We had a wonderful time! The guest home was perfect, clean and well kept. Our hosts were very sweet and even gave us a cooler and beach chairs to use. The previous "negative" issues with the fire pit and bleach smell were either corrected or inaccurate. We had such a great stay, we are already talking about going back. Apalach was a really fun, laid-back town. We loved the restaurants and the new (website hidden) George Island was a very short drive away and had beautiful, un-crowded beaches. This area is truly a hidden gem. We hope to return soon! Thanks again!
This was our first experience with AirBnB and I must say it was a wonderful one. Marisa and Danny both made us feel very welcome and also gave us as much privacy as we desired. The space was very clean and exceeded our expectations. All in all it was a perfect experience.
Lovely cottage located in quiet neighborhood, walking distance to everything. Very comfortable, well equipped with thoughtful touches throughout. Marissa and Dan are fabulous hosts. My husband and I and our two dogs thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Unhesitatingly recommend!
We had a very enjoyable time and loved the privacy and quite of the accomadations. Sets at the perfect place to walk in the neighborhood and down to the waterfront. You have just what you need to be comfortable and the hosts are friendly and accommodating. I reccomend this as a good place to enjoy a few days away or a vacation.
We were so excited to spend our anniversary in Appalachicola/ St. George. It was perfect!
The apartment was very warm and welcoming. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was equipt for cooking. The bed was very comfortable and the location was great! I feel as if the apartment was great value and I would definitely recommend it. We saw Danny (Marisa's husband) all around town and he was very kind as well! I highly recommend their Tapas restaurant too... It's the happening place to be in Apalachicola!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is set up quite nicely, with everything we needed and more. We will definitely try to stay there again. My parents live just a few blocks from there, so it makes it very convenient. It was so much nicer than staying in one of the few hotels there are in Apalachicola. It was extremely clean, as well.
Apalachicola (or the panhandle in general) is the part of Florida a foreigner should have visited to have seen the "other side" side of the State:
Unique, characteristic, and friendly people (who definitely know how to party and having a relaxed time)...
... great landscapes, lonley infinite beaches...
... and the(!) best seafood and sundowners around!
But what we liked the most was Marisa and Danny"s place:
in walking distance to "downtown" Apalachicola (and all there is to see),
quiet and relaxed, conviniently furnished and decorated and just a perfect place for any couple to stay for exploring that beautiful part of the States!
We'd love to come back!
For $65 a night this was a fine option: very close to center of town, and a comfortable enough space. We only briefly saw Marisa and Danny, but they seemed friendly. A big suggestion to them would be to clean up the yard, making the entrance to the cottage more appealing; we were surprised by how unkempt the yard was - the fire-pit, that looks so nice in the picture, was a wreck, covered by branches and twigs, and the cushions need heavy-duty cleaning.
We stayed 4 nights in Apalachicola and had a wonderful time. The cottage has everything you need, it's very near of the city centre, clean and if you love oysters and Apalachicola it's the best place to stay. Thanks to Marisa, too bad we saw her only for a little time.
