Food Connoisseur?

There are some great restaurants right on Annette Street, moments away, as well as a number of convenience stores that are open late. Within walking distance are a variety of coffee houses, an organic butcher, two restaurants and an excellent fast food local favourite serving pizza, hamburgers, souvlaki, wings, etc.

The neighborhood is also a wonderful place to sample and enjoy a vast array of culinary delights. You can walk to trendy and excellent restaurants at either:

• Bloor West Village: 10 minutes walking south – known for Polish and Ukrainian deli's, fresh fruits and vegetables, wonderful restaurants and boutiques, as well as a movie theatre.

• The Junction: 10 minutes walking north – known for great restaurants, the best chocolate and ice cream stores, bakeries, and as much variety as you would find in any small city as far a food and services.

• Lake Ontario: the boardwalk, the beach (yes we have a beach!!) and Sunnyside outdoor pool, are walking distance (may take 45 minutes to walk and a few minutes to drive there).

Please email me for details if you want to know more.

Check In
  • This was actually our second time staying in this space (we also visited last July). Much like last time, Lorna was warm and attentive. Her property is clean, comfortable, and a great place to relax and sleep in. My husband and I just got married over the weekend, and we were anxious to return to a comfortable space in such a pretty, mellow neighborhood where we could relax a few days before returning to Philly. When we arrived, we even discovered a few small gifts from Lorna. We feel lucky to have revisited such a wonderful host.

    Response from Lorna:

Thank you for the lovely review - I'm so pleased you enjoyed your return visit! I look forward to staying in touch.

  • The apartment was exactly as it was pictured on the website. The neighborhood was beautiful and close to High Park which was a great place to go for a run. The local restaurants were good too. The best part of our stay was Lorna the owner. Not only was the apartment very clean she left us a bowl of fruit and a bouquet of flowers. When we asked if there was a slow cooker she was quick to give us her own. She even provided a snack while I studied in her marvelous back yard. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, stress free stay in TO

  • We have nothing but good things to say about this wonderful vacation apartment. It is well laid out, attractively decorated, perfectly equipped, and exceptionally clean. And the owner is delightful--anxious to be helpful, eager to please, and quite available. We left for Toronto on an early-morning flight and knowing that we'd be hungry, she had homemade soup cooking on the stove when we arrived. This place is five-star--we plan to reserve it whenever we go to Toronto.

    March 2014
    Response from Lorna:

Woo Hoo - 5 stars - thanks! You were 5 star guests!!!

    March 2014
  • We were thrilled with the unit, with Lorna, and with our stay. Everything was clean, attractive, comfortable and extremely well stocked. Lorna was very friendly and communicative without being intrusive in any way. Her lovely soup was so welcome on our late arrival after a suitcase went missing. Although a basement suite, it is well-lighted and there is no feeling of being underground. The location was very close to where my son (whom we were visiting) lives, but it was also easy to get downtown. Several family members will be going back to Toronto in April, and we are already negotiating with each other about who gets to stay in each of Lorna's units!

    January 2014
    Response from Lorna:

Thanks Therin - I always like to hear that guests enjoyed the home-made soup I make for them! It was a pleasure to get to know you both a bit better on the drive to the airport, and I do look forward to hosting several of your family members in April! By then, it will hopefully be warm enough that you are able to enjoy some bbq time in the backyard!

    January 2014
  • The warm welcome to this very pleasant suite, including freshly cooked chicken soup was sensational. The apartment was extremely comfortable, conveniently located near Bloor West Village. Many thanks for your hospitality Lorna we cold not have asked for more.

I am a fun loving professional that loves to meet new people, and knows how important it is to be comfortable in a clean environment when away from home. My goal is to make my guests thrilled with their stay. If I'm available, I don't mind picking my guests up from the airport or bus terminal, or returning them, and will often take them out to get groceries if they don't have a car. In the warmer weather I enjoy hosting bbq's in the backyard for my guests. I've hosted people from around the world and I'm so happy to have found airbnb, as I also enjoy staying with hosts when I travel. I love photography and know some of the best places in the city to take pictures! Let me know if you are interested and we can certainly compare notes. Safe travels!
