  • Very nice flat, there's everything hat you need on vacation. I think it's best location in Barcelona. you can get to all places by foot or by bike (you can rent it on the same street in 20 meters from the apartment to Santa Maria). Very nice staff in the rental agency. It's better or short time staying not longer then one week, because it's VERY small. And it's situated on the too floor in the house with out elevator, so if you don't like sport activities to get up and down may be difficult )

  • Great apartment and great location. Very friendly staff

  • When rain damage in our originally booked apartment caused temporary chaos
the day before our arrival, Anna handled the situation well and we were
moved without problems to Picasso. She was very friendly and warmly
welcomed us to our new place. The apartment is perfectly positioned on a
cute street in La Ribera (El Born); we were surrounded by great tapas
restaurants and shops, and within close reach of everything else worth
    seeing in the center.

The apartment itself was very cute and the bed was extremely comfortable.
Negatives – the toilet gives off a strong sewage smell, which we somewhat
covered by putting a wet towel over a drain at the foot of the toilet; the
wireless is basically non-existent, as it’s impossible to connect to and
stay connected to; late at night, loud street noise often woke us up. In
spite of the negatives, we loved the neighborhood and enjoyed our stay.

  • Had the George Orwell Apartment at Place Antonio Lopez for the week of Feb 12th.
Overall the place was clean , nice layout , comfortable bed, modern styling, fabulous location, a nice change form having the cramped quarters of a hotel room.
We arrived at around 1pm and were told the place was not ready yet, though we could leave our bags in the restaurant and come back in an hour.
This seemed reasonable considering check in time is 3pm.
The location is across from Port Vell and walking distance to a handful of restaurants, and in a well lit plaza, that combined with the secure entrance, gave some sense of security.

The downside is the shower situation ! The bathroom is very modern and with shower only, the issue is lack of available hot water. One normal shower, including shutting off the water during your shower and the hot water tank is empty. Also the tub area was very slow to drain , which is not great when your trying to feel clean at the end of the day. When we made a complaint, we were told " every apartment has a hot water tank that is limited to a certain amount of hot water in each apartment… after using the first tank you will have to wait some time to have more heated water; try to take showers at different hours and please let me know if the problem persists."
If you read other reviews this is nothing new, others have complained the same.
Reality is at the end of a long day you look forward to that shower, when it doesn't happen as expected then it really wrecks your day. This shower issue impacted the weeks holiday in Spain, it added some stress that was not needed.
More than that is the lack luster response, like it or not they are in the "hotel" business and should consider their customer.
I would recommend to anyone to carefully read the reviews and if something seems to repeat itself or seems to be any issue, it most likely is.

  • We had a great stay at this apartment despite a few inconveniences associated with checking in. After arriving in the early afternoon we met Anna at her restaurant in the El Born, and she then walked us to the apartment which was just a few minutes trek up the road. To be totally honest, our initial welcome was not the best experience - Anna seemed preoccupied with her cafe and she clearly viewed our arrival as a work day inconvenience. She walked us through the neighborhood at high speed, caring little for our luggage struggles, and when we arrived she ran up the five flights of stairs without looking back as we scrambled under the heavy duress of our bags. Overall, the apartment is as advertised and as pictured on the site - it's quite nice. The location is the best part and it couldn't be better. The apartment is in the absolute heart of one of the best neighborhoods in Barcelona, close to many great restaurants and bars, a five minute walk to the beach, and a ten minute walk through the Gotic to the Ramblas. It was so good that we barely used the metro. But.... because of the popular location, it gets very loud at night. We were okay with the noise, but if you're looking for a quite apartment, this is not the place for you. Other cons include a bad sewage-esque smell welling up from the toilet (not pleasant, but tolerable) and a poorly stocked kitchen. So, if you're in Barcelona to hit up dinners and bars and be in the heart of it, this is a great option. If you want to relax and be treated with warmth, i would consider this review.

  • Good apartment in excellent position, it's like in the picture. We stayed at the last floor so there wasn't much noise from the street. It was cozy and comfortable, basic kitchenware, nice bedroom.

    Just some remarks:
    1) terrible smell from the toilet in the first three days, that we could hardly manage.
    2) no elevator and steep steps
    3) the wifi connection never worked

  • Very nice apartment, very uncomplicated and friendly contact. The location near to Barcelonetta and all the other hot spots is great though it is a bit loud because of the traffic (Passeig de Colom, Passeig d´Isabell II).

  • Anna took good care of us. We made a mistake and booked a day more in addition to what she had confirmed when we first got in touch. She found us a beautiful appartment to stay at for that single night. Not only that, she made sure out luggage was transferred from one appartment to the next one, so we could enjoy the day in Barcelona. The appartment is in a central location - not noisy at all, much to my surprise. It's within walking distance from a metro station; museums; and all sorts of bars and restaurants. For foodies I'd recommend "El Passadis del Pep" for seafood and Copelia for drinks. They are both just a block or two away.

  • The apartment was as advertised - In a great neighborhood. The only drawback was the 65 steps! But we are in excellent shape now.

Casa de Les Lletres y Casa del Argent
About
For us, Casa de Les Lletres is a life-long dream come true. For many years we have thought about how nice it would be to have a small b&b.. We have both enjoyed good and long careers, Sabrina as a marketing and business developer and Juan as an architecht. We have worked for large corporations and for ourselves, often juggling international projects that meant travelling to many destinations. Refurbishing Casa de Les Lletres makes our dream come true. We have always been fascinated by the simple and good things in life. Whenever we travel ourselves, we look for places to stay that are small and cozy and often luxurious in their approach to the little things that we tend to notice. We appreciate original ideas and like to be around things that are so well designed and crafted that they will last for a very long time. With Casa de Les Lletres, we want to re-invent the traditional, cozy Bed & Breakfast. We have conceived the experience as a breath of fresh air for people who often travel – and a restful oasis for families looking for a short break in Barcelona Our idea is to introduce the original B&B idea to our passion for design, architecture, culture, originality, creativity and quality. We want our guests to experience the special blend of contemporary luxury and timeless beauty that is Barcelona
