Really at this point, looking at Adriana's reviews there's not much more to say except that they are spot-on! She's a lovely host and even lovelier person who I got to know over the nearly two months I stayed in her apartment. Her creative energy is infectious and she even inspired me to paint my shoes! And I am NOT a crafty person.
She was always very helpful and accommodating of anything I needed. She knows her neighborhood extremely well and was always happy to draw me a map and point me in the right direction. She is great to chat with, but was also very courteous in letting me work when I needed to (I was in the city for research). Her living room is a great place to sit and study or work, surrounded by beautiful paintings.
The apartment itself has everything you need but isn't fancy. The bed is very comfortable and the whole apartment gets LOTS of natural light. The huge wall-to-wall windows in the bedroom are lovely to stare out at the street from, night and day.
It is a noisy street corner in the middle of the hipster district, but that said, you're also on arguably one of the best street corners in the neighborhood. Everything you need is close by - the pharmacy across the street, the convenience store literally below you, the supermarket a hop and skip, and an amazing bakery just down the street. Two metro lines (1 and 3) are within walking distance, and a two metrobus lines as well. Taxis rove the neighborhood day and night.
If you like to cook, you should know Adriana is adamant about keeping the kitchen very clean, which is great. But that said don't expect to be cooking big meals - all the pots, pans, and tools she has are for 1-2 people. But really you won't be cooking with this much good food around you.
Muchas gracias, Adriana!!!
Adriana's apartment is a comfortable, welcoming home in a perfect location! Roma Norte is a great neighborhood for visiting Mexico City. It is a perfect area because it has many excellent, affordable restaurants, feels safe to walk at all hours, and has many shops, arts and parks nearby. There is easy access into the center of town to see historical sites by taxi, Uber or we even walked it one evening. Adriana is a warm, relaxed hostess who welcomes you and is helpful with whatever you need. Her English is excellent. Her apartment is well laid out with plenty of space and privacy. It is so interesting to be in a place surrounded by her beautiful art. Our time was too short and we hope to come back sometime in the future.
I stayed with Adriana for 2.5 months and it was fantastic. The apartment is just like in the photos, although the paintings change constantly as Adriana works on new pieces and sells others. It's like living in a rotating art gallery, which was one of my favorite aspects of living there. There is also a cleaning lady who comes every couple of weeks and she will do your room and bathroom, etc for only $3.
The area the apartment is located in is great. Safe and pretty, with lots of cafes, bars, and restaurants. There is a convenience store downstairs and a grocery store across the street. It is also close to several metro stops, making it easy to get around the city.
Adriana herself is a wonderful room-mate. She is kind, helpful, and just generally lovely to be around. I would absolutely recommend her and would definitely stay there again. I was very sad to leave!
Adriana is a lovely host living in a lovely place.
Let me start with the house. It is even better than in the pictures, the living room is full of paintings by Adriana, the room is big, the bed is comfortable and the neighborhood is just perfect. It´s right in the middle of the action of Roma Norte, 10 minutes walk to Insurgentes subway station, lots of bars and restaurants around, and an OXXO right downstairs. What else can you ask for?
Adriana was a perfect host, always ready to help, really easy-going and flexible... To me, it just felt like an old time good friend and roommate.
REALLY LOVELY PLACE AND HOST!!!
Oh my goodness, I did not want to leave Adriana's! This was the longest I've ever stayed in an airbnb and it meant that I felt so at home I wished I COULD live there! I feel in love with the neighbourhood, it's such a pretty leafy street with everything you need right on your doorstep. I did LOADS of walking and always felt safe. Adriana is the nicest, kindest, sweetest host, we got on super well and I loved being surrounded by her artwork. The room was perfect and I was even lucky enough to make a friend in her other guest Megan. Thank you for making my Mexico so special xx
Adriana was a wonderful host! She was extremely welcoming and the room I rented in her apartment was perfect. The location is amazing! Roma Norte has hundreds of restaurants and cafes and is walking distance to galleries and the Insurgentes Metro station and the Metro Bus line. I highly recommend staying with Adriana in her wonderful apartment.
