Recently renewed and fully furnished apartment on the third floor (no elevator available) of a typical 17th century roman building.
It faces by one side the Vatican Dome through the main bedroom windows. And on the other side, through the kitchen and the living room windows, it faces the famous "Passetto", the wall that connects the Vatican to the fortress of Castel Sant' Angelo by which the Pope escaped in the past in case of danger.
It is located just 100 meters far from the Saint Peter's square, in a very typical and old area called "Borgo Pio" where also the Pope Benedictus XVI used to live before his election.
In the area you will find lots of restaurants, bars and all kinds of shops.
The apartment is composed of two bedrooms (of which one is facing the Saint peter's Dome), a living room, small kitchen and a bathroom with a shower.
In about 15 minutes walk you will reach Piazza Navona, Campo di Fiori and Pantheon.
The apartment is easily connected with public transport. There are many bus stops close by and Metro Ottaviano is 15 minutes walking away.
Smoking Not allowed
Towels and bedlinen provided.
You should definitely stay in Jane's apartment! She is a great hostess. Although she was out of town the day we arrived, Alessandro was ready and waiting for us. It was so nice to check in quickly after a long flight from the States - usually a hotel won't let you check in until 3 pm, so we loved getting to check in before 12 noon. The apartment is in the perfect location, just steps away from the Vatican, and a few blocks from a metro stop. We even had a small problem with the toilet - honestly it could have been that we were unfamiliar with the style - and Jane had it fixed within a day. Check out was very easy as well. If we ever return to Rome, we would love to stay here again.
semplicemente stupenda, centralissima e davvero a 2 passi da san (website hidden) gentilissimo
Stayed at Jane's apartment 4-10 April and it was a convenient (website hidden) Peters is literally steps away. Alot of the main attrations were a bit further out, so we opted for the red bus tour. We walked alot, which we didn't mind and if need be took a taxi back to the apartment. I really like the fact that there was an extra bedroom, which my two boys (10 &12) stayed. Keep in mind there is no elevator as the apartment is in an old historic bldg, so pack light. The apartment was simple, clean and worth the stay.
nice and clean apartment, ideal location if you want to start next morning by visiting the vatican. Jane was helpful and v friendly. great trip overall...
This apartment was amazing! It's in an old Italian building built into the Vatican wall. I was looking for a place to stay that was authentic architecturally and this hit everything on my list, wooden beam ceiling, tile, windows looking to the St. Peter's dome, other windows opening to the ally. Very beautiful building and apartment. Jane was great, she gave us a map when we got there and let us know where all the good spots to eat were to avoid all the tourist traps. We followed her advice and it was an awesome expierence. Great apartment, great host.
We stayed in this cute apartment in Rome for 4 nights around March time. 3 of us, my 50-60 year old parents and myself. We had a very pleasant stay. The apartment is very very close to the San Pietro Basillica and 10-15 min walk to the historic city center. It is very clean, and very cute and authentic. Wooden ceilings, great views from the condo, lovely little street also a block away (literally) from a cozy street with restaurants/trattorias and gelatto places. Couldn´t have asked for more! :)
We loved it and if we ever come back to Rome, we will definitely come back to this apartment. Jane welcomed us the first night and gave us pieces of advice and was very kind. Thanks Jane - we really had a great time!!!
Jane is a kind and helpful host. We had such a fantastic time in Rome and this adorable apartment was the perfect home base. The neighborhood has plenty of local flavor, despite being so close to St. Peter’s Square. The view really is that good from the bedroom too! I liked the street view from the living room too, watching all the locals zip around in their scooters. Apartment is nicely updated but still full of charm and character. Great value, highly recommended!
