About this listing
My adorable and ultra-private casita offers a restful and cozy environment for late-night crashers or week-long adventures in Nashville. It's a great space, 15 min to downtown. Be yourself, nap your naps, and plan your days exploring our city!
The casita features a queen sized bed and a futon, which provides room for 4 to sleep.
Only 5 miles from downtown, 2 minutes from I-40, my Casita is just what you're looking for!
The casita ("little house") is a cute, cozy, detached backyard cabin in West Nashville, owned by a cool young person who can help you find neat things to do in town! The casita does *not* have its own private bathroom, but the main bathroom inside the house (which guests share with me, the host) is awesome - everyone loves the giant pedestal tub and endless hot showers courtesy of my tankless waterheater. The casita has a separate entrance, a queen sized bed, a minifridge and microwave. Guests also have access to the kitchen if you're looking to cook up some grub. I love hosting people (and their pets) of all kinds, whether you're looking for a short midnight road trip crash or a longer trip to Nashville.
The casita will accommodate 4 guests comfortably: 2 on the comfortable queen-sized bed and 2 on a comfortable futon.
The casita also has a desk and chair, room to hang clothes, robes for your use during your stay, and a big window looking out into the backyard and watch the birds chow down at the feeder. Towels and bathing essentials are provided in the bathroom in the house.
Enjoy some coffee! The casita has a Keurig and a kettle so you can help yourself to a cup of coffee or tea when you wake up to the sounds of the neighbor's chickens and lazy rooster clucking away.
For those who have food to store or prepare, the casita has a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a selection of hot teas. For more elaborate cooking, guests will have free use of the main kitchen by request.
Check out is 10am, check in is 4pm, but I am flexible - just make arrangements at least 24 hours before your stay if you'd like to arrive earlier or stay later.
Free street parking, or optional use of the enclosed (gated) driveway if you prefer. Dogs welcome and cats in crates are fine; I have a large black labradoodle who does not have access to the casita, though he will be in the backyard to meet and greet you. Big fenced backyard with fire pit and lovely back porch that you're welcome to enjoy while you're here!
Getting back to the house from downtown is no problem (taxi), but I suggest that you take a Lyft to get INTO town.
Lyft is an app-based taxi service that works on Android or iOS devices that allows you to contact a driver directly and they come straight to the house. Way more reliable and faster than the cabs in Nashville. A trip from my house to downtown is about $18. Use my promo code CHMU36 to get $25 off your first ride!
A NOTE about my dog: I have a happy and large labradoodle named Mowgli, who is sweet and well-mannered, but he is big. If you're timid around large dogs, know ahead of time that he will definitely want to meet and lick you, though he's very sweet-natured.
I look forward to hosting you!
You'll have access to the backyard, the casita, the patio dining furniture, and the main house kitchen by request.
Interaction with Guests
I tend to leave the interaction level up to the guest. If you're a people person who wants to go out or have dinner, let's do it! If you need time and space to work or catch up on rest, I will not disturb you.
West Nashville has all the necessities covered (groceries, target/walmart about 6 minutes away), plus great restaurants (try new Flip Burger, the Blue Moon, or the Stone Fox!) and fun thrift shopping on Charlotte Pike if you're into funky and eclectic vintage stuff. My house is located in a super safe and friendly neighborhood, with an adorable family-friendly park (Charlotte Park) just 2 blocks up the street - great for morning/afternoon walks. Small community grocery store 2 blocks away for last-minute needs.
There is a bus stop about 1 mile from my house. If you plan to come without a car of your own, I strongly recommend making arrangements with in advance about getting rides about town. Due to Nashville's small size and many sporting and entertainment events, getting a taxi to come out to pick you up when you're at the house can mean a long wait on the wrong day - which is why Lyft is a great alternative. I'm open to dropping you off in town or at a bus stop if you need -- just make arrangements before your stay.
My neighbors are very relaxed and easy-going, but I still want to keep in their good graces. For that reason I ask that if you come in late (after 10), you keep your voice(s) down as you park and walk to the casita.
No smoking allowed in the casita, but you may smoke in the yard or on the uncovered section of the back porch. I will revoke the security deposit if you smoke anywhere indoors.
The casita is airy and comfortable, even when 4 are staying for a girl's weekend or family trip!
We had an excellent stay at Charlotte's! Two comfortable beds, ice cold AC, and a friendly host and dog- what more could you want? Bathroom was inside the main house and was nice and clean. Parking was on the street in front of the house and was easy. Driving in and out of the city was a snap! We would stay here again!
My stay at the casita was great! Check in was so easy. I was there from 8pm to 5:30am the following morning since I had plans to hit the road at sunrise and Charlotte's casita was perfect for a good night's rest. Bed was comfy, AC felt great on a hot summer Nashville day, water was provided, and she even had written down some of her favorite recommendations around the city. Waking up to crowing roosters in the distance was quite relaxing! Oh and her dog is so so sweet - I played fetch with him in the backyard for a bit before going to bed. If you're passing through or visiting Nashville be sure to book a stay at Charlotte's Casita!!
We loved staying in Charlotte's sweet little Casita! I'm 54 years old and was traveling with my daughter (age 23) and her friend and their dog. This is a cute and comfortable little cottage behind Charlotte's house. She welcomed our dog with open arms and the back yard which surrounds the little Casita is completely fenced in. Charlotte's dog and our dog played and played which was absolutely perfect given that our dog had been riding in the car all day.
The little cottage has 2 beds. My daughter and her friend slept great on the double bed and I slept deeply and restfully on the full size futon. We enjoyed the coffee provided and she even had the little fridge fully stocked with beer. The internet worked great too. We noticed all of the special touches that made this place comfortable and so cute including the fun lighting. The air conditioner worked great and kept us cool during a muggy night.
Charlotte is so welcoming and provided a nice comfortable routine for sharing of her bathroom that is inside the main house. I was worried about disturbing her if I needed to go in during the night, but she reassured me it was fine and so I felt very comfortable doing so.
This was my first airbnb experience and I'm really thrilled that we found Charlotte's place and appreciate so much the space she provided for us and for our dog.
The casita was perfect for a long weekend girls trip. The location is not too far from downtown. Charlotte was very accommodating and I would definitely plan another stay there if I return to Nashville. Also Mowgli is a true gentleman. He escorted us ladies to and from the main house when we'd come home at night.
Charlotte was an awesome host! She took the tension out of it, and eased my mind as I was travelling alone. She was very welcoming, super laid back, and made my stay really enjoyable! I hope to come back to stay with her again!
Charlotte is a great host. She replies very quickly to phone messages and e-mails and is more than welcoming. A credit to AIRBNB.
We had a great time staying in Nashville at the casita! It was cute, comfortable and had everything we needed. Charlotte was very welcoming and had great recommendations. Mowgli her dog was also a perfect greeter when we arrived and very sweet. We had stayed in downtown Nashville before, but enjoyed exploring West Nashville for the first time.

About the Host, Charlotte
I'm a PhD student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.I love traveling, and am so excited to be a part of this awesome home sharing community!
I love being a hostess, from baking to making coffee and finding ways to meet the needs of guests. I'm a knitter and spinner (yep! I Spins my own yarn!) and love my dog. .
I'm so thrilled to be a member of airbnb, and have loved being both a host AND guest in this community. If you're a little nervous about it - don't be! That's what public reviews are for, and email/phone exchanges make you feel better about the whole process if it's your first time. I recommend that you utilize airbnb's tools like messaging and calling, so you can get to know your hosts and the charm their city has to offer.
