The apartment, located on the second floor of an ancient palace of 1500, is composed of: living room with two single sofa beds and bedroom with double bed in the loft, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with a shower. Two beautiful windows overlooking the famous "Loggia del pesce" in Piazza dei Ciompi and the Florentine hills. The apartment has air conditioning, heating, Wi-Fi.
The Apartment is next to "Ciompi Studio".
Bed linens and towels are provided.
The apartment's location is definitely unique, not only it allows you to reach walking Piazza Santa Croce with its Basilica in 5 minutes, Piazza del Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and the famous Uffizi Gallery in 10 minutes, but it also offers the opportunity to live in one of the most characteristic areas of Florence.
In Piazza dei Ciompi, where the apartment is located, there is the old "flea market" that has always been a destination for those who want to relive the flavors of the past. You can find old furniture, books, records, jewelry, lamps, old photos and postcards of the past. Also in the nearby Piazza Ghiberti (only 3 minutes walk) you can go shopping in the popular market of Sant'Ambrogio: where there are open stalls of fruit and vegetables, inside there is shoals of fresh meat and fish, cheese and food of all kinds. A small restaurant allows you to eat cheaply.
The apartment is easily accessible by public transport (15/20 minutes from Santa Maria Novella Station) and is located at the very beginning of the restricted traffic zone but you can park in a pubblic pay parking just 200 meters away.
Please notice that check-in after 20.30 are not recommended (I have to ask someone to bring you the keys), after 21.30 are not accepted.
Please be respectful with the apartment.
Leave the apartment as you found it: take out the rubbish and put dishes, cutlery and pans where they belong.
Just act like you'd do in your own house (don't leave the windows opened when air conditioned or heating is on, walking with shoes on sofas, leave everything dirty...) :)
Until now I had only good experiences so I'm motivated to offer the best service I can, and this is thanks to people who behaves great!
Very nice place in a great location (next to a gelato shop) walking distance to the duomo and main streets. Matteo is a great host who orientated us around the house. You won't regret your stay there.
The apt was in a good location for us, it was outside the main centre of town but easy walking (I was able to walk quickly to the train station in 15 min). However we had numerous other concerns.
1) our host was 15 min late meeting us for check in
2) we were provided with only one roll of toilet paper and they would not provide any more. For the price we paid I would have thought that would be a basic item provided
3) the hot water tank was not working properly when we checked in, someone came to fix it, however the instructions we received on how to use the gas (it is a gas hot water tank) were wrong so we kept on turning off the hot water tank for two subsequent morning and had to have the host come back to fix when we were out during the day. Finally in the third day we connected live with the host and instructions changed so that we didn't touch a certain valve. So we finally had the water but the host turned on the heat in the apt by accident which we didn't realize until the day we left. So the apt was really hot even though the air conditioning was on.
4) the apt was not the cleanest or well maintained (dishes in cupboards were not clean, floor hadn't been swept before we arrived, faucet handle in shower came off in our hand, multiple light bulbs burned out).
5) there were lots of Mosquitos and I got eaten alive at night, even though the windows were closed they still got in the apt.
On our next trip to Florence we will not be staying at this apt
The apartment was great and exactly as described. Not sure if it said it came with a hair dryer, but it was a pleasant surprise to see that there was one provided since we'd forgotten ours. One of the best gelato places is fantastically (and dangerously!) practically next door ~ to the right when you walk out the front door. The 60 steps to and from the apt., will make the gelato calories melt right off! Quick laundry tip ~ just pop all of your clothes from the day all in the washer each night before going to bed and put on the drying rack....all will be dry by the morning! The large windows held spectacular views each night as well. Oh, and there is a great outdoor market with fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, and great leather souvenirs just to the left and down the block from the apt. I think you turn right at the first street you come to and then a first left after that. You'll find it. We loved our time in Florence and hope to return soon!
The apartment is beautiful and in the center. But Water heater is broken. And Closestool upper part is installation puts worn good place, but suggest you install those who hang towel and so on to hang lever .
The kitchen is very satisfied.
Excellent location in Firenze for our family of four. Comfortable accommodations, nice kitchen and bathroom space, convenient to a market, bus stop, and restaurants. Air conditioning was appreciated greatly.
Some noise from the street in the evening, apartment is on upper floors that require climbing approx 60 steps, but all was manageable.
We thoroughly enjoyed the 5 days we spent in this apartment. The location is perfect - we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The apartment is spacious and clean with everything we needed. Matteo was friendly and explained all we needed to know and was available for questions or problems - we had an issue with the hot water and Matteo responded immediately and came and fixed it right away. As other reviewers have mentioned, the street outside can get loud at night but we actually really enjoyed the street noise - the best was the few times there were live musicians playing on the corner. I would love to stay there again the next time we're in Florence.
