Welcome to Austin – I'm a creative professional renting out my simple and cozy 2 bedroom in South Central Austin, 10 minutes by car from downtown and even less to SoCo and other cool areas. Chill backyard and I'll give you my guide to Austin as well.
Another angle of the living room. Fireplace on the left and the shelf on the right hides the speakers and stereo. That's also where the monitor for watching movies goes (it's not in the picture because I use it for work sometimes).
Cute south central bungalow off S. Congress / 71 - 2br w/ backyard - simple and welcoming.
The house is 10 minutes from South Congress and South First districts, 15 minutes from downtown and east side (6th street, Red River, Rainey Street, East 6th, etc.) as well as 15 minutes from Barton Springs, South Lamar and West Sixth areas. It's about 20 min. from University of Texas and about 5 min. from St. Edwards University.
There's a bus stop 3 blocks away that goes to a transit hub and also directly downtown. Taxi from downtown is about $15. Airport is 15 minutes away.
Our neighborhood is quiet and our house is a bungalow with vaulted ceiling, bamboo floors – simple and calm with lots of art, plants, and books.
There's two bedrooms with a queen bed each, one bathroom, kitchen, and a backyard with deck and seating.
There's also a couple of good working areas around the house and we have reliable wireless as well as wired connection at desk.
There's a park a block away with a playground and basketball court.
You're welcome to the whole house with the exception of a few closets.
Interaction with Guests
I will help you get settled and show you around but otherwise I'll be out of your hair and not at the house – but available by phone, of course.
It's simple, honest, and quiet with lots of trees and everyone's chill.
S. Congress is the nearest big street and it will take you directly downtown, cruising through awesome SoCo district on the way.
It's also easy to get to pretty much anywhere in the city because you have access to three highways within 5 minutes.
If you don't have a car there's a bus stop within 3 blocks and it goes through a transit center with lots of transfer options. The bus also goes directly downtown where there's yet many more transfer options (or bike rental, car2o, pedicab, regular cab, etc.)
The airport is about 15-20 minutes away.
We prefer to allow only a few close people (aside from guests) over at the house so no parties please.
The master bedroom is large and has high quality queen bed.
The second bedroom is a little smaller and also has a good queen bed.
The reservation was canceled 189 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Stayed at the house for almost 6 weeks and had a great time. Fairly quiet neighborhood, great neighbors, enough space for everyone and Daniel keeps the place warmly decorated and friendly. Would totally recommend!
The host did a great job of making us feel welcome by having breakfast food available at the beginning of our stay. He was considerate and generous in allowing us to use different items around his house and made sure we had everything we needed. The neughborhood was nice and had friendly neighbors.
This is an awesome little eclectic house that has a personality all its own. It lives up to the Austin, TX vibe with an original feel and all the necessities. Perfect for a month long stay in the area. Clean, safe, comfortable, and plenty of space. Absolutely loved the stay!
Very nice meeting Daniel on arrival. The house was a great surprise, even better than the pictures.
We stayed a month and had everything we needed. Super convenient location and within a short drive of everything (Downtown, SoCo, Airport, Barton Springs...). The neighbourhood is a pleasure to walk around and very safe.
Highly recommended to anyone looking for a great experience in Austin. Thanks again for everything!
Daniel was an absolutely fabulous host. He had the apartment in great shape when we moved in, and even let us see the place in person before we decided to sub lease. He was very organized and responsive to our inquires and issues. The apartment is decorated very charmingly and looks even cooler in person. We had a very positive experience. The neighbors were great, the neighborhood was great, the overall stay was awesome. I would defiantly recommend Daniel's house for anyone looking to stay relatively close to downtown Austin.
We had exactly 24 hours in Austin, and we happened to be there en route to a wedding on the same weekend as ACL. Daniel was accommodating from the very beginning, as he let us book his house for just one night, even though I am sure he could have found someone to rent it for the entire weekend. Everything about our stay was perfect. Daniel and his wife met us at the house when we got there from the airport (only a 15 minute drive), showed us where everything was, gave us some restaurant recommendations and instructions for using the wifi, told us to text or call him if we had any questions, and left. The house is beautiful - super tastefully decorated, very comfortable, with a great yard - we kept saying we wished we could stay longer (and that we had such impeccable taste in decor...) The location was great - in the 24 hours we were there, we went to two museums near the University, explored South Congress and South 1st Street, went swimming at Barton Springs, checked out some great restaurants and live music - and it was all very easy to get to from Daniel's house. We were in a bit of a rush to leave in the morning, so I texted Daniel, and he told me where to leave the key, and we were off. This was our first airbnb experience, and I am already a total convert- never staying at a hotel again. I highly recommend staying at Daniel's house - it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. My only regret is that our time there was so short.
