The Space

You are looking to live amongst a big community of people this is the spot. This is a huge house with 6 bedrooms. Great to interact with other travellers or students. Each room has it's own key. You are right beside the metro station and minutes from downtown. You will share 2 bathrooms one being a shower and one being a WC. Extreme high speed internet is inclueded 25MB/7MB. there is a huge kitchen and a huge separated dining room with everything you need to prepare your food. There is parking on the street but for now there is a lot of constructions of a big hospital so a little inconvenient to fiind the place.

A few current notes: At the moment there is a huge construction site in front of the (website hidden) Gill University is building the first Super Hospital in Montreal. That will cause loud noise outside from 7:00am to 5:00pm. Other then that you should know that sharing a space with many other people is not the same as having your own private hotel room as teh price reflect.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In

  • The flat itself is great. There's everything you need and the bedrooms are spacious and clean. Unfortunately there is a big building site in front of the flat now which meant there was a fair amount of noise and dust during the week. Peter is a great host and was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place for a cheap, clean place to stay in Montréal.

  • First off, we had no idea as we stepped off the metro about the construction surrounding the house, so we took a cab which almost took us off the island before realizing the cabby was most likely just driving as far as he could before one of us spoke up. Do NOT trust the cabs.
Peter and his girlfriend were Very helpful and kind, and he came right away to pick us up and take us to the house. However, he told us the construction should finish by dinner time. We didn't get to sleep til at least 2am due to the work, if not the noise made by other residents (there was a man directly across from us who was watching tv on his laptop ALL NIGHT).
The room itself was simple and relatively clean, but the rest of the house was gross. We didn't hang out in the house at all, just showered, slept, and left.
Also, be mindful that this place is a half an hour subway ride to the centre, so when planning events, plan ahead.
There's much more I could say, but in any case, Peter was a great guy, even if his listing is less than desirable.

  • I spent 1 month in montreal and this place was a good choice! The place was nice and clean and its price was reasonable! Also, it was very close to Vendome station which makes it easier to transport inside the city!

  • Peter's a very helpful guy even though I couldn't meet him in person (he was traveling) he ensured that everything was in place. Had no issues right from checking in to checking out. The place on Boulevard Decaire is just stones throw away from Vendome Metro station and two blocks away from Rue Sherbrooke (lots of restaurants and Depanneurs) so very well connected to the city and downtown in particular

Room had a single window and was just enough for a person and am sure even two can fit in comfortably for a few days.

Has a big kitchen with toaster, electric cooker, water heater and good amount of utensils if you wish to cook.

Toilet was a bit small though and the sink was too low so a bit uncomfortable however the shower room was big enough but for this price it was a good deal.

I would def. stay here again

  • It was a little difficult to find the place because of instructions. It's not in the best area of Montreal either, so I didn't feel that comfortable walking at night from Vendome Metro station. I was a little late so I had to wait for someone to come and explain the "house rules". The house is like a private hostel, with several rooms converted into bedrooms. The room itself was pretty good except for the desk chair that was stained with i don't know what and the linens which had tiny hairs all over it. The wash room was pretty dirty and i didn't even try to go into the shower. I guess it's fine if you're on a budget and you're not too picky about cleanliness. I was just staying overnight so it wasn't the biggest deal to go without a shower. I would definitely choose not to stay there if I were going for more than 1 day. I've been in worse hostels. At least you have the privacy of a locked room that is spacious and has enough drawer/closet space to accomodate your stuff!
