiful Virginia Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta. Sleek hardwood floors in the living room and bedroom, tiled floors in the kitchen and bathroom, an extremely comfortable queen-sized bed, and a pull-out sofa in the living room. The apartment is only a five minute drive from Midtown, fifteen minute walk from beautiful Piedmont Park, and one block from the Virginia Highlands nightlife district. The apartment has cable TV, wireless internet access, full kitchen and coffee maker. Enjoy the beautiful tree-lined neighborhood, the Beltline, Freedom Parkway, and soon to be Ponce City Market. Centrally located close to Emory, CDC, Downtown, Midtown, Virginia Highland, Inman Park and Morningside, I-85, GA-400, and I-75. There is also a Publix grocery store one block south of the apartment that makes cooking for yourself simple while you're here. The apartment is located on the second floor of a very quiet 8-unit building.
There are two entertainment districts in the Virginia Highlands area, north and south, and both have an amazing selection of restaurants to choose from. The south district, which is one block away, has the following restaurants: Belly (breakfast/coffee), Surin (Thai), Harry & Sons (Sushi), Neighbors and Hand in Hand (both bar food), and American Roadhouse (breakfast/diner). For bars: The Dark Horse, Ten High, The Warren, Hand in Hand, Neighbors, Limerick Junction, and Blind Willie's. In the northern section, which is a 10 minute walk, you have: Murphy's (great Sunday brunch), La Tavola (Italian), Noche (tapas), Genki (sushi), Highland Tap (steaks), Goin' Coastal (seafood), Fontaine's (oyster bar), Taco Mac (bar food), George's (great burgers), Yeah! Burger, Paolo's gelato (amazing!) and Yogli Mogli yogurt. For bars: Moe's & Joe's, Fontaine's, and The Cavern.
Also, LaFonda Latina and Fellini's Pizza are 2 blocks south of the apartment. And the famous Clermont Lounge is a 4-block walk.
If you want to be in the middle of the city you will not find a better location than Virginia Highlands. I personally do not have pets but in most instances your pet would be welcome. Please message me if you have any questions.

this place is excellent value for money! The location is great, and walkable to a nice breakfast place and a delicious Thai restaurant. Derek is also very responsive and friendly; when an impending snow storm almost stranded us in DC, Derek was very accommodating as our plans changed. Strongly recommended!
Derek was a very helpful host, and the apartment's location was very convenient for our purposes.
Derek's place was great for us. The neighborhood is super convenient and he was very flexible with our travel time and the plans we had to make. He was great at communicating with me and his place was very clean. The bed was especially comfy.
Derek was very responsive, and the apartment was exactly as I expected. Perfect intown location from which to explore the city. The apartment was very clean, nice bedding and lots of fresh towels. A great value for the money. I would definitely stay here again. Also, the weather got bad and I shortened my stay to avoid the weather. Derek gave me a refund with less than 24 hour notice - thanks for everything Derek!!
Amazing deal for the location --
Derek was a thoughtful and attentive host, and his apartment, close to Emory and within walking distance of all the delights of Virginia Highland, is a steal. If you're craving luxury, look elsewhere, but if you want a pleasant place to stay in a terrific location, this is it.
Derek was a GREAT host! Prompt and clear in all communications which made the experience very pleasant and easy. I had a “girly request” for a mirror in the bedroom and Derek took care of it within the same day! That was greatly appreciated!!
I was in Atlanta for business and I really appreciated the perfect location that offer total silence at night, birds singing in the morning, and best of all; a few minutes away from Highland Avenue where you can find a variety of really nice restaurants, shops and bars. The apartment was clean and perfect for my needs. Nothing fancy but a very good deal for the price. The title of his add says it all; Location!
Derek was a great host, answered every question and saw to our needs. The apartment was comfortable and convenient. The neighborhood is great - walk to coffee, restaurants, bars and grocery stores as well as gift, clothing and consignment shops. A great place to spend a couple of weeks.
Derek was very polite, and his place was great. Everything was handled with clear concise communication; making for an easy and enjoyable stay. We would love to stay at this spot again on another trip to Atlanta.
It is a very specious one bedroom flat. I didn't meet Derek. But he was very responsive. The flat is tidy at a very quiet place. Lots of things need to be updated. But with that kind of price, I guess we shouldn't complain.
After I wrote my review above, Derek left a very negative review about me. What a disappointment! I even gave him a 5-star review! The only thing I said was 'lots things need to be updated' which was true! i was only being honest! Yet he gave me such a revenge! here is what I meant by 'things need to be updated':
1.One of the handles of the big pan was broken, it couldn't be used.
2. There is no kitchen towel. So if you want to do some cooking, you need to use one of the facial towels.
3. All towel were very old and there are red, blue, green towel. Many colours.
4. The dust on the books and shelf was very thick.
5.The bed was not comfortable at all.
6. The heating is gas, but it was very scary when you switch it on or off. My friend was scared to death when we 1st tried it.
7. The bathroom is urgently needed to be updated and the filter of the bath was covered by dirty stuff which seemed has not been cleaned for ages.
I cleaned the table and the cooking area very carefully after my lunch. Yet he said there was exposed food on the table! This is just too much, Derek. You let me check out at 2:00pm because my flight was at 5:30 pm and I had no where to store my luggage! Two friends of mine were picking me up and giving me a lift to the airport. When they were seeing me doing the tidying up and cleaning, they were even joking with me that I was looking aftering the apartment as it was my own!
When I got into your apartment, there were two tea bags and about four spoons of coffee. Have I complained? No! There was no milk in the fridge.
I am so disappointed that I even gave you a 5-star. I just thought to be nice to you because it was not easy for you to rent the apartment out. How could you treat my kindness like this?
Response: If you'd like an honest assessment of the apartment read the
first 6 sentences from the review above. The rest of his review was
amended after I reviewed him to say that I would not rent to him again
because he left the apartment in the worst condition any guest has ever
left it in. This is only the second negative review I have left on Airbnb,
but it was warranted and I stand by it. If his comments concern you I
would ask that you please compare them to the other comments that have been
left by previous guests, and if you have any questions I would be glad to
answer them for you.
I enjoyed my stay at Derek's place. Derek was very good at communicating promptly and providing all the information that I needed. The location is the best aspect of the unit and worked well for my needs. I would be happy to stay there again.
