Beacon Hermitage leads to the hiking trails to Mount Beacon and Breakneck Ridge. Our home is between Beacon and Cold Spring, only 3 miles each way. Breakfast will be served from 7am to 10am. Enjoy the intimacy of having to share an old farm house with another Airbnb couple as we only have two bedrooms with full sized beds for lodging with a shared bathroom. Due to our unique location we can offer private parking space. It's conveniently located for wedding venues in both towns.

Jim's place was perfect. The property is gorgeous with greenery and streams and hammocks all about, and a beautiful waterfall/lagoon to swim in nearby. It was just a few minutes drive to Main Street, and the house was quirky and lovely. Jim was such a gracious, warm, and generous…

Set beside a steady stream with woodland all around, Jim and Jie’s place was the epitome of classic Scottish chic. The trains in the distance and the chickens letting you know they have laid their eggs all add to the wonderful country ambience you will feel whilst staying here. W…

We enjoyed our stay at Jim's: it's a convenient and pleasant spot for striking out on day hikes and seeing nearby towns, the host are friendly and the property is pretty.

Hi Amy, I've just read your feed back. Before you booked did you not know I was 3 miles from Beacon? Also what other location would charge you $80 a night for what you were getting? What were your expectations?

The Hermitage is beautiful house full of antique charm and owned by the friendly, hardworking people. We were disappointed that we didn't get to try Jim's highly-praised hot breakfast that was listed when we first booked, but he more than made up for that with his highly accommo…

Response from Jim:
Jo insisted that she should receive the same breakfast options but at a far reduced rate that she received when making the booking. I noticed that other Airbnb hosts in Beacon were not offering the same cooked breakfast amenities as I did. So as to be competitive in pricing I reduced my pricing and still offered a "continental breakfast" option. Jo also noted an "odor" in the lounge... that would have been the freshly spread mulch (160 bags to be exact) from the garden as we take pride in looking after our garden and property.... this is called country living!
