My adorable and ultra-private casita offers a restful and cozy environment for late-night crashers or week-long adventures in Nashville. It's a great space, 15 min to downtown. Be yourself, nap your naps, and plan your days exploring our city!
The casita is a cute, renovated cabin in West Nashville, owned by a cool young person who can help you find neat things to do in town! Bathroom is shared with the host (not in the casita), but you'll have 24-hr access to the bathroom and kitchen as needed. I love hosting people of all kinds, whether you're looking for a short midnight road trip crash or a long-term trip to Nashville.
Only 5 miles from downtown, 2 minutes from I-40 (which will take you anywhere you need to go around town), my Casita is just what you're looking for!
The Casita is a separate studio guest house in my backyard with a separate entrance. Well-equipped with heat and a/c. It's still a developing work in progress, but you won't even notice when you step inside. The casita is charming and warm, and will provide the perfect escape for you on your trip to Nashville.
The casita will accommodate 4 guests comfortably: 2 on the full-sized bed and an optional 2 on the futon which folds out into a second full-sized bed. Both mattresses are comfortable for short or longer stays. If you have more than 4 in your party, please ask about accommodations; I have a twin air mattress that we can use.
The casita also has a desk and chair, room to hang clothes, robes for your use during your stay, and a big window looking out into the backyard. Though there is no bathroom in the casita, you will love the shared bathroom in the main house! It features a beautiful modern pedestal tub, great for long soaks after a day exploring music city!
The casita has a Keurig and a kettle so you can help yourself to a cup of coffee or tea when you wake up to the sounds of the rooster next door.
For those who have food to store or prepare, the casita has a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a selection of hot teas. For more elaborate cooking, guests will have free use of the main kitchen by request & arrangement (so we don't plan to cook the same night!).
Check out is 10am, check in is 4pm, but I am flexible - just make arrangements at least 24 hours before your stay if you'd like to arrive earlier or stay later.
Free parking with space in enclosed (gated) driveway if you prefer. Dogs welcome; I have a large black labradoodle who does not have access to the casita, though he will be in the backyard to meet and greet you. Big fenced backyard with fire pit and lovely back porch; you're welcome to enjoy a fire outside, or in the fireplace in the living room (make arrangements in advance so we can have firewood for you - we will ask that you chip in $3 for wood).
Getting back to the house from downtown is no problem (taxi), but I suggest that you take a Lyft to get INTO town.
Lyft is an app-based taxi service that works on Android or iOS devices that allows you to contact a driver directly and they come straight to the house. Way more reliable and faster than the cabs in Nashville. A trip from my house to downtown is about $18. Use my promo code CHMU36 to get $25 off your first ride!
A NOTE about my dog: I have a hyper and large labradoodle named Mowgli, who is sweet and well-mannered, but he is big. If you're timid around large dogs, know ahead of time that he will definitely want to meet and lick you, though he's very sweet-natured and does not bite.
I look forward to hosting you!
Interaction with Guests
I tend to leave the interaction level up to the guest. If you're a people person who wants to go out or have dinner, let's do it! If you need time and space to work or catch up on rest, I will not disturb you.
West Nashville has all the necessities covered (groceries, target/walmart about 6 minutes away), plus great restaurants (try new Flip Burger, the Blue Moon, or the Stone Fox!) and fun thrift shopping on Charlotte Pike if you're into funky and eclectic vintage stuff. My house is located in a super safe and friendly neighborhood, with an adorable family-friendly park (Charlotte Park) just 2 blocks up the street - great for morning/afternoon walks. Small community grocery store 2 blocks away for last-minute needs.
There is a bus stop about 1 mile from my house. If you plan to come without a car of your own, I strongly recommend making arrangements with in advance about getting rides about town. Due to Nashville's small size and many sporting and entertainment events, getting a taxi to come out to pick you up when you're at the house can mean a long wait on the wrong day - which is why Lyft is a great alternative. I'm open to dropping you off in town or at a bus stop if you need -- just make arrangements before your stay.
My neighbors are very relaxed and easy-going, but I still want to keep in their good graces. For that reason I ask that if you come in late (after 10), you keep your voice(s) down as you park and walk to the casita.
No smoking allowed in the casita, but you may smoke in the yard or on the uncovered section of the back porch. I will revoke the security deposit if you smoke anywhere indoors.
Charlotte was great. We just moved here as a family and haven't quite got settled. She had great suggestions and offered to help us out in the future of we needed it. We had a wonderful time and the casita was cozy and relaxing. Thank you for eberything
I was visiting Nashville for a few days and needed a place to stay close to Vanderbilt (about 3 miles) and Charlotte's house was perfect! It happened to be the coldest time of the year so the Casita (detached structure in the backyard) was a bit chilly but after telling Charlotte about it she put in another space heater and fixed the draft coming from under the door and it was very comfortable. Her dog Mogli was sweet and real friendly, he would sit outside the door of the Casita for a while waiting to play! I had a very nice stay in this cute house located in a safe family neighborhood, thanks!
Charlotte was extremely helpful and welcoming. Upon my arrival she showed me around the house and then walked me out to the Casita. The casita is very cute and comfy, really enjoyed the privacy. The backyard is fenced in so if you bring your dog it will be able to play outside. Also she has a dog, he's is such a gentle soul, loves to play and is very well behaved.
A pretty and quaint casita in the backyard with coffee maker, mini fridge, and a keurig coffee maker. The bathroom is located in the house and several loud roosters waddle next door, approx 25 feet. You get what you pay for and I will not be returning due to the roosters. Charlotte is an excellent and accommodating host, however. Thank you for all your effort and kindness.
We had a great stay at Charlotte's. The casita was so cute and exactly what we were looking for after being on the road for awhile. She had great suggestions for places to eat/drink. Highly recommend!
Charlotte was very welcoming and so was her sweet dog! My husband and I had a wonderful stay! The casita had everything we needed and the bed was super comfy. The best part of staying here is all the great recommendations Charlotte gave! From reaturants and breweries, to how to get around town and the best place to park. We had such an amazing time in Nashville! And a big reason why we had such a great time is because we stayed at Charlotte's. I believe we would have missed out on so much. Also her neighbors have chickens and bunnies! So cute! Can't wait to come back for another visit!!!
I love this little spot! It was pretty darn cold while I was in Nashville, but warm and cozy in the casita. Thanks so much for everything, Charlotte, hope to see you again soon.

I'm a PhD student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.I love traveling, and am so excited to be a part of this awesome home sharing community!
I love being a hostess, from baking to making coffee and finding ways to meet the needs of guests. I'm a knitter and spinner (yep! I Spins my own yarn!) and love my dogs. .
I'm so thrilled to be a member of airbnb, and have loved being both a host AND guest in this community. If you're a little nervous about it - don't be! That's what public reviews are for, and email/phone exchanges make you feel better about the whole process if it's your first time. I recommend that you utilize airbnb's tools like messaging and calling, so you can get to know your hosts and the charm their city has to offer.
