About this listing
The apartment LA GIOCONDA will help you discover that a stay in Venice is a romantic experience, but also a trip back in time.
At the same time comfortable and modern, it offers on the ground floor a living room overlooking the private garden, a living area with dining table and sofa bed that becomes a double bed and a fully equipped kitchenette for cooking. Also the bathroom on the ground floor has a shower and a washing machine. On the first floor there is a bedroom, a very relaxing ambient thanks to the choice of materials in which it was designed with warm wooden floors and ceilings, both two bedrooms are large double bedrooms and are extremely bright while the second bedroom has two single beds On the first floor there is also a bathroom with shower and hairdryer.
The Residence is in a quiet area but is also close to shopping streets, the apartment LA GIOCONDA is located in the Cannaregio district, well stocked area with supermarkets, fruit and vegetable markets, bars and typical Venetian restaurants. The Residence is just a short walk to famous sights like the Strada Nuova, il Mercato di Rialto, Saint Mark's square and the palazzo Ca' Vendramin Calergi, home to the municipal Casino of Venice without neglecting that around you can make wonderful excursions such as visits to campo del Ghetto Novo, an ancient Jewish settlement.

Simon was very welcoming and took time to give us directions and advice on places to go. Communication was easy between the apartment company for any questions.
The apartment was a nice space, pretty compact however I would highly recommend with a good location as well. The only downfall is the bedroom with the bunk beds due to the lack of aircon. The fan on the ceiling simply blows around all the hot air of the apartment and this is uncomfortable in the height of summer. All in all, a lovely experience.
Very nice and comfortable apartment enjoyed our stay. Good communication with the host and easy check-in and checkout.
The place initially looked as lovely as the photos presented on Airbnb, but it wasn't as clean as it seemed (there were a few sticky stains outside the washing machine and there was quite a bit of dust forming on the frame of the bunk beds). The area isn't that far from the main train station (it's about a 15 minute walk) so it was really convenient. Cutlery and some kitchenware were lacking ((website hidden) knives), we did try to inform the host about this, but I think they overlooked it on my e-mail, good thing we had plastic cutlery with us and a Swiss knife. There were a few other issues as well, which in fairness to the host, they did fix as as they could - they sent over a technician who replaced the electric kettle that wouldn't heat and did a make-shift fix on the curtains as they wouldn't close properly. They still have an issue with their TV that the technician couldn't fix (it couldn't produce any channels), but they are looking into it. Communication with the host wasn't always instantaneous, but we still got things done in general. It wasn't a perfect Airbnb experience, but it generally served its purpose well.
Communication before our trip was friendly and efficient, but when we got to meeting point at the appointed time there was nobody to pick us up. After 10 minutes I called our contact and fortunately she then arrived after 5 minutes. She was friendly enough and showed us the apartment. The location of the apartment suited us well, in a quiet area but everything within walking distance. Our double bed was comfortable, but our friend in the top bunkbed said the mattress reminded him of a military camp. The bathrooms looked nice but are in need of maintenance. The downstairs shower did not drain very well. I consider myself lucky that I noticed a little notice on the window which said to take our rubbish out before we left or we might be asked to pay €250. I found this rather surprising since we were paying a cleaning fee of €115, which seems very high for the cleaning of a small apartment. When we left we unfortunately forgot a camera charger and battery of which I notified them a few hours after we left Venice. I asked if they could send these items to an address in Italy. They suggested I could organise a DHL pick up, but that would be rather expensive and not worth it. I told them I preferred to have it send by post and we would pay that fee. It’s now 2 weeks later and they still haven’t send it. We had a wonderful time in Venice, but when we go back next year I will not be using Faville Tours.
