-Room has a queen bed, dresser, bedstand, wardrobe, tv and tv stand... there is room for a little more.
Who I am:
I am a young, 43 year woman working in Manhattan. I'm a College Administrator at Hunter College-CUNY. My students keep me young..most people think I'm in my early 30's (very up on pop culture ;-) I work M-F, 9-5, but I'm social so I may be out a few nights a week- usually at the gym or yoga. I'm pretty chill though- like to relax and watch tv (I heart sports too).
Dog-lovers only! :-) I have a gorgeous 9-yr old Olde English Bulldogge named Cody. He is the sweetest most well-behaved pup. He will immediately treat you like family but he is very obedient. My bdlg is pet friendly so if you are traveling with any animals we can chat about you bringing a pet too-my boy loves other animals (cats, dogs) they would preferably get get to meet first, but I realize this may not be possible. (There is a dogpark 1 1/2 blocks away). I also have two fabulous dogwalkers so you could use them as well, if needed.
Pre-war..lots of character, friendly neighbors, amazing super. Laundry is in the building behind us or a few blocks away. Free, quick laundry pick up and drop off service in the neighborhood. There is ample long-term parking on the streets surrounding the bdlg.
Sorry, no smoking in the apt. Linens, towels, hair dryer and iron provided.
BEFORE YOU BOOK, PLEASE NOTE:
Please make sure to check the MTA Subway Train Service Advisories before booking as there have been changes to the train schedules in my area lately. Search for MTA Subway Service Advisories on the web and choose the E, M, 7 and G train lines.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Your own set of keys! Come and go as you please. :-)
Hi! I see these less as "rules" and more like courtesies, helpful hints and general information. :-)
My work schedule:
I work from 9-5 Monday-Friday and get up around 7-7:30am to get ready for work. I am in the shower M-F around 7:30am. I usually go to bed around midnight, but will be in my room. I am a pretty heavy sleeper so if you come in later than that, I will most likely not hear you, all I ask is that you keep any noise to a minimum.
Cody- the Olde English Bulldogge:
You should definitely be a dog-lover, if you want to stay with us. Cody is a lover! He will immediately see you as family. He is very well trained and will not get into your things (does not chew shoes, etc.), but it is best to keep your door closed when you are going to out of the apt as he has been know snuggle up in the bed of his new "family". I don't want him to go up on your bed when you and I are away, even though he just sleeps. :) Also if he tries to come into your room when you are home, if you don't want him there, just tell him to go and he will. If you are in the living room, he is allowed on furniture and will try to smooch you while you are sitting- again just tell him "off" and he will get down. He listens very well and he is seven, so he is a pretty mature guy. He is white and does shed, but I keep a de-shredder at the front door. And I constantly sweep and clean up the hair. Lastly, I do have two dogwalkers who comes in a few times a week, so please do not fret if someone comes into the apt to get Cody. I have known these dogwalkers for 7 years and if I trust them with my puppy, I trust them with everything. They are awesome people!
There is no cigarette smoking in the apt. I am on the first floor and you can smoke right outside of the building.
During your stay, I am not responsible for any lost or stolen goods or personal liability of any kind.
Séjour très sympa chez Lori pour ces quelques jours à New-York.
Très bien placé, à seulement 5 min du métro et 15 min du centre de Manhattan.
Lori est très accueillante et son "welcome package" est très (website hidden) pas hésiter à réserver.
We had 5 wonderful nights at Lori's place. It was close to subway and from there to Manhattan.
Our room was great with a comfortable bed and more than enough space.
We used the kitchen every evening.
Lori is a very nice and sweet host and her dog so cute and mellow.
I am a recruiter from a private university in CT, and I was traveling in NYC for the fair circuit that occurs in Late April. It so happens that Lori also works in my field. That was the first pleasant introduction I received. I knew that we would have a grounded appreciation for each other and the “get-up-and-go” nature of the work we do.
That is exactly what I did. I used Lori’s place as a resting place for my things and I did my work in the city. Her place was near a subway 2.5 blocks away, and there is also a street maybe 2 blocks away with access to consistent taxis. Lori was responsive to my ETA and actual arrival. She greeted me warmly and showed me the place/gave me my keys to access her place. I paid for one night and it fit my fancy perfectly.
Lori was incredibly warm and Cody the dog was charming as ever. I’d definitely sign up to stay at Lori’s place again. What you see is what you get, and I can bet it will be pleasant!

I'm from NYC in the US. I work in Admissions with college students. I am friendly, warm, witty and fun! I am very respectful of others spaces and truly value the opportunity to stay in a comfortable home when traveling.
Right at the end of the street is PS1 - an extension of the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). Check out their exhibits for sure!

Bacon brunch...need a I say more? :)
SUSHI!!!! Very good, fresh sushi and Asian fusion. Yummy!
Do you like yoga? You can take a few classes here while visiting. I believe it's $18 per class. Very serene, great instructors. Very close.
This place is great! It's just a few blocks from the apt & has yummy food and great drinks!
LIC Bar is one black from the apt. It is a great place to go and chill. Laid back and has great live music. They also allow dogs, so I can bring mine. :)
This place is an old time speak-easy. Amazing drinks with fresh ingredients.
You must go to Gantry State Park. The view of the Manhattan skyline is like no other. You can relax here for hours in one of the hammocks watching the East River & the most amazing city in the world!
Vernon is very well know for all of it's restaurants, bars, boutiques and coffee shops. Just one block from the apt.
