The coastal communities of Apalachicola, St. George Island and Eastpoint, the heart of the Forgotten Coast, offer an authentic taste of Florida's Gulf Coast. Experience historic Apalachicola, a quaint small southern town with a strong maritime culture, an eclectic group of locally owned shops and galleries, restaurants which serve fresh local seafood (We own Tamara's Cafe and Tapas Bar (website hidden) and my mom owns Cafe Con Leche). You’ll also find miles of uncrowded pristine beaches just a short drive away. An endless supply of shallow bays and waterways, excellent fishing and acres of National and State forests to explore. (check out (website hidden) if you need to book a fishing trip) Combine all this with some of the finest oysters and seafood in the country and your stay with us is sure to be perfect!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 25th wedding anniversary in paradise! The accommodations were perfectly suited to our needs - private, spacious and fully equipped with everything we might need. When the cable went out due to a network outage, Maria was prompt in addressing the issue. And, of course, we ate at Tamara' s and the Taps Bar as frequently as possible. Everything was perfect!! Thank you!
The cottage was fabulous. Bright, clean, big. It was also super quiet. Loved it!
Everything worked fine. We stayed there for three days. Aapalachicola is worth to visit more than just one Day. Marisa and Danny where very forcoming. Helped us to start our vacation with a kajak, we could delivered to her house.
That was very convinied for us.
The house has a perfect location. Everything is in walking distance.
We hope to get back next year.
Marisa's cottage is efficient, tastefully decorated and provides everything you need for an enjoyable stay for an night, week or extended stay. The town is quaint with lots of history and diversity. I've had the opportunity to travel Florida from the Keys to Panams City. Apalachicola os the most unique, laid back place I've been. If you are interested in a relaxing stay with out the trappings of corporate influence give this a try.
Marisa met us at the backyard and showed us the little house, our home for the next month. She was welcome and informative. Even though we shared the backyard with her and her family, we saw little of each other. The listing is accurate, and the neighborhood is quiet, eclectic, and a very short walk to Apalachicola's charming downtown. We would love to go back there.
Marisa's garden house was great! It is located right next to the heart of wonderful Apalachicola. The bed was very comfy, the kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom very clean. Marisa welcomed us upon arrival. We were very happy with our stay at her place and definitely recommend it! Have lots of Fun in Apalachicola and thank you, Marisa.
This is the perfect place to stay in Apalachicola. Cosy, tasteful and just funky enough to fit in with the offbeat feel of the local color of this coastal community. A lot of thought went into what guests would need and you lack for nothing from pots and pans for cooking to a big screen TV which you'll never use if you were as busy as we were. We especially enjoyed the fire pit and back yard where we ate our meals. Try Tamara's restaurant for a delightful dinner.
Me and my Husband Danny moved to Paradise in 2002. Apalachicola Fl is a wonderful quite little town full of history. I am from Venezuela and I meet my husband in Savannah when I had just finished college in SCAD. We have to beautiful kids, Alex is 11 and Maya is 9. They are the most important people in our lives.
I hope you enjoy our suite in paradise ;)
